Debating leaving a promotion or not

Recommended Posts

I started playing with the WWF in 1997 and currently in 2001 right after Mania 17, which was a huge success, Austin just defeated the Rock for the title and all my storylines ended at Mania. I'm starting to think of new storylines but many of my main event wrestlers are leaving because they want more money and Vince McMahon isn't allowing me over 65,000

And yes I've created new stars, Edge was on his way to the title when he was unhappy with not getting paid more and left. WCW is basically dead, their losing money and I'm waiting to buy them out.

So basically, I'm thinking of starting a promotion to compete with the WWF after maybe waiting a year and going to take them on again. Or I could keep going with the WWF.

If WCW sold out to me I'd stay to book the invasion, but so far they won't budge. Their 10 million in the hole and still won't do it.

Here's the way I look at it - did you take over the WWF because you love the WWF or becuase you love the workers? If you love the workers, then losing a bunch of them could definitely kill off interest in the game. But if its the promotion you love, is it going to be as fun to take a promotion with little to no identity and trying to do something? Perhaps. But it could also be fun trying to keep the WWF at the top by building a new generation of superstars. Look at it as a challenge.

Yeah, Bigpapa42, I kind of took it because I love the superstars during this era, with HBK, Austin, Rock, and many more. My roster is already stacked so I'm starting to think losing some of my top talent isn't so bad, because I'm already waiting to replace them with younger talent, sure its a few years earlier for guys like Jeff Hardy, Brock Lesnar, and Orton to be main eventing, but the talent that is older and leaving is young enough to come back and challenge the younger guys later on.

But the idea of starting my own promotion is a great idea, just my dv promotion is loaded with future talent, I just wish there was more competition besides NJPW in Japan, I feel like they won't make a run at taking me on like WCW did.
