Guest ShortShortsarentdead
I'm not sure why you guys think thats crazy? Please tell me PLEASE! Also don't say hes not because he hasn't won a championship or hes not famous. WHO CARES? Assuming hes gonna get a shot at Bowles he will be a champion and the only reason he isn't famous is because the Bantamweights are very popular. It seems like these lists other people make are based of fame.Obvousley if he fought Fedor or Silva theres that weight advantage they have but he definitely has more skill then those guys.If WEC was UFC famous people would consider alot of Cruz's wins would be "big".Also don't say "Blah he lost to Faber blah blah blah" He was wasn't as famous and that was bull**** putting him in a title shot in his first WEC fight.I'm convinced that now if he fought Faber he would win.If he can cancel out Joseph Benavidez's wrestling he can cancel out Browns wrestling and he also has the best striking under 170.Alot of his fights show case that. MrSelfDestruct
he just lost to urijah faber not too long ago. he has a good record but is not one of the best just yet, i am personally a big fan of this guy and think someday he will be a huge star, just not yet. he need to get some more wins over BIG names before he can be considered even close to the top 5. yhe hasnt proven he deserves to be known as on of the best YET

SeanMcFly
I'm saying theres always alot pressure on the debut. Valencia and Benavidez aren't big names? nope, not even close. Cruz hasn't held a belt, he hasn't beaten anybody big, Benavidez Wrestling is not close to what Brown can do. Brown is the strongest Featherweight in the World, and if he was to fight Bowles, ouf. Torres would be torture for him. Sorry, not happening

Guest ShortShortsarentdead
Damn I hope Cruz fights Brown to prove you wrong. Benavidez's wrestling is better then Browns what are you talking about!? I guess your saying that because Brown has fought in UFC who cares about that. Valencia and Benavidez are both one of the greatest to step in the the cage. Sorry thats happening

Mike Brown is the best wrestler in the featherweight division. Point Blank. He is one of the strongest men to enter the cage, and Valencia and Benavidez are still sub-par. Who has Valencia Beaten ? Oh Yeah, that Scrub Antonio Banuelos. Who has Benavidez Beaten ? Oh Yeah, that loser Jeff Curran. Joseph Benavidez is a prospect, he hasn't beaten anybody that shows me that his wrestling is better than people like Mike Brown. I'm not just saying it because Brown has fought in the UFC. Brown lost his one and only UFC fight, and he's improved since then. He's manhandled Urijah Faber, TWICE. Ripped apart Leonard Garcia and would probably dismantle Dominic Cruz before Breakfast. Maybe you don't understand the concept of the Top P4P. To be a P4P fighter, you have to have won at least one title, beaten anybody that has been a legitimate threat, or a former P4P'er, and have the record to boot. Cruz has a great record at 14-1, i'll admit that, and he's a good fighter, just not anybody that I would expect to be atop the P4P list at any point in the future. What the bagel are you talking about? Jeff Curran is noooooooooo loser! He fought 4 of the best fighters in his last 4 fights and he came close beating them all.INCLUDING BROWN! Charlie Valencia is AWESOME! he beat Seth Dikun whos good, almost beat thee bantamweight champion, put up a great fight with Maeda and MAEDA IS MAEDA and MAEDA is great,He knocked out a great fighter of Banuelos and put up a fight aginast the amazing Cruz. SeanMcFly
That scrub Antonio Banuelos? That loser Jeff Curran? If I were you I wouldn't talk about MMA anymore, because you don't know much about it. That's fairly ignorant wouldn't you say ? Antonio Banuelos has done what ? Split Decisioned a nobody like Scott Jorgenson, and for somebody from the Pit to have to rely on a split decision win, shows me that his cardio is nothing. Who are you to say that I don't know much about it ? Jeff Curran has fought in the UFC, yes. He's dropped 4 in a row with the WEC, at his natural weight nonetheless, I dare you to go through his roster and tell me anybody legit that he's beaten other than Jason Dent, Rafael Assuncao, or Waggney Fabiano. Seth Dikun. Are you kidding me. Valencia has not done anything of note in the WEC other than KO Antonio Banuelos. He was rear naked choked by Brian Bowles rather quickly, beaten with a Body Kick. Repeat, BODY KICK, from Yoshiro Maeda, and was finished quickly by Urijah Faber in KOTC. He's been finished 4 times, 3 of which were in the first round. Yeah. >.> Shortshorts, just by reading that last paragraph I wrote, he has not nearly beaten 3 champions, he's been demolished by those three. jesterx7769
You are arguing how good some one is but almost is coming up post after post so clearly they aren't that great, this isn't horse shoes or hand grenades. As far as Cruz, he can't be ranked higher than those that he hasn't beaten yet. You're saying "If he beats Bowles, Brown or Faber, so that makes him top" uh no it doesn't. If he were to fight any of them and actually win then he could be ranked up there, but come on. Oh and Curran is a loser, McFly is right.

RingofHonorGuard
Jeff Curran doesn't suck per se, but he's a gatekeeper. He's never going to be a champion of a reputable organization. Dominick Cruz in no ways deserves a Bantamweight title shot. Honestly I can't think of anyone in the Bantamweight division that deserves a shot except Torres getting an immediate rematch. As far as Mike Brown "manhandling" Faber in two fights, I disagree. Brown did beat him both times, that's fact. The first time was just a stupid move on Faber's part. But his risk taking is what brought him to the title in the first place. The second time Faber was doing very well until he broke his Mike Brown beating tools, and had to rely on his elbows, and still he did pretty well. I think he has the best wrestling in the featherweight division, but I still think Jose Aldo is going to destroy him within two rounds.
Guest ShortShortsarentdead
Oh yeah I forgot he has the best in the featherweight division Benavidez isn't a bantamweight and to ECW I didn't say he was the winner.
Dustin
I see where TS is coming from as Cruz is very well rounded with a lot of skill. You have to remember he was had been fighting a bunch of cans and then all of a sudden he was thrown to the wolves against Urijah. Not to mention that was not his true weight class. He absolutely has the skill to be in the P4P, but he only has one win over a ranked opponent thus he isn't there yet.

Dustin
Ranked as one of the top 10 in the division. Benavidez is the only ranked opponent he has fought since dropping down to bantamweight.
