Getting a TV show

Recommended Posts

I have a fed that has never run show before. When I run the first show (I am in cult status) will it be a TV show or a regular house show? I choose a night of the week to run a weekly show, but didn't get a TV contract offer.

Also, if I want to change the day of the week of the show will that cause a huge problem?

At Cult you shouldn't have any trouble getting a deal with a smaller network.

Yeah, otherwise it is just a house show. You can only negotiate before the start of a new season. You can find this info on the Diary on the User Log.

You can change the day of the show, when the show you want to change is not under contract for a tv network!

is there a way to use the same show (taping) and have it on a few different networks??

say CWF is currently on the deep south cable. If they can negotiate a deal with WTBS or even just a different heartland cable channel, can they just repackage the same show instead of a totally different taping (which would be too costly)? if so, how?

As long as the show isnt currently shown in any regions the network covers they will allow you to use it.

eg. If you currently have a TV show that is shown on one network in Great Lake, New England & Tri-State you can sell it to another network as long as their coverage doen not include those 3 regions.

Yeah, I made this mistake. I negotiated a deal with a Mexican network that had one region of coverage in the US, and then my national US deal wouldn't take the same show. So, for this season, I'm taping two separate shows in a night, for showing in the same time slot, on two networks, with a one-region overlap in coverage. I'm dropping the Mexican show this season, though I'm trying to get a bigger US deal, too, because I'm on a popularity spike.
