panix04
OK, OK - so my trying to convince people to play galaxies with me didn't really pan out. But I know there are a load of people on here who loved Mass Effect and probably quite a few who are star wars fans. so.... When the old republic comes out, which is probably a full year away, whats say we get ourselves a GDS guild going. Basically anybody who intends to give the game ago from our boards signs up to the same server. we decide now on alignment. And our guild name, colours etc. And really go for it! I have played a few mmorpgs and have seen guilds with websites, regular meetings etc. and Always wanted to be a part of it, but never really did it! So I figure here is my chance! We can use this thread as a sign up thread. I will update the first post with members. Plus we can use the thread to discuss the upcoming title. Anyone fancy it? I say we go all out and get ourselves a nice website (freebie of course!) And because its a new game we could possibly become a "famous" guild. Come on join in, it will be fun. Nedew
I'm definitely up for a GDS guild for the old republic. suggested name: Tal nar'sha don't know what you mean by member my class is probably gonna be somewhere along the lines of the sith I'm assuming he was going to edit that post to show members who were up for it, and suggested names for the guild. Comradebot
We should be the Giant Redwoods. Or... T-Rex and The Idaho Punishers.
James Casey
Clearly we need to be The Force... And I'm in. In like Flynn. In like... well, you get the idea. A decent looking Star Wars MMO? And my computer actually being able to play it? It's just possible I may sacrifice TEW for this game. The only question is, do I start as a bounty hunter or Jedi? Who am I kidding - both... Imarevenant
I'm definitely going to try the game out, so I'm down. Will be a Smuggler. Name will hopefully be Ronin Needea (The last name will for sure be Needea even if I'm not quick enough to get Ronin)
djthefunkchris
I think we should call our guild the Enterprise, or Starfleet.

Craig Edwards
i'm down for this been following the game for 2-3 years now mt class is most likely to be Jedi/Sith Depening on if our guild is going to be darkside or lightside and a good name for the guild would be The Brotherhood. I used it for my WoW guild i tried to make but after only a few months the guild broke up my Co-Leader was in the Navy and was shiped out for over a year and my computer broke down at the time. praguepride
I'd definitely be down for that clown but my issue is hours. I only get about 1-2 hours a day to play these kinds of things, and that's at an unusual time zone. If it's fun I'd be up for it but don't expect me to be going on scheduled raids with you guys
alden
<p>I have been looking at the forums and i am going to give it a try. I was a HUGE swg fan. Played alot, got a master artisan and master droid enginer and then well................</p><p> </p><p> I am am waiting for all the announced classes before i actully decide what i am going to play but i tend to play the crafters in games so what ever that is in the game.</p>

wrestlingfan1
I'd probably be willing to give it a try depending on a few thing. I'm guessing its based on Knights of the Old republic? Which despite me not being a star wars fan I really enjoyed. How much do they plan on taxing (not just to buy but per month to play)? Whats the homepage? Craig Edwards
it is 15 bucks per month to play like most MMORPGs <a href="http://www.swtor.com/" rel="external nofollow">http://www.swtor.com/</a> it is cool looking MMORPG as instead of quest after quest they have story archs and you have choices to make along the way that change the story your on

When they first drop they usually cost $50+ then you have to keep paying just to play. I understand why they have to do that but its something I can't afford right now. I'll have to stick to the free mmo's I've been playing. Good luck with the game though it looks great.</p>
Craig Edwards
most mmo's give you the first month free plus alot of them have game cards you can buy so you can buy 2 months at a time when you know you have the money to pay for it plus if you buy using a credit card if you buy more than 1 month at a time they take money off i know WoW you can buy up to 6 months at a time and it takes it down to almost 10 bucks a month bad thing is you have to pay all it at once so if you have 60 bucks you can spend it is a better deal that way in the long run
Remianen
<p>I'll join. I'm taking the lifetime deal ($199, last I heard). Can't tell you exactly what I'm going to play (haven't decided yet. Will do so when I get word on how the systems are going to work). Just be aware that I'm one of the hated powergamers. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> wrestlingfan#1, the game's not due out until the 4th quarter of 2010. That's 15 months away, roughly, and that's not even considering possible delays (Bioware is big on 'polish' and polish takes time). If you saved a dime a day between now and release day, you'd easily be able to afford the box and six months of play (the current trend in MMOs is to offer a steeply discounted rate for 6 & 12 month pre-release subscriptions and lifetime subs isn't out of the question - EA's pushing for TOR to offer that now).</p>

Capelli King
So this is a 2010 game? I rather stick to the ones which are already out:) From what i have seen in the pics it is a graphical based game, i usually hate those
panix04
Have you played KOTOR? Or Mass effect, both games were quite pretty, but to dismiss a bioware game as just a graphics game is a mistake they are almost unrivalled for storytelling in games. They have made some of the most immersive RPG's about. Really this game being a good RPG is a no brainer, wether they can splice that with all the things that make a good MMORPG remain to be seen though.
