Playcalling Set Up?

Recommended Posts

Been following the development for a while and am really looking forward to its release. To pass the time I had a quick question about the playcalling set up and how that will work. I'm wondering if it will be a single button selection and then the play runs, or if users will have the option on offense to send men in motion, leave backs in to block, fake hand off, get out of bounds, stay in bounds, etc.... or will those kinds of things be "pre-scripted" on the avaliable plays? On defense will it be a one play set up or one where users select formation (3-4, 4-3, nickle, dime....), coverage (man, zone, loose, tight, deep, short), blitzers (1 LB, 2 LB, Safety, LB and Safety...), and/ or line assignment (defend left/ right, jam middle, play outside...) or a set up where different plays have those things already implemented? I have played a lot of games of Action PC Football which uses more of the variable type of playcalling interface, as well as Front Office Football which is a more static play set up. I haven't played TPFB, and don't know if BBCF will have a similar interface. Game looks great, looking forward to it and think its pretty cool to be able to have direct contact with the programmer.

[/quote] No, it's more of a coaching thing than a QB-audible thing. So you can't decide to use motion or call a guy into the backfield to block. On offense you select a formation and choose a type of play "short pass" "medium pass" "long pass" "inside run" "outside run". Depending on your play type you'll have 6-10 plays per formation to choose from. Depending on this selection you'll see 6-10 plays per formation, on some of these plays there are different blitzers and the dline will cheat left or right.
