StudioStu
I was getting tired of the bright blue background of the C-verse cuts, so I started messing with my own. But I was wondering if something similar to these have already been done... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t291/studiostustar/cuts.jpg

StudioStu
Glad you like them! I may actually add some texture, do you think this looks better? http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t291/studiostustar/worker.jpg

Looks good.

StudioStu
Thanks guys. I may go ahead and do this. My goal is to make a pack that can be universally used on any screen, which is why I've decided to go with black and white. These should also look good on the Grunge mod. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

StudioStu
I think it would be best if this were a group effort. Would anyone like to contribute to this project? There are so many cuts that I don't know when I would ever be able to finish them. Plus I'm also currently involved with bringing the grunge mod to TEW 2005. I'll let you know the precise settings I use so that all look the same. Any and all help will be much appreciated.
Alec_Burkhardt
I'm pretty poor at cutting, but I've always wondered why when people are cutting pictures to put on new backgrounds they just don't save a version of the cut with a transparent background (or no background at all). Would seem to be to me to be the most useful of all cuts, as it would allow anyone to more easily use new backgrounds if they tire of the existing ones. Probably need to be saved as a png file rather than straight jpg, but just a thought if people are going to go through the work of cutting all 1300+ Cverse workers. Really like both of these backgrounds; the textured one a little bit more.

As for cutting skills, I'm using Paint.net with a few plugins on these particular cuts that don't require any cutting skill, really. Since the Cornellverse pics are on mostly blue bg's, I use a plugin that automatically removes all the blue. Then I run a feather and drop shadow plugin and it's done! Phreak
Im liking the idea of .gif or .png C-verse cuts, my pack is coming along pretty slowly still, been plugging away at it. I'll likely release all I've done in the next week or so and then just do updates, after that I'd be willing to get some of these cuts going. ~Phreak
StudioStu
I'm all in for doing .png cuts, I think it's a fantastic idea that a lot of people would appreciate. How many people are up for contributing? There's me and Phreak once he finishes his project (which is awesome by the way). Who else?
crayon
I've been waiting a long time for C-Verse renders to be on anything but that horrendous blue background, so this project gets my vote. I could even do some cuts here and there in a non-commital way
mistaken
I am going to voice an opinion. I think that a project to put up the whole cornellverse in .gif would be awesome. with no back ground at all. (perserve the alpha channel) that way dropping them on a back ground would be an easy two layer step, merge down and then be off and running. I know as a diary writer that would make, changing back grounds for Stables or brand splits much easier. but then seeing what Fin and I are putting together for the new Diary project is showing me alot about pushing more out the the GDS forums in general. I'll agree, except for the part about using .GIF .PNG not only offers more color range, it also does more flexible transparency. GIFs will give you a hard edge on the outline, because they can't do gradual transparency; it's either all or nothing.

A C-Verse pack with a transparent (aka no) background would be perfect. Like mistaken said, I would love to be able to change the background in my diaries to reflect anything from alignment to them being from a stable or a certain company.
