GForce22
Hi guys, I did e-wrestling WAAAAAYYYY back when. I would ideally like to create a company in TEW using guys from back then, incorporated with all-time greats. I've seen the War of the Immortals mod, which looks as though it will serve for the all-time guys very nicely. My question is, to make it tougher to win, what should I limit with regard to my guys and the company as a whole to make it harder. I don't want to make it a foregone conclusion my company rules the world All advice is appreciated. GH
Hyde Hill
Set a certain product and only use workers that fit that ideally. Don't start with to much money and on the low end of cult. Set rules for yourselves who you do and don't hire. Pet projects to get certain useless lumps over. There is more but too tired atm good luck and enjoy. D-Lyrium
The best advice anyone can be given in terms of mod making is: Look at the Cornellverse. The Cornellverse works. Fact. Therefore, if you model your mod on the Cornellverse, there's a good chance it, too, will work. I'm not saying just change the names and a few stats in the CV and call it a mod, but if you look at the Cornellverse properly you'll see certain things. Such as: - the general Popularity of an International fed's main eventers is B to B+, A and A* is reserved for absolute megastars. Sam Strong is the ONLY worker with A* overness throughout America (even Tommy Cornell is only B+). Only two workers have A popularity in America - Frehley and McFly. So when creating International feds, that's the sort of level their main event talent should be at. - Only three active wrestlers in the Cornellverse have B+ or higher Psychology while still being in their 20's. One of those is Tommy Cornell, one other (Angry Gilmore) will soon be 30 (he's 29 and his birthday is in May). Therefore, if you want someone to be "really good" at psychology when they're young, the realistic limit is B. And that still makes them unusual. - 'Brown letters' (D- to D+) in ring-based stats (brawling, high flying, technical, basics etc) is enough to get your hired to a Regional or even Cult fed as a lower carder. Sometimes even an upper carder. Even if the promotion relies heavily on performance. So your young prospects don't need amazing stats. D is perfectly acceptable for a lower level fed. Just by looking at the Cornellverse (and in your case, the mod you're adding your stuff to) you can tell what is 'realistic' in game terms. I'm not saying "Don't put anyone in the game under thirty with higher than B psychology!" All I'm saying is, "if you do put someone in the game under thirty with higher than B psychology, the kid will be viewed as one of the best storytellers of all time on his debut". If that's what you're aiming for, then that's fine... Similarly, just because only three workers have higher than B+ brawling (Tommy, Dan Jr and McFly), that's not to say you can't have an awesome brawler. Use the Cornellverse wrestlers as a base and edit from there is all I'm saying. Find someone in the Cornellverse who's style and stats are vaguely similar and use them as a base. For example, my e-fed character was a middleweight with a technical mindset but with some flashy high-flying moves. So I want a relatively flashy technician. Is he going to be one of the best, most over workers in the game? No, so I can ignore Jeremy Stone. But he will still be an above-average wrestler. Luis Figo Manico looks like a good starting point. Bit less charismatic, take away some Star Quality and bring his performance skills down to the D-C range because Stylez is 23 to Manico's 39... turn his stiffness up a bit et voila, Shawn Stylez. As for his popularity, that depends on where you're putting him in the database. Is your promotion Cult, or Regional, or what? Let's go for Cult. Stylez was a perenial midcarder, so let's go and look at the popularity values of existing Cult promotion midcarders in the CV... E+ to D-. So that's where Stylez should be. Hyde Hill
Yeah if I ever have the time I am actually gonna use the stats /overness in the c-verse to make a real world mod. Per example x number of companies in c verse means same amount in real world. X amount of brawling at C+ means X amount of C+ brawlers in real world. It will be more american centered as the real world is but I think that would really work.
