The Must Read List 2009

Recommended Posts

not to sound like a moaner but i think my wcw diary was nominated but aint on ur list... Also, as a fellow 75-100er I agree the more the better. We should recognise as many writers as possible to ensure our history... our LEGACY is truly reflective of the wide range of style and talent we possess as a group.

:( sorry you had one vote for Kid's and the rest was for we three kings and I gave all of them to Kids. I fixed it.

What about a top 50 list, but then maybe a top 40 for both real world and cornellverse, so that they are in essence accumulated together, but also separated. There's a lot of readers who read one type purely and maybe it'd be good to acknowledge it that way via separation.

I suppose because he is reading EVERYONE's diary he simply doesn't have the time to make comments on them, in fact does he have time for anything in his life <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

@Zeel: That celebratory pic is awesome!

I'm pleased to have cracked the top 30. Shocked that I only finished one point behind one of Wildfire's NWA diaries, which I consider the best diary(s) I've ever read. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Whoa, did not expect to end up at #1. That feels so weird, given the outstanding quality of the diaries in the top ten, and below that as well.

Thanks for all the work on this, mistaken. Its a great project and hopefully provides some guidance for readers looking for stuff they haven't read before. Now I need to go catch up on a few diaries that I've overlooked...

I, amongst many probably, would love to see you come out in 2010 with a new project... but, as we've talked about, it will all come down to whether or not you feel the "itch" to make it happen.

As for "PSW: The Evolution of Greed", Top 12!!! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I think the focus that this dynasty garnered means so much more to me following my X-WA turnout. I had my concrete readers with that one, however, it wasn't until PSW fell upon me that things seemed to take off. I treated each and every PSW event as a grand show... Fleshing out the detail as much as possible to not only give the reader a better understanding of what they would "see" if they were watching it on their computers.... While also looking to develop more of a "novel" scenario than a dink-and-dunk booking dynasty (which, don't get me wrong, I enjoy as well as a reader).

To see your work receiving such an honor as to be part of a list like this truly means a lot! I'm only 2-3 more posts left (that I know of) with "The Greed story", however, It's a great way to see it come to a close knowing that it will go down as one of the top 12 dynasties to read in the 2008 forum.

Cheers.

Well, I am not #1 <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> but frankly I am honored to have not 1, but 2 of my works be part of this list and amazed that they would both rank in the top 30 overall, especially given the sheer volume of fantastic diaries that have come out over the years.

2009 especially has been an epic year for fantastic diaries as I think there have been more top shelf works done this year alone as in the last 3 years combined with people like Self, Bigpapa, Finisher, Phantom Stranger, Tigerkinney, Marcel Fromage, Eisenverse, and others just from the C-verse alone. Add to that a number of excellent real world diaries and this has truly been a fantastic year to be a reader on these forums.

So let me just say thank you to those people who thought enough of my diaries to feel they were worth recommending others to read them.

Great job all around. Kinda surprised that Monkeypox isn't #1 but then again his diary was so short and so long ago it's hard to compare.

BigPapa, if anyone deserves to beat Monkeypox, it's you. Congratulations and well done!

I smell an HoF nomination come end of the year <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Wow. 6th. I'm touched.

When I first toyed with the idea of writing a dynasty, I decided I would only do one. I'd tell one story, tell it well, put my heart, my soul, my everything into writing wrestling how I'd want to see it, then retire with a complete story that I can be proud of. Following that train of thought, I'm very happy that the Frontier Combat Kingdom is enjoyed by so many people.

I find it interesting that FCK is the highest place 'fake' promotion. I always expect that not being a recognised brand name like WWE or ECW or SWF or MAW would lower my audience, but apparently that's not the case... Or maybe it is and I'm so awesome I can overcome that handicap. One can only wonder what I could do with TCW or TNA or BSC.

Oh well... perhaps in 2010.

7th for FCW, 16th for BHOTWG, not bad I suppose.

Actually considering all the great writers that are on these boards, that's pretty damn good. So thanks to everyone who have read and enjoyed either my FCW diary for or my BHOTWG diary or both.

And Bigpapa42 who perhaps is too modest for his own good sometimes, is a very deserving number 1 with the masterpiece that was SWF Generation Supreme. In his Rich Money he created one of the Cornellverse's most enduring, memorable characterisations.

I think it just still strikes me as a bit surreal to be lumped in with the very same great diaries that provided me with so much inspiration and enjoyment. Damn it, I forgot Outlaw's NWA diary in my voting. If he still ever looks in, sorry big man, you know I loved your work and it was me forgetting rather than not absolutely loving it.

Anyway, ninth. Gotta say, that is pretty amazing. 3rd in real world, and sandwiched between two Tristram masterpieces- brilliant. I'm genuinely grateful to everyone who voted for me and got me so high up the list, I'm really, truly grateful. Thank you.

55...wtf I def don't deserve that high lol. i am happy people voted cause this was a great idea. and im very happy people enjoyed what was essentially going to be a throwaway dynasty (which will be back eventually). i do hope people enjoy my next effort and such and thanks again entire board for putting up great stuff this year.

If that was a throwaway dynasty, I can't wait to see what one of your real diaries is like! Because your throwaway dynasty was great!
