This is the one of the features that might seem strange at first but actually reflexes real life. MSG is locked down by WWE, while the Arena in Philadelphia has been leased out several times first by ECW but then XPW and CZW, and maybe even PWU and 3PW. Because the venue is such a hotbed for fans its vital to have control over it for a good tri-state company.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Arena_%28Philadelphia%29t

One interesting problem is this: in the C-Verse each region only has one venue of each size in it...so

Let's say SWF controls the Big venue in the Tri-state: that would mean that if TCW ever wanted to go the tristate they'd either have to go to a smaller venue or use a venue that's way too big.

that or more venue might be added this year.

I don't see the data ever being exclusive to one company in one area (there are several big cities in every region, surely they all have the capacity to hold big shows).

WWF used to run MSG monthly, so it would be pretty cool to be able to add that into mods like DOTT. I think people are under-estimating the effect of this feature. Say SWF is able to lock in exclusive venues in multiple regions of the US... That keeps other companies from being able to rise up and challenge them in that particular venue. Now, if there are more venues added, it becomes less severe, but if the venue amounts stay relatively the same, it allows for one company to try to force out another... I'm very interested in seeing how this plays out... If you have to contract with a venue to say it's exclusive, and if you do have a contract, if the venue can decide to drop the exclusivity if you are not drawing well...

Or, if you can out bid a company. Say SWF has venues as exclusive, but I want to out-bid them on those venues, give them a better deal than what ever deal SWF has with them, it.'d be interesting to see if I can out bid them...

I have no idea if any of that will come into play, just merely speculating

From how it sounds to me, you can probably give certain venue's (or make) to certain promotions in the editor. These venue's are either owned, or used exclusively for that company. The bolded word there "Own", makes me believe the only way someone like SWF is going to have a Venue added in game, is to make or buy their own (however it is done). Meaning, it will be a new venue made specifically for SWF (in game), but not taking away from the rest of the gameworld.

EDIT: Bassically your making your own "Hotspot" for your biggest fans (or at least closest thing to a home base).

on the exclusive venue deal, i think it needs to have some restrictions. 1 you need to be at least a small or regional company to be able to get an arena.

cost shouldn't come cheap. should have options to purchase or sign an exclusive lease deal. smaller arens should be easier to just be purchaseable. bigger only lease. large arenas like your domes and stadiums arent available.

only one arena allowed at a time and in your region only.. owning or leasing needs to have some sort of risk factor.

I'm curious to see what venues are 'owned' by C-Verse promotions. Considering the locations in TEW08 were pretty generic I'm hoping that more are being added for TEW10. I'm going to be disappointed if this was simply added for real-world mods and C-Verse promotions don't even do this... that's just me though. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

WWE's the only wrestling company allowed to use MSG? ...I was not aware of that..still pretty cool feature.

I see that coming to an end within a few years though. TNA held that press conference to introduce the signing of Hulk Hogan at MSG... so I find it hard to believe that WWE will have sole-rights to the venue for years to come. Maybe MSG just opened the doors 'cause it was Hogan, but doesn't that mean they'd open the doors to TNA doing a show there if Hogan appears? Not that I see TNA running a show at MSG anytime soon... they can barely sell out 3,000 seat arenas for house shows. I went to one last week and probably 800 people were there... but to TNA's credit it was their first show in Maine ever.

YES! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! My GOD YES! Best addition so far, absolutely fantastic! I can understand why Adam (and many others) may not be a fan of this, but since I always make my own mods, I know how I want to use this feature. This broke the camel's back for me: I want to play this game now! I'm so thrilled, SO THRILLED!

THANK YOU, ADAM!

Hopefully Adam has underestimated the community, or at least have given us enough "Caution" as that we won't be over-utilizing this feature.

I too will use this, but it will be for obvious reasons, not for just anyone that has ever been placed together.

Hopefully everyone will realise that Randomness can be better with the majority (like 99%) of the mods out there. I'm not going to utilize it for something like "JeriShow" and if it appears in a mod, I will definately take it out.

#30: Forced Chemistry

Uuh, a shocker of some sort for Friday. I'm not a fan of this either but I do understand the 'need' for this for mods and to people who genualy want to have it in their games. The more options, the better in the end me thinks, no matter what the subject or addition is. I'm just wondering what RW workers would really have TEW described chemistry in the end? I'm hoping just for the sake of the RW mods themselves that mod makers won't end up abusing this feature too much.

I don't really like this feature because I think chemistry is something that should be random and different for every single game. I almost think that this feature is going to make real world mods unplayable because people are going to go over the top with opinionated 'chemistry'... guess it's a good thing I don't play real world mods. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I love the displeasure Adam seemed to take in announcing this feature.
Well, on one hand, I like the feature. It'd be pretty odd to play a real world game, and find that Dean Malenko and Rey Mysterio just didn't have any chemistry at all. But on the other hand it kind of detracts from the whole point of playing TEW - the whole unknown randomness of the world.

What would be the point of playing a real world mod where everyone came pre-set to evolve just the way they did in real life?

Just seems so predictable...

Odd. I was hoping for a feature like this, but now that it's here, there's all these consequences and repercussions.
