ECW On Sy Fy 4/26/11

We head backstage, with the Dudley Boyz attacking the Squared Circle Society in the back. Reginald Douglas is thrown right into the metal garage doors and Wade Barrett nails Bubba in the back with a kendo stick but D-Von flies in, attacking Wade Barrett. Security rushes into the backstage area, as they go flying down. Tommy Dreamer shows up, announcing another Squared Circle Society against the Dudley Boyz match tonight.

Tyler Reks, Curt Hawkins, and Vladimir Koslov defeated Jimmy Wang Yang and the Dudebusters when Hawkins pins Yang with the Flying Elbow Drop in 9:32 A rather impressive six man tag team match, as the announcers talk about how the draft is this Monday and how this could be the last time we could see some of these competitors on ECW. Koslov puts down Yang with a spinebuster and Hawkins drills Yang with a Flying Elbow Drop for the pin. (C-)

The World’s Greatest Tag Team talk about all of the great teams and tonight, they take on one of the more impressive teams, the Wizards of Innovation.

The World’s Greatest Tag Team defeated the Wizards of Innovation when Shelton Benjamin pinned Ace Donovon with a T-Bone Suplex in 8:41 Lots of a high impact, impressive tag team match, with lots of greats high flying action and double teams. But Benjamin catches Donovon with a T-Bone Suplex for the pin. (B-)

The World’s Greatest Tag Team but three figures are out from the crowd. It’s the Fortunate Sons, with Ted DiBiase entering the ring with a shot with a loaded glove right to the back of the head of Charlie Haas, as Brett DiBiase and Joe Hennig are right on top of Shelton, with a series of jabs to the ribs, backing him right into the rope. Dream Street right onto Haas and DiBiase has one of the Unified Tag Team Titles, with Benjamin being whipped right onto the belt shot. The Fortune Sons will take on the World’s Greatest Tag Team and Evan Bourne in a six man tag team match with the Unified Tag Team Title and Intercontinental Title on the line.

Matt Hardy makes his way down to the ring, with the ECW Championship, talking about how each and every week, he defends the title and this week, he’s going to put the belt on the line against another an opponent of Tommy Dreamer’s choosing. It doesn’t matter how many people that Tommy Dreamer put up against him, it is the same way every time. Tommy Dreamer comes out, saying that this will be an Extreme Rules Match and The Sandman is from the crowd, nailing Matt Hardy right in the head with a Singapore Cane shot, before choking him out.

ECW Champion Matt Hardy pinned the Sandman with the Top Rope Twist of Fate right onto two chairs in 8:42 Hardy suffered a series of violent Singapore chairshots, but Hardy fights back, throwing Sandman into the posts and working over his ribs but Sandman fights out from underneath. A chair shot drills Hardy right in the face. Hardy crotches Sandman on the top rope and sets up two chairs, before Hardy hits a Super Twist of Fate right on the chairs, before he pins Sandman. (C+)

Hardy grabs the Singapore Cane and tucks it right underneath the chin of Sandman, pulling it back. Dreamer enters the ring and pulls Hardy off by the hair. The fans are cheering, as Tommy Dreamer squares off against Matt Hardy, but Hardy backs off, pleading for mercy. Sandman has blood dripping from his mouth and Dreamer checks on Sandman. Hardy has the Singapore cane and clocks Dreamer right in the face! The cane shatters right into the eyes of Tommy Dreamer, splintering and Hardy looks sadistic! He might have blinded our ECW General Manager that that cane shot.

We check to the back, with Matt Hardy saying that he has no remorse for what he did and if Dreamer suffered an injury, Hardy mockingly asks if Dreamer is going to cry about it. Hardy says that he’s the ECW Champion and he’s injured pretty much everyone in his path since winning the title.

The Squared Circle Society defeated The Dudley Boyz when Reginald Douglas pinned D-Von after hitting him with a pair of brass knuckles given to him by William Regal in 9:21. A second violent brawl between these two teams, with both teams brawl with each other. William Regal shows up, having not been seen since Wrestlemania since the disbanding of the Illuminati. Barrett and Bubba are down on the floor and Regal removes a pair of brass knuckles from the pocket of his dress shirt and gives them to Douglas, but Reginald Douglas nails D-Von right in the face, taking him down. (B-)

We head to the back, where William Regal talks about how these two men, the Squared Circle Society, are the future of this business. He talks about how he never really cared about the Illuminati, they were a means to his end, a means to kill his time, until he figured out what he wanted to do and all he wanted to do was manage a team straight to the Unified Tag Team Titles. Regal says that he might be done in the ring, but he’s going to give Wade Barrett and Reginald Douglas the benefit of his experience. Bubba Ray Dudley shows up and tries to attack this new trio, but Regal knocks out Bubba with a Knee Trembler and Regal tells Bubba, “mind yourself, sunshine.”

Garrett Steen made Goldust submit to Canada’s Greatest Submission Hold in 10:42 to win the ECW Television Title Brodius Clay watches this match and Goldust is beating on Garrett Steen, but Steen goes right to the knee, working over Goldust. Goldust fights back and Brodius Clay comes into the ring. Goldust goes low on Brodius but Garrett Steen hits a German suplex, before applying Canada’s Greatest Submission Hold, cranking on the legs and Goldust submits. We have a new ECW Television Champion. (B)

The fans are cheering, as two referees and a couple of security guards, with Tommy Dreamer making his way to the ring, gauze wrapped around his eyes and Dreamer talks about how this Sunday, Matt Hardy will be defending the ECW Championship once again. He talks about how Hardy is dangerous, he’s hurt everyone he’s been in the ring with but this time, Matt Hardy is going to be the one that’s going to be hurt. This Sunday, Tommy Dreamer has called on an individual and it’s someone that Matt Hardy knows very well. Could it be…no surely not. Matt Hardy will be defending the ECW Title at Extreme Rules in an Extreme Rules Match against another opponent.
