I've went from start to finish on this thread, and I gotta be honest... I'm still a bit confused as to what the story behind the DreamVerse actually is. Did I just miss something blatantly obvious? You explained some of the backstory on the IWF itself and a number of the characters on the roster are expanded upon through your shows along the way - but is there any backstory on the mod itself? Are these characters based on e-wrestlers? Did you make them up from scratch? Is the DreamVerse actually meant to be a dream? Ya know, some kind of strange fever dream where old-school Undertaker, Bruce Campbell, and Jet Li play the roles of alternate reality pro wrestlers? :p

Anyway, I tossed a bunch of questions out there, so I'll do some predicting in return:

Whew, I'm surprised someone would go from start to finish in this thread for as long as its been going. There's no real backstory to it. Well there is some, but its scattered through various worker bios and such. Most of it is based on e-wrestling I've seen over the years, though I had to create a bunch of generic workers from scratch to fill the ranks of the promotions. Heavily influenced by e-wrestling, though. There are also a few real wrestlers and people in there (Orton and RVD obviously, the original Four Horsemen are in as well, along with George Foreman, and Jay and Silent Bob, and a bunch of porn stars hahaha). The real people have different histories, of course, for the most part anyway.

The only reason I don't expound more on the backstory from before the beginning of the game is, well . . . Honestly? I don't have the energy for it. Between booking the shows, trying to keep my real life straight (which I'm failing at), and working on my books, I just don't have any creative juice left for cosmetic stuff unfortunately.

I hope you might still be interested enough to follow it, though. If you can get into the storylines running at the time, you should have an idea of what's up. My challenge will be keeping these characters fresh for the better part of the next 20 years, because a bulk of IWF's roster is under 25 and I plan on them being around for the long haul.

"Hell Cat" Kate Avatar vs. Brandon Harwell

Kate Avatar is still sore about Brandon Harwell dumping her for Josie Hendrix, and takes it out on him early with a series of stiff kicks and an STO. Avatar whips Harwell into the corner, props him on the turnbuckle, and gives him a top-rope huracanrana. After a moonsault, she gets a two-count. Harwell sprawls and manages to shoot in on Avatar, pulling her into a clinch. He gives her some elbow and knee strikes and busts her open! Harwell throws her into the ropes, then gives her a high knee. Harwell hits a clothesline, then a spinning legdrop for a two-count. Harwell pulls Avatar up, and she gives him a jawbreaker. Avatar takes control and hits a DDT for a two-count. Josie Hendrix gets worried and interjects herself into the matchl. As Avatar pulls Harwell up, Josie nails her with a savate kick. The referee ejects her, and Harwell hits the Cutting Edge, but Avatar kicks out! Harwell tries to whip her into the ropes, but she stops and hits a basty pele kick. Avatar then pulls him up and hits the Avatar Clash for the pin!

Brandon Harwell gets on the mic and congratulates Kate Avatar on her win, saying he hopes this finally settles the matters and brings peace between them after a year of hostility. That's when Devon Storm makes his way down to the ring. He confronts Harwell, and before he can react, Storm hits the Drop Off, leaving Harwell down and out. He says that was for Alex Dunvegan.

Jimmy Dragon is backstage before his match, cutting a promo on Edgar Dunvegan. He says he admires Edgar's desire to increase his standing, but it won't be at the expense of the Dragon. He has long-term plans to take back the IWF World Heavyweight Title, and he needs momentum to do that. He says Edgar most certainly is not ready to "FACE THE DRAGON".

Edgar Dunvegan vs. Jimmy Dragon

In a lackluster match, Edgar Dunvegan and Jimmy Dragon put on a poor match-based fight. Edgar tries to keep him down, but Dragon shoots in on him and scores multiple takedowns, raining punches down on Edgar, busting him open. Edgar gets back into it with an Asai bodyblock for a two-count followed by a guillotine legdrop for a two-count, but Dragon gets fired up and takes control of the match. After the Dragon Fly and the Dragon Driver, Dragon scores the win!
