One company will become dominant; one McMahon will take the glory. The year is 2006 its April and much has happened in the wrestling world. The McMahon family has self destructed after Vince’s affair with WWE Diva Amy ‘Lita’ Dumas over the Christmas period. During the divorce settlement Vince got to keep his beloved WWE as long as he gave up all rights to the WCW and ECW names and video archive also he was forced to give up a number of athletes. No one really knew why Linda had done this at first but it soon became clear when Shane McMahon cut an unscheduled shoot promo during an episode of Raw in February explaining how WCW and ECW would be reopening WCW run by himself and ECW ran by Stephanie and Paul Heyman. Vince was devastated by what has happened to his family, not only did he lose half of everything he owns but now his own family are about to enter into a war with him. Steph has a slightly better relationship with her father where as Shane would like nothing better than to put WWE out of business. Matt Hardy left for WCW after hearing of his former girlfriend’s relationship with Vince, The Rock and Jericho also signed for WCW. Surprisingly Benoit stayed in WWE out of respect for Eddie more than anything. WCW and ECW have a working arrangement and share a lot of talent. The biggest signing would be Bret Hart going to WCW and forming a direct alliance with Shane. A lot of TNA and RoH talent jumped ship to either WCW or ECW leaving TNA struggling. Current Rosters. KevinOmeGa
After months of silence Rajah.com has managed to get an interview with Paul Heyman the Head Booker of Extreme Championship Wrestling, regarding all that has happened over the past few months.
Monday Week 1 April 2006 - 9:56am. Matt Seagull: So Paul what is it like being back in ECW? Well as you know ECW is my baby so its obviously a wonderful thin for me, its like a dream come true to have ECW up and running again, not just for me though for the fans too, they get to see a product they had all but said goodbye too. Matt Seagull: Speaking of the fans Paul, do you think ECW will get back its die hard following of fans it had previously? Without a doubt ECW will have lost a few fans its true but on the whole I think that same crazy fan base will still be there ECW was closed for along time yet people still chanted for it every time they saw something that they considered to be taken from ECW, such as ‘table matches’. ECW can never die really because its fans are so loyal. Matt Seagull: Is it hard not being the owner of the company anymore? Do you find it difficult working with Stephanie as your boss? No not at all Steph is amazingly talented she gives me 100% support and I trust her. Stephanie has assured me that at no time will she interfere in the booking side of ECW and I will at no time interfere with the financial side, which of course will be really difficult for me as I like to know what’s going on in the company at all times. Matt Seagull: What was behind your decision to hire a lot of the old ECW alumni? Do you think I honestly had a choice? The minute we talked about reopening Dreamer and Spike had already put there names down. No, no it was a conscious decision to surround myself with workers I know and can trust like Raven, The Dudley’s, Dreamer, and Sandman. Matt Seagull: What about your decision to hire CM Punk? Well as soon as I first worked with Punk in OVW I knew he was something special in the ring, so when everything went the way it did he was the first guy I called. He was interested straight away. Matt Seagull: Can you explain your choice to bring in the ICP? That is a really easy question to answer, the ICP create chaos they create mayhem but they also create a following, whether you love or hate them you talk about them, that was my main reason for hiring them. Matt Seagull: WEll that is true, So what does the new improved ECW have in store for us and is there any chance of a Raven vs. Dreamer feud again? Its ECW there is always a chance of Raven feuding with Dreamer they have such a storied past, plus Scott and Tommy have amazing chemistry in the ring together, they tell a very believable story. As for what you are gonna see well again its ECW so you may see anything really, anything at all. I will promise you that you will see more blood, more violence and more action than ever before. Matt Seagull: How does ECW fit in with the Monday night wars that are obviously building up? We don’t, for one our TV show is Friday nights not Monday and secondly the main thing is we are putting out a different product, we are not sports entertainment, we are a hardcore, trashy fed with attitude you aren’t gonna see any WCW or WWE type storylines in ECW there will be no one giving birth to a hand or David Arquette winning our world title that’s for sure. Matt Seagull: Well on that note Mr. Heyman I shall end the interview as we are out of time but it’s been a true pleasure having you hear and would you like to close with anything? I’d just like to thank you for having me, and thank each and everyone of the ECW fans for supporting us and I urge you to come check us out as we will be getting into more crazy **** in the coming weeks than you could have ever imagined. KevinOmeGa
wrestle-zone.co.uk had the pleasure of interviewing one of the smartest men in wrestling Scott ‘Raven’ Levy about ECW and many topics, below are just a few of the questions asked…
Speaking with the Raven! Tuesday Week 1 April 2006 Doug Maynard Doug Maynard: So Scott its really great to see and I’m glad you could take the time out to talk to us, I guess the question on everyone’s mind is how does it feel to have ECW back in business and is it going to be the same as it was? Raven: Well first off thanks for having me here, and in regards to ECW of course I’m thrilled to see ECW open its doors again I mean after all I believe ECW and of course Paul Heyman helped me launch my career by giving me an arena to show case Raven every night. In regards to it being the same, no I can’t see it being the same as it was wrestling has changed I mean the world has changed so much since ECW with terrorism on the rise and 9/11 nothing stays the same… Doug Maynard: So you think ECW won’t be as good? Raven: now I never said that, Paul is a genius and he has surrounded himself with a great team which includes Myself and of course Tommy, we also have a lot of really good fresh new athletes and some of the old stars back so I think we will be better than ever. Doug Maynard: So are you in it for the long haul or might you go elsewhere? Raven: Well myself and Paul have come to an agreement so that I can work for other companies if I so desire but my main focus is to ECW I guess its like a PPA deal but I will be devoting a lot of my time to ECW, I want it to become successful as do the fans and all the guys on the Indy scene, it’s a brilliant thing when there is somewhere else opening and guys can work. Pro wrestling is a tough business and a company like ECW is a great place to give guys that start look what happened with people like myself, Shane Douglas, Benoit, The late Eddie Guerrero, The Dudley’s and Rhino just to name a few. Doug Maynard: is there anyone you have asked Paul to put you against, you know anyone you think you can work a great feud with? Raven: Well of course there is Tommy and Phil (CM Punk) I have had great matches with both but there has been a lot of interest if he wants to come work for ECW in a match between myself and Jake Roberts, I think we could tear the roof off night after night without question! Doug Maynard: Is that you issuing a challenge to Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts then? Raven: If that’s how you want to look at it… Yes, it is. Come on Jake if you are man enough come to ECW, lace up those boots and let’s see what you’ve got… You know I have nothing but respect for Jake he is an amazing talent and I’d love to one day work with him, if that’s in ECW then so be it… Doug Maynard: Well I’d like to move on now and ask you a few questions on what you think of the state of WWE since everything that happened? Raven: Well as you know we can’t talk about what went on and who said or did what because out ass would be sued by a Mr. McMahon quicker than you could watch a Goldberg match. WWE right now still has some amazing talent and there is no denying that Vince whether you love him or hate him always manages to stay one step ahead so I think WWE will most likely pull a few surprises out of their hat. Doug Maynard: Is it possible you will see Raven in WWE again? Raven: Well it’s the Mecca in terms of American wrestling isn’t it and they have the big cheque book so never say never, but for now I’m happy with what I’ve got planned… Doug Maynard: So can you tell us any of these plans at all? Raven: No I think you shall all have to wait and see how that progresses but watch ECW this Friday to see the start of the Clockwork orange movement.
Raven went on to talk about his love for his good friend Tommy Dreamer, why he thinks TNA is the best company in America at the minute in terms of work ethic and also mentioned his new comic coming out which he did the art work for himself. Check out that article at www.wrestle-zone.co.uk/Articles/Raven_Doug.htm

The action went back and forth with Father James Mitchell, Tracy Smothers, and Mikey Whipwreck all getting involved. Little Guido was the first to be pinned after a Super Crazy triple jump moonsault then Tajiri who was knocked out by a chair shot from Little Guido who swung the chair at Super crazy. Kid Kash and Super crazy wrestled back and forth until Super Crazy missed a Missile Drop Kick, which allowed Kid Kash to take control and eventually hit the Money Maker and get the three count. Raven: It has been to long since the chants of ECW were free of the WWE stranglehold, and its been far to long since the Raven terrorised and captivated an on looking audience, everything I’ve done up until now has been leading me back to this day, my day of reckoning. They say it’s the Raven’s last chance at gold, but they’ve been saying that with every title shot I get, the truth is that I unlike any other person in professional wrestling today have the obsession for pain, the love of fear and the passion for the title so there is no doubt in my mind or the minds of the idiots fans that Raven will be victorious tonight. Rhino we have had some wars and you have gotten some impressive victories over me in the past but this is a new Raven, I am more sick, more twisted, more devious and maniacal than you could ever imagine, tonight I’m not only going to beat you I am going to destroy you. Jerry Lynn are you still alive I thought you died years ago, maybe you did maybe you didn’t that is another irrelevance as you were never a match for me, whilst you were working your ass off and getting beaten every night I was selling out arena’s, people may pay to come watch me get my ass kicked every night but even that is better than them not even knowing your name Jerry. So tonight after I win the world title, cripple both of you pathetic has bins and proclaim myself the most extreme bastard on the planet you will all look upon me and Quote the Raven nevermore. >Segment 5 – Angle – Bam Bam on the way to hospital = B Bam Bam Bigalow is shown being helped into an ambulance by medical officials. >Segment 6 – Match = B World Tag Team titles match The Impact Players (Lance Strom & Justin Credible) vs. bWo (Super Nova & Stevie Richards) The match was pretty one sided with The Impact players taking control over most of the match after Jason interfered early knocking Super Nova unconscious with a steel chair, before the end of the match both dawn Marie and The Blue Meanie got involved too, in the end it was Lance Storm pinning Stevie Richards after Dawn Marie nailed him with her shoe.
