Burning Hammer Of The Wrestling Gods

Burning Hammer Of The Wrestling Gods have been the commercial giant of pro wrestling for decades, dominating the East in the same way that SWF have done to the West.

The shocking "INSPIRE rebellion" of 2006, when a group of big name dissidents led by company figurehead Tadiyuki Kikkawa walked out in protest over the company's direction, rocked the promotion to the core, and for the first time in over 20 years BHOTWG looked in serious danger of being overtaken by other companies, notably their big rivals PGHW. While BHOTWG remain clinging to their spot as the biggest promotion in Japan, as 2008 begins the gap between them and PGHW is as close as it has ever been.

An important part of BHOTWG is known as the Hinote Dojo, originally the private dojo of Master Kitozon himself, it is currently owned by former BHOTWG Junior Champion Stunner Okazawaya, and acts as a feeder league/training ground to the main promotion.

Recently, head booker Haruki Kudo stepped down from his duties to focus on wrestling and training the new generation of wrestlers. Replacing him is twenty-seven year old journeyman Takayuki Avatoki. Avatoki, despite only being 27 years of age has wrestled far and wide, all over the globe. Can BHOTWG's good fortunes continue, or will they crumble under new leadership? Only time will tell.

Touring Months:

March - April - May - June

September - October - November

Age: 26

Signature Moves: Destiny Bomb

Fierce Spinebuster

Horri Spinebuster

Hurricane Spinebuster

Kinnojo Horri is a home grown talent of BHOTWG. Debuting in 2002, he shot to fame quite quickly with an upset win over Masaaki Okazaki in early 2004, and then moved on to his famous rivalry with Tadiyuki Kikkawa, with the story being that he could never quite beat the legend. He finally achieved that feat in 2006, in Kikkawa's last match with the company. That established the young Horri as Kikkawa's natural successor, and someone who would be part of BHOTWG's "new era".

Sensational Dragon is one of the most talked about talents in Japan. He lost the title to Marihito Masuko at the end of 2006, and their blossoming rivalry is being talked about by some as the second coming of Elemental vs Optimus.

Chuichi Sanda

Honours: Two time Burning World Tag Team Champion [Current]

Age: 36

Signature Moves: Explosion Kick

For years, "Explosive" Chuichi Sanda was considered just a reliable-but-bland middleweight brawler who was light years away from the BHOTWG main event scene. In late 2004, after taking six months off to hone his skills with an intensive training regime, he returned to action and has been wrestling with a new fire ever since. Lately that has resulted in him teaming up regularly with Eiji Hamacho, and they have fast become one of the most dominant new tag teams in Japan.

Recently, he has begun teaming up with Chuichi Sanda regularly, and they have swiftly gelled to become of the best teams in the Earst

Signature Moves: Kiyaru Effect

The Awesome Kiyaru is one of the most popular Junior wrestlers in Japan, just a step behind legends like Optimus and Elemental. After heading to Mexico to gain experience, he joined BHOTWG in 1996, and swiftly became one of the centralfigures in the Junior division. His "gold period" was 2001 to 2003, when eh amazingly won the highly prestigious Best Of The Super Juniors tournament three years running. He has also held the Junior title itself on three seperate occasions.

Golden Scorpion

Age: 31

Honours: Two time Burning Junior Tag Team Champion [Current], one time TCW Cruiserweight Champion

Signature Moves: Scorpion Stinger

Golden Scorpion is a Japanese super junior worker, nicknamed "The Gold And Black Attack". Visually his costume is amazing, especially during his entrance when he wears a full length golden cloak, and he backs that image up with a flashy, spectacular aerial style inside the squared circle. He has gradually been climbing his way up the BHOTWG rankings over the past four years, and a lot of people think that he could be the next big "break out" star that the company are looking for.

Age: 32

Honours: Two time Burning Junior Tag Tem Champion, one time Burning Openweight Champion [Current]

Signature Moves: Konda Driver

Thunder Driver

Kansuke Konda is the self-proclaimed "Big Fight Player of BHOTWG; this is a reference to the fact that although he is a junior wrestler in size, he takes great pride in his ability to use his speed, agility and cunning to take on much bigger opponents. He is a solid, unspectacular worker, especially in comparison to his flashier peers like Optimus and Super Joshuya, and has found most of his success in the tag team division, where his team with Hyosuke Kokan is one of the best around.

Age: 33

Honours: One time Best Of The Super Juniors Winner, two time NOTBPW Ed Henson Memorial Tag Team Cup Winner, two time NOTBPW Tag Team Champion

Signature Moves: Alabaster Agony

From Canada With Love

Black Cobra is the masked alter ego of legendary Canadian wrestler Duane Stone. A member of the famous Stone clan, Duane is widely considered to be one of the best junior-style workers of all time. He originally competed as Black Cobra for BHOTWG back in the 1990s, where he had a superb feud with Optimus. He returned to Canada to work under his real name, and helped establish his father's NOTBPW promotion as being one of the top companies in the world for classic matches. In 2007 he returned to Japane, feeling that he had accomplished all he could in Canada for the time being. Although his skills have diminished silghtly over time, he is still one of the best workers around, and he proved that by winning the prestigious Best Of The Super Juniors tournament within months of his re-debut.

Everest

Age: 34

Honours: One time Burning World Tag Team Champion

Signature Moves: Mountain Mover

Tidal Wave Splash

The near-500lb Elmer Kelly is an American grappler who is better known as his BHOTWG character Everest. Debuting in the mid 1990s, Kelly struglled on the US circuit under his real name, being seen as a clumsy, unfit wreck. He headed to Japan, where he was reborn as Everest; while his skills hadn't improved a great deal, the character was a hit with Japanese fans, and he has remained with BHOTWG ever since. He is most famous for his successful "Alliance 2K" tag team with Yasunobu Masuno

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/FukusaburuInao.jpg

Fukusaburu Inao

Age: 32

Honours: 1993 graduate of the Hinote Dojo

Signature Moves: La Magistral Cradle

Fukusaburu Inao is a fairly average Japanese worker, who has spent much of his career so far drifting from one company to another. He is a decent technical wrestler, consistent as well, and his respected by his peers for his genuine toughness. However, he doesn't excel at anything, and really lacks the spark that all greats have. Over the past few years he seems to have settled into a role with BHOTWG in which he is the tag team partner of whoever needs one.

Super H-Bomb

"The H-Bomb" Hiroaki Nakasawa is a heavyweight competitor, and one of BHOTWG's new generation of stars. He had been groomed for success for many years, and after the INSPIRE debacle of 2006 left BHOTWG needing a new direction, Nakasawa got his change to shine. He defeated Bruce The Giant tow in the world championship toward the end of the year, and now looks set to try to help lead BHOTWG into a new era.

Hooded Kudo (AKA a masked Haruki Kudo) is one of the biggest names in the wrestling world. A great worker and showman, he has appeared on major shows in the USA, Canada and Mexico, as well as headlining countless Japanese events. He is best known for his BHOTWG run, where for over two decades he has been a major player, and is one of a select band to have held the prestigious Burning World Championship on more than two occasions.

He recently stepped down as head booker of BHOTWG to focus on wrestling and training the next generation of wrestlers.

Signature Moves: Samoan Sitting Splash

Super Samoan Drop

Kanishoki, whose real name is Mosi Tua, is a Samoan who was brought up in Tokyo, and who was moderately successful in the world of sumo. After leaving sumo, the 460lb powerhouse started training for pro wrestling, and was soon picked up by BHOTWG who saw his potential to be a unique and marketable star.

He is part of the extended Samoan family in wrestling, being a cousin of Tana "The Mighty" Muliaina, of TCW fame.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/MitsunariFugunaga.jpg

Mitsunari Fugunaga

Age: 28

Honours: 1998 graduate of the PGHW Dojo

Signature Moves: N/A

Mitsunari Fugunaga is a sold young Japanese wrestler. For most of his career he bounced around the independent circuit without much focus, working a semi-comedic gimmick that really only served to obscure the fact that hew as actually a decent competitor. In 2007 he was hired by BHOTWG and promptly given a makeover; his head was shaved to give him a more serious look, his gaudy yellow tights and boots were replaced with black trunks and MMA-style shin guards, and his comedy mannerisms were removed entirely, making way for a ruthless fighter.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/Miyamae.jpg

Miyamae

Age: 36

Honours: One time Burning Junior Champion, two time Burning World Tag Team Champion [Current], two time World Level Wrestling Tag Team Champion, 1989 graduate of the Tokyo Wrestling Dojo

Signature Moves: Miyamae Spoiler

Natsu Miyamae is most well known as being one half of an ultra successful tag team with Ken Shimedzu in Japan called The Rebellion, a duo who have dominated in BHOTWG. A superb all-rounder, unlike his partner he has also managed much success as a singles worker, including winning the highly prestigious BHOTWG Junior title. This was back when he was a junior level wrestler, but recently both he and Shimedzu intentionally bulked up so that they could enter the heavyweight divisions, too.

Nissho Yuasa

Signature Moves: Thunder Drop

"Baby Elephant" Nissho Yuasa is a young powerful fighter, who is just beginning his career having been trained in the BHOTWG dojo. the Japanese fans gave him his nickname due to his plodding, powerful style of wrestling, and the fact that most opponents have trouble just getting him off his feet. With his unique look and style he has the potential to be a break-out star for the promotion, but he really needs to improve his cardio condition before he can progress any further.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/SanetomoShiraishi.jpg

Sanetomo Shiraishi

Age: 43

Honours: Two time Burning World Tag Team Champion, one time Burning Openweight Champion, 1982 graduate of the Hinote Dojo

Signature Moves: Lizard Clutch

Swandive Headbutt

Sanetomo Shiraishi is a solid performer, and BHOTWG loyalist, whose career was put on hold for an entire year in 2003 due to a serious knee injury that still effects his to this day and has resulted in him wearing a knee brace during all his matches. He is seen as a very consistent and reliable person to have on the roster. Recently he has found a degree of fame in the tag team ranks, where alongside Sessue Kawate he has captured two BHOTWG tag team titles.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/SessueKawate.jpg

Sessue Kawate

Age: 43

Honours: Two time Burning World Tag Team Champion

Signature Moves: Freeze Frame

"The Snow Man" Sessue Kawate is a veteran brawler from Japan, who is instantly recognisable for his (natural) shock of white hair. He used to be a huge potential star when he first broke into BHOTWG as a young man, but his cocaine habit has left him a shell of his old self, and has resulted in him getting released by the promotion on several occasions already. In recent times his career has been stabilised, as he has found big success in the tag team ranks alongside Sanetomo Shiraishi.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/Shimedzu.jpg

Shimedzu

Age: 37

Honours: Two time Burning World Tag Team Champion, two time World Level Wrestling Tag Team Champion, 1988 graduate of the Golden Dojo

Signature Moves: Shimedzu Skull Drop

Ken Shimedzu is famous in Japane for his long-running tag team with Natsu Miyamae, The Rebellion, which has been one of the most successful of all time, especially in BHOTWG. Shimedzu is a great worker in his own right, being able to work in virtually any style, and he is vastly under-rated as a singles worker. Originally both he and Miyamae were classed as junior-level wrestlers, but they recently intentionally increased their muscle mass so that they could compete with heavyweights too.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/TadakuniToshusai.jpg

Tadakuni Toshasui

Age: 25

Honours: One time Burning World Tag Team Champion, 2000 graduate of the Hinote Dojo

Signature Moves: Shock Treatment

"The Shocker" Tadakuni Toshasui is a young BHOTWG prospect, who came up through their youth ranks. While not a fantastic worker, he is one of the most charismatic workers in the East, and is especially noted for having the best facial expressions during matches that you'll ever see. In 2006 he formed a World Tag Team title winning duo with Koshiro Ino, and they looked like they could become a great tandem - Ino's subsequent freelance status and arrival in TCW has changed that, however.

Takayuki Avatoki

Age: 27

Honours: 1999 graduate of the Hinote Dojo

Signature Moves: Lariat

Moonsault

"Iron Man" Takayuki Avatoki is a superb wrestler from Tokyo, Japan. Boasting a true warrior's spirit he is at his very best when going toe-to-toe with an opponent and showing the heart and drive that the Japanese public love. He is particularly noted for his incredible cardio, hence his nickname. Gifted with a fine mind for the business, he has recently joined BHOTWG as their new head booker, replacing Haruki Kudo.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/TigerFuyuki.jpg

Tiger Fuyuki

Age: 33

Honours: N/A

Signature Moves: Flying Tiger Arm Bar

Kaneie "Tiger" Fuyuki is a solid reliable wrestler from the East. He worked under the name Kaneie Ichihara for many years, the name being a sign of respect to the legendary Hito Ichihara, who had helped him get into the business as a favour to Kaneie's father. Recently he has witched to his real name, although he is more often called Tiger (a nickname he's had for a while) than Kaneie. Ke is far from a spectacular worker, but he knows how to work a match and rarely disappoints. That reliability is probably what prompted BHOTWG to sign him in 2007, in order to add depth to their midcard.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/ToshikiShibanumo.jpg

Toshiki Shibanumo

Age: 39

Honours: One time GCG World Heavyweight Tag Team Champion

Signature Moves: Sidewalk Slam

Toshiki Shibanumo is an ultra-reliable all-round performer who can work a match with just about any wrestler of any style, but who has never gotten as far as his talents deserve simply because of a staggering complete lack of charisma. He seems to be endlessly stuck in the midcard, no matter what the promotion. The one time he almost caught on was when he worked for GCG, and his tag team with Toshinobu Taku won the tag team titles, but that fizzled out after they lost the belts.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/YasuhikoTaira.jpg

Yasuhiko Taira

Age: 29

Honours: 1996 graduate of the Hinote Dojo

Signature Moves: The Flattener

Wrecking Ball

"The Bulldozer" Yasuhiko Taira is a big powerful brawler, who has a very bright future, as he has the right combination of skills, toughness, charisma, discipline and looks. He has already been tipped as a future world champion by many, and BHOTWG clearly agree, as they've been slowly grooming him for success. He is seen as one of the new generation of BHOTWG stars who are being slowly brought into the main event scene to replace the old guard.

Age: 25

Honours: One time Burning World Tag Team Champion

Signature Moves: Avalanche Bomb

Day Of Reckoning

Masuno Deep Sleeper

Yasunobu Masuno is one fo the biggest native wrestlers in Japan, and is a fine aggressive brawler. A natural heel thanks to his trademark ****y manner, BHOTWG have clearly had big plans for him for a while. He originally got a taste of fame when he was teamed up with the massive American fighter Everest, and the two were a huge success in the tag ranks. With that team now broken up and inactive, it is clear that Masuno is now being positioned for future singles glory.

JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT ROSTER

Elemental III

Age: 20

Honours: N/A

Signature Moves: Earth Breaker

Inferno Splash

The debut of the third incarnation of the Elemental character had been a topic of conversation for many years prior to the actual event in August 2007. Questions over whether anyone could be found who was worthy enough to continue the lineage of the mask, whether that person should be Japanese or not, and how the debut should be handled were all posed. In the end, the debut was a hugh success, as Elemental II used his final match to team up with his protege to defeat traditional Elemental foes Optimus and Black Cobra. Nobody is quite sure who is behind the mask, but it is known that he was trained by both men who have worn the mask before him. Whether he can attain the same levels of success as they managed is something BHOTWG fans are keen to find out.

Honours: Two time Burning Junior Tag Team Champion

Honours: One time Best Of The Super Juniors Winner, one time Burning Junior Champion

Signature Moves: Masuko Cradle

Masuko Cradle Shock

Marihito Masuko is a visually stunning wrestler who debuted as part of the exciting BHOTWG Junior division in 2004. Quite green to begin with, over the following two years he improved rapidly, which can be attributed to the quality opponents he was facing. In June 2006 he had his first big victory, winning the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament, and that was the springboard he needed to capture his first BHOTWG Junior title by the end of the year.

+ - Currently injured, out for 5 months with a shattered knee.

Optimus is one of the most famous wrestlers in Japanese history. Optimus went on to be the face of junior wrestling for the next two decades, racking up an incredible eight title runs by 2004. While his skills are now faded with age, and he is approaching retirement, he is still one of the best junior wrestlers around.

Honours: Two time 4C Hardcore Champion, one time 4C Tag Team Champion

Signature Moves: Tumbleweed Legdrop

Phenomenal E (AKA Ed Larkins) is a high flying Canadian worker, who is closely associated with the 4C promotion, having been a constant force on their roster since his debut in 2003. His trademark is his reckless disregard for his own safety, which allows him to launch some of the most spectacular aerial assaults arounds, including his trademark cannonball dive from the top rope into the front row. Unfortunately, that style also means that even at a young age, he is already physically battered. December 2007 saw Larkins acheive one of his long-time dreams as he was hired by Japanese giants BHOTWG to play a new character, Red Panther.

He then returned to his homeland, where he joined BHOTWG's famous junior division. While he has only managed a single reign as junior champion, he is highly regarded as one of the backbones of the division, having consistently good matches.

A graduate of the company's dojo, he spent the new few years gaining experience working on the undercard. In 2004, feeling that he had improved sufficiently, the company put him under the hood of VENOM, and began pushing him as one of the new threats to the Junior title.

White Samurai is the protege and succesor of the famous Junior worker Scarlet Samurai. The character is played by Mototsune Sanda (no relation to Noriyori Sanda, the PGHW worker), a young worker who Scarlet discovered working independent shows in 2005, and took under his wing. With his mentor's help, White Samurai has improved dramatically in his in-ring performances, and looks to be on the verge of big things, perhaps taking the Samurai name to new heights. That goal got a lot closer in 2007 when he was signed by BHOTWG to compete in their junior division, the same place in which his mentor had fuoght his most memorable battles.

Honours: One time Burning World Championship (Original version)

Dayu Ichihara is a tragic figure from Japan's past. He was one of the best wrestlers of his era, first with GCG, and then as one of the wrestlers who helped BHOTWG rise. In 1971 he became the first man to dethrone Master Kitozon as BHOTWG champion, and was one of a very select band who are seen as being on the same level as Kitozon. Tragically, at the height os his fame, Ichihara died in 1975, when a routine operation went wrong. He was survived by his daughter, who works as Crusher Ichihara.

Elemental, the first man to play that character, is one of the most legendary figures in Japan, and perhaps the greatest high flier of all time. It was his emergence as a mainstream star in the 1970s that helped cement BHOTWG as the major promotion in Japan, and also led to the creation of the Super Junior style. A former three time Burning Junior champion, his famous feud with Optimus over that title is consider by many to be one of the best of all time.

Signature Moves: Earth Breaker

Elemental II is played by Masafumi Fuchida, and is the second incarnation of the most legendary super junior character in Japan. He took over from the original Elemental in 1987, and immediately continued the long-running feud that Elemental had had with Optimus over the BHOTWG Junior title. Over the course of his career, he would hold the belt on five occasions, two more than the original character ever managed. He retired in August 2007, his final match being a tag team encounter against legendary foes Optimus and Black Cobra in which he unveiled the debuting Elemental III as his tag team partner, thus passing the torch to the next generation.

Honours: Three time Burning World Champion (Original version)

Master Kitozon is the most legendary Japanese wrestler of all time, surpassing mere superstardom and reaching the status of cultural icon. After beginning his career with GCG, he went on to become the key figure in the rise and eventual dominance of BHOTWG. He sadly passed away in 1986 at the age of 59, just five years after retiring from active competition.

Recently appointed BHOTWG head booker Takayuki Avatoki held a press conference today, the first since his shock appointment.

"Business will continue as usual," Avatoki started the conference with a big grin, well aware of the rumours that had been circulating throughout the wrestling community, "Nothing will change drastically."

Avatoki then introduced two men, Burning World Champion Kinnojo Horri and 2007 Best Of The Super Juniors winner Black Cobra. Avatoki quickly pointed out that June was the scheduled month for the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament and said that this would go ahead as normal. A twelve-man tournament is to be held. Two groups of six in a round-robin tournament before the top two wrestlers from each group moved onto the next round, which would be straight knockout.

"I will win the tournament again, there is no doubt," Black Cobra interupted Avatoki and held up his 2007 trophy, "This is a symbol stating that I was the best super junior in 2007 - that fact has yet to change, so I will be taking the trophy yet again."

Avatoki quickly regained control of the conference and announced the list of twelve competitors. Representing BHOTWG would be Black Cobra, Elemental III, Golden Scorpion, Hyosuke Kokan, Optimus, Sensational Dragon, Super Josuhya and The Awesome Kiyaru.

"The final four spots will be occupied by outsiders, Bairei Yasujiro and Hell Monkey from World Level Wrestling, Eagle Kawasawa from Golden Canvas Grappling, and flying in from Mexico will be OLLIE's El Leon," Avatoki seemed pleased with the tournament participants, "We are of course dissappointed that (Marihito) Masuko could not take part in the tournament, but injuries happen and we don't want him to rush back without being prepared."

Finally, with the biggest news of the conference, Avatoki announced that a war was coming to BHOTWG and that he had arrived to prepare them. Kinnojo Horri said that he was ready for any challenge that could be coming his way and shook hands with Avatoki. After a few moments, five men walked in, all wearing hoodies so their faces were covered. They walked in front of the press conference table and in unison removed their hoods to reveal their faces.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/FukusaburuInao.jpg

Former PGHW Glory Crown Champion Eisaku Hoshino began to yell at the reporters.

"We are the war! Bairei Yasujiro! Frankie Perez! Hell Monkey! Fukusaburu Inao! We will crush the Burning spirit and show you all to be the worthless dogs you are! We... are... POISON!" Hoshino quickly moves towards Kinnojo Horri and gets in his face, "I come for your title, big man."

In what seems like a quick flash, POISON leaves the conference as quickly as they entered it, leaving the crowd stunned.

Age: 37

Honours: One time Campeon de Herencia de Mundo MPWF, one time World Level Wrestling Universal Champion

Signature Moves: Yasujiro Suplex

Bairei Yasujiro is a sensational Japanese wrestler, renowned for his high-risk, daredevil moves. He spent his early career travelling the world to pick up skills, working for promotions from Germany to Mexico. During his time in Mexico he even became a big star for MPWF, holding their main title during 1993. He would sometimes work occasional dates for BHOTWG during this time. In 2006, he decided to settle down in Japan, and surprisingly chose to work for World Level Wrestling.

Eagle Kawasawa [GCG]

Age: 25

Honours: N/A

Signature Moves: Vision Quest

Eagle Kawasawa is a masked high flier who has started to get over with Japanese fans thanks to his graceful aerial style and ability to come back from lots of punishment. He was originally trained by Japanese legend Optimus for one year, and that shows in some of his moves and mannerisms. strangely, he has been working for GCG since 2003, when WLW or BHOTWG's Junior division seem like far more natural fits for a wrestler of his style.

Signature Moves: Godzilla Plunge

Nuclear Death Bomb

Eisaku Hoshino is hugely popular in Japan, where the fans love his tenacity and spirit. He was one of PGHW's aces until August 2006, when his poor relationship with head booker and rival Nobuatsu Tatsuko caused him to sensationally leave the company, declaring that he would work as a freelance wrestler instead. That brought an end to a hugely successful decade with the company, during which he had won just about every single honour available to him.

Already a former OLLIE champion at a young age, many consider El Leon to be a future legend in the sport, and he is tipped to be one of the men who has the potential to bring the glory days back to Mexican wrestling. He is particularly known for his heated and often bloody feud with former friend El Critico.

A true student of the game, he is not only looking to cintue to rise in CZCW, but has also made it clear that he'd like to travel to Japan to compete.

Tumbling Monkey

Hell Monkey is a superb fighter from New York City, who is famous for his visually awesome entrance mask (he removes it when he actually wrestlers). He has a very modern style to his ring work, blending incredibly stiff strikes with the technical skills and aerial ability of a Super Junior wrestler. He first came to people's attention in USPW, but his style didn't really fit with the promotion, and soon he was off to Japan, where he has become one of World Level Wrestling's favourite foreigners.

No matter where he works, or under what name, he clearly has the tools to be a huge success - good looks, a great muscular physique, power, surprising agility and a lot of charisma. It seems only a matter of time before superstardom comes calling.

Signature Moves: Sunrise Hold

Flying Forearm

Masutaro Kataoka is a very good Japanese all-round worker who ahs surprisingly not been given an opportunity with any other major groups since being released by BHOTWG in late 2003. He wrestled for the company for 10 years, and gained a reputation for being a very reliable performer, and many still wonder why they released him. He is well known for two big moves in particular, a double arm suplex into a backbreaker, and his finsiher, a raised single leg crab ("Sunrise Hold").

He was soon picked up by CGC in Canada, and has steadily progressed from the opening matches to become one of the company's most consistent midcard performers. In 2007 he replaced the departed John Maverick as the resident submission master in the promotion's primary heel stable, Elite, giving a whole new boost to his career. There are many insiders who believe that Deeley could go on to become a big star, and use his amateur skills to help bring realistic wrestling back to the mainstream.

Utamuro Nishimuraya [Freelance]

Age: 36

Honours: N/A

Signature Moves: Panther Plex

Utamuro Nishimuraya is a high flying worker who has decent skills. He was a part of BHOTWG's thriving junior division during the 1990s, wrestling both under his real name and under a mask as Green Panther, but never looked close to being as good as the greats like Optimus. Age has reduced his skills from their peak, but he can still work a decent match even if he is approaching retirement. His trademark finisher, a full nelson suplex known as the Panther Plex, is highly respected.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/BHOTWG.jpg

In a last minute pre-tour press conference called to announce some of the tour matches, Takayuki Avatoki spoke with a distinct lack of enthusiasm as he announced the bad news.

"Chuichi Sanda has been injured whilst working for Golden Canvas Grappling," he sighed and looked at Sanda and his fellow World Tag Team Champion Eiji Hamacho before continuing, "He will be out for a long time. On top of that, Eiji has decided it is time to move on."

"I am done with wrestling full-time. I would prefer to train and help with other duties," Hamacho seemed relatively upbeat about his decision, "It has been a long time coming. My body can't hold up the way it used to, and with Chuichi out, singles competition doesn't seem like a great prospect for me."

Avatoki went on to explain that Sanda had suffered a horrible concussion whilst working a match for Golden Canvas Grappling, speaking on behalf of the still affected Sanda.

"We may not see him this year," Avatoki seemed devastated by the news, "We may never see him wrestle again. But we must remain hopeful."

The most important issue was the fact that the Burning World Tag Team titles were now vacant. Avatoki said that a decision had not yet been made on how to replace the champions, but said that a small tournament was likely. To finish off the conference, Avatoki ran down the match listings for the first two shows on their tour.

"Fire Dream Of The Immortals Tour"

Monday, Week 1, March 2008

1. Sensational Dragon vs Utamuro Nishimuraya

Dragon is one of the next generation stars of the Junior Division, I'm guessing Nishimuraya has just been brought back to provide solid veteran job fodder.

2. "Shooter" Sean Deeley vs Mitsunari Fugunaga

Deeley has the skillset to succeed in Japan, and I can see him picking up a debut win here.

3. Sessue Kawate & Sanetomo Shiraishi vs Black Magic (Yasuhiko Taira & Yasunobu Masuno)

To answer FINisher Black Magic are not Young Lions but they are plodding slow, and will blow up after about five minutes and have extremely bad hair. Actually I'm being harsh on Masuno who does have potential to be a good heavyweight but Taira totally blows. Mind you the other team is just old and not particularly good either. So the team heading into their prime should trump the pair past their sell by date.

4. Black Cobra vs Hyosuke Kokan

Kokan's a solid worker but Cobra is in a different league.

5. Jack Marlowe vs Tadakuni Toshusai

Marlowe's established enough in Japan to get the win here, over someone who has career mid-carder written all over them.

6. The Rebellion (Shimedzu & Miyamae) vs Hooded Kudo & Hiroaki Nakasawa

I'll go for the duo who can actually work well as a team picking up the win here, mind you I can just as easily see it going the other way.

7. Kinnojo Horri, Takayuki Avatoki, Optimus, Super Joshuya & Elemental III vs POISON (Eisaku Hoshino, Fukasuburu Inao, Bairei Yasujiro, Hell Monkey & Frankie Perez)

For the simple fact that on the POISON side I don't think Frankie Perez would be over enough to be on the winning side withiout it doing damage to some of the workers overness on the home team.

"Fire Dream Of The Immortals Tour"

Wednesday, Week 1, March 2008

1. The Awesome Kiyaru & Golden Scorpion vs Hyosuke Kokan & Kansuke Konda

I'm guessing this is for the Junior Tag belts, if it isn't non title I see you keeping them on Kiyaru & Scorpion.

2. Sean Deeley vs Tiger Fuyuki

Deeley gets on a bit of a win streak, with a win over another relatively bland midcarder.

3. Miyamae vs Toshiki Shibanumo

Shibanumo is probably the blandest worker on the entire BHOTWG roster and when in the ring against anyone but a Young Lion should be treated as pure job fodder.

4. Eagle Kawasawa vs Hell Monkey

For someone who was trained by the legendary Optimus, Kawasawa actually isn't all that good, he's solid but he's far from great. Hell Monkey on the other hand has all the potential to be a strong force in the Junior Division.

5. Tadakuni Toshasui & Masutaro Kataoka vs Jack Marlowe & Everest

The Big Powerful Gaijin's to pick up the win in this one. In my opinion the Gaijins (if over enough and not a young lion) should trump the lower end Japanese workers to look like a threat but should ultimately get beaten by the upper tier Japanese.

6. Kinnojo Horri vs Fukasuburu Inao

Keep the champion strong and Inao shouldn't be anywhere near the World Title.

7. Takayuki Avatoki vs Eisaku Hoshino

Unless you plan on Takayuki Avatoki being a 'Marty Sue', The leader ? of the invaders should pick up a win on his singles debut.

The first match of the evening saw Burning Junior Champion Sensational Dragon take on the returning veteran Utamuro Nishimuraya. The match saw Nishimuraya heel it up, working over Dragon's right knee with two low dropkicks and a painful leglock variation. Nishimuraya showed flashes of brilliance throughout the match, showing why he was quite highly regarding during the 1990s. Utilizing a more ground based approach for much of the match, he moved onto some big moves off the top rope towards the end when he could not put the Junior Champion away. Nishimuraya's efforts meant little in the end, however, as Dragon took control of the match in the last couple of minutes after a spinning heel kick gave him the opportunity to ascend to the top rope and hit a beautiful missle dropkick. Dragon wrapped the match up with a Sensation Shock, much to the crowd's approval. [C-]

Young Canadian prodigy "Shooter" Sean Deeley came out to a welcoming clap from the crowd who were unfamiliar with the technical wizard. His opponent would be the similarly sized Mitsunari Fugunaga, who made his way to the ring and wasted little time before beginning to brawl with Deeley. Fugunaga quickly took the match to the outside much to the referee's chagrin, working Deeley over by throwing him into the rail surrounding the ring. When back in the ring, the two actually put on quite a display with Fugunaga being perhaps the perfect first opponent for Deeley, as their styles complemented each other quite well. Deeley was allowed the opportunity to show off his many suplexes, much to the crowds delight. The crowd roared with approval when Fugunaga was dumped on his head after an incredible German suplex. It was not to be for Deeley, however, as Fugunaga resorted to underhanded tactics to win the match. He took the padding off of one of the turnbuckles, misdirecting the referee, before nailling Deeley with an illegal low blow, before hitting a brainbuster just as the referee turned around, leading to the pinfall victory. Neither team were warmly received by the crowd, but that did little to bother any of the competitors. The opening stages of the match saw Kawate brawl with both Taira and Masuno, and the match was little more than that until Shiraishi was tagged in and decided to ground his larger opponents and try to force them to submit. The match moved along at a slow pace due to the low cardio levels of all involved except for Shiraishi and to a lesser extent Masuno. Kawate seemed capable of little more than wild brawling for a minute or two before tagging out for a breather. Both members of Black Magic took their turns in dominating their opponents for much of the mattch before Taira eventually put Kawate out of his misery with a Wrecking Ball and then a pinfall. In what could be viewed as a warm up match for this year's Best Of The Super Juniors tournament, last year's winner Black Cobra took on "The Electric Live Wire" Hyosuke Kokan in a hotly contested match up. Kokan had his tag team partner Kansuke Konda at ringside, on hand to stop any cheating from his opponent. Kokan had the early advantage after Cobra missed a flying knee drop and injured himself. Kokan worked over Cobra, weaking him up for the Electric Shocker Clutch, but after a big back drop from Cobra, it was a stalemate. Cobra gained the upperhand after a backstabber, and quickly locked in his finisher, the Alabaster Agony, which caused Kokan to tap out very quickly, in order to avoid a serious back injury. With Tadakuni Toshusai waiting in the ring, a heavy metal riff announced the arrival of the new American, Jack Marlowe. Marlowe marched to the ring, debuting not just himself, but what appeared to be a signature weapon - a chair with an airbrushed painting of the American flag on the seat. Marlowe placing the chair in one of the ring's corners along with his headband and got the match underway. Marlowe and Toshusai had no hesitations in trying to beat the hell out of each other, in what can only be described as a brawl, with the crowd firmly behind Toshusai. Marlowe impressed the crowd with his skill, but quickly reminded them that he was to be hated by taking the fight to the outside and taking advantage of his surroundings, sending Toshusai into the guardrail before mercilessly attacking him with his custom chair, despite the pleas of the referee to return the match to the ring. Marlowe continued to control the match with his underhanded tactics until Toshusai decided that enough was enough and managed to get his foot up and kick Marlowe's chair back in his face. Toshusai managed to string together some big moves, a back drop, a big lariat and finally, with Marlowe propped up against the corner, a running big boot. Toshusai's luck run out, however, when he missed an elbow drop off the top rope and Marlowe managed to regain control after an eye rake, and a series of big kicks and forearm shots. Marlowe weakened Toshusai with a backbreaker, before finishing him off with a Jackhammer that shook the ring, earning the American a win on debut. [C]

A match that could've main evented the show, the much hated duo of Shimedzu & Miyamae, known as The Rebellion stormed their way to the ring. The crowd erupted when the unmistakable wail of Hooded Kudo's theme music played out and the legend himself made his way to the ring with "The H-Bomb" Hiroaki Nakasawa following closely behind. The fan favourites wasted little time in getting in the ring, causing The Rebellion to bail out. The match got underway with Kudo and Miyamae locking up with a collar and elbow tie up, with Kudo pushing Miyamae into the corner to deliver some sickening chops to the chest. The opening stages of the match saw Kudo run through his basic spots. Showing off his quickness by trading arm drags, his cunning by clipping his opponents knee, and his strength by reversing a headlock into a back drop. Nakasawa was affored the opportunity to fight as well, focusing on the leg of Natsu Miyamae, by lifting him up and dropping Miyamae's shin into his knee. Miyamae managed to poke Nakasawa in the eye and tag out to Shimedzu who made the mistake of deliving a massive open hand strike to Nakasawa's face. The H-Bomb exploded with forearm shots, big open hand strikes, chops, and kicks before sending Shimedzu crashing to the ground with a massive chokebomb. It was not all one sided however, as The Rebellion got their chance to shine with their dastardly heel tactics, focusing on quick tags and taking away Hiroaki's power advantage by working over his right arm. Nakasawa managed to hit Miyamae with a few big fore arm blows, but Miyamae was able to duck one and take Nakasawa down, trapping him in an armbar variation. Back on their feet, Miyamae grabbed Nakasawa's arm and wrenched it around, only to be pulled in by Nakasawa and lariatted with his left arm. Nakasawa quickly tagged out to Kudo who charged in just as Miyamae tagged out to Shimedzu. Kudo took Shimedzu down with a spinebuster, then hit Miyamae with his patented Kudo Kutter, before turning his attention towards Shimedzu. Shimedzu charged, Kudo threw out a lariat, Shimedzu ducked and bounced off the ropes, hitting Kudo with a spear. On the outside Miyamae sneaks around to the other side of the ring and pulls Hiroaki Nakasawa off of the ring apron, attacking him at ringside. Back in the ring Shimedzu lifts Kudo up ready for the Shimedzu Skull Drop... GREEN MIST FROM KUDO! Shimedzu drops Kudo and staggers around. Kudo dashes forwards... Kudo Kutter! Hooded Kudo steals the match! [b-]

POISON made their way to the ring as a unit, coming through the crowd and not through the entranceway. Their leader, Eisaku Hoshino, was presenting himself in a vastly different way to how he had during his time as PGHW's golden boy. Hoshino was heeling it up, throwing up middle fingers left and right, and shouting at the crowd. Their opponents made their way out to the Burning Hammer Of The Wrestling Gods theme music and are greeted with many cheers. The heavyweights, Horri and Avatoki, discuss who is going to start the match, with Avatoki getting the nod whilst for POISON, Hoshino sends the other four to the ring apron. Avatoki gives Hoshino one last chance to show respect, extending his hand to the leader of POISON, only to have Hoshino spit in his face and jumpstart the match by throwing an illegal closed fist punch that sends Avatoki tumbling onto the ground and towards his team's corner. Horri tags in, tapping Avatoki's shoulder and the crowd cheers as Horri walks straight up to Hoshino and delivers a punch of his own right to his jaw. Hoshino and Horri begin to brawl around the ring with both men throwing their fair share of punches as the referee tries to regain control of the match. Hoshino eventually gets dazed up against the ropes, giving Horri the opening to lariat him from the ring. Horri waves to the crowd who cheer in approval, but he gets nailled from behind by Fukasuburu Inao. Avatoki enters the ring to help his partner out and eventually all ten men are brawling in the middle of the ring. Horri manages to toss Perez to the outside, with Elemental III then executing a perfect plancha to take the American out once more. Inao and Avatoki tumble to the outside after a vicious lariat from Avatoki sends both men over the top rope. Hell Monkey superkicks Super Joshuya from the ring and follows him out, jumping off of the ring apron and tackling Joshuya to the ground, before continuing to brawl with him on the outside of the ring. Hoshino has Horri tied up in the corner, choking him with his wrist tape. The legend Optimus stands across the ring from perhaps the best high flier in the world, Bairei Yasujiro. Both men rush forward and trade arm drags. Yasujiro gets hit with an enzuigiri. Optimus brings Yasujiro to his feet and hits his trademark O-Bomb, sending Yasujiro rolling to the outside. With order finally, somewhat restored, the referee turns his attention to Hoshino and reprimands him for choking Horri. Following the all out opening the match slows down, with each man cycling in and out of the match, with everyone getting a decent amount of offense in, and looking quite good. The main story of the match, however, was Horri vs Hoshino. Whenever Hoshino tagged in, Horri would demand to be tagged in and vice versa. The match made it obvious that Kinnojo Horri had a new competitor to worry about when it came to his Burning World Title. The match came to an abrupt end when another brawl broke out, before Hoshino managed to hit Elemental III with his devastating finisher - the Godzilla Plunge, leaving Elemental immobile after dropping him on his neck and getting the pinfall. After the match finished POISON wasted no time in leaving the arena the way they came - through the crowd. [B]
