Ranson
Okay, so I'm trying to drive a smaller promotion (MAW) out of business so that I can hire it's owner and head booker to roles in my company. I'm national about to pop up to international, they're small. I don't want to go to war and possibly engender bad feelings; I just want to give them that little nudge into bankruptcy that'll make Rip Chord available to me as a road agent/personality. I've already hired away his best talent (not a bad deal for my company, they're talented and came cheap), save for one who's affected by a separate non-aggression pact, and the one working as his booker. Are there any other "dirty tricks" that I can use without going into open warfare?
MJStark
You can always make their life tricky by reducing their cash & prestige to zero in the editor
Tyler Gadzinski
Have you tried Buying them out yet?
Ranson
I don't think that buying them out is an option in 2005; I could be wrong, though. They're current worth is about $35,000, and I've got a hundred times that in handy cash. Using the editor sorta defeats the purpose, in my mind. If I was going to run in "god mode", I wouldn't have had this issue in the first place.
MJStark
True. Raid their roster over and over just before they are due to run shows, that way their shows will be dross and they should lose money quicker? Its definately a tricky one
Derek B
Hire their workers on a PPA deal then schedule a show for the same day. If you make sure that you use all of the shared workers then they'll all work for you, forcing them to cancel their show. With Rip's pricetag I doubt they'll be able to make any money and they'll start losing popularity after a while of not running shows... as they spiral down, the win will be yours. Okay, That's sort of what I was doing anyway, minus the PPA deals. I had even signed away his ref, as he was previously working for both of us. Thanks for the advice, folks...
