WCW 2000:The Dying Years

Recommended Posts

Disclaimer:This is a thought I bounced back and forth before doing this, so that other one(Wwe 2004) is officially dead. So this takes place in January 2000. Once again, I will not use TEW 2008, just my free hands. So, enjoy!

1996 was the year the Monday Night Wars began. WCW and WWF went head to head every Monday nights, a wrestling fan's dream. Soon, WCW took the early advantage thanks to the NWO led by former WWF wrestler Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. The NWO quickly led WCW to a Golden Age. Then, in 19997, the tide began to turn. Vince McMahon changed everything about the WWF, the logo, the stage, the intro theme and every the targeted audience. Once a PG show soon became the Attitude Era and thus, WWF became more edgy. With the likes of DX, Stone Cold, Bret Hart, and others, WWF gained new life and made the Monday Night Wars a war again. Plus with the cult ECW slowly rising, this was wrestling's Golden Age!

Wrestling soon began to reach it's peak all around the world. Then, in my opinion, began the beginning of the end for WCW. It was Starrcade 97. The Main Event was Sting VS Hogan! A year in the making. Everyone was hyped, everyone awaited this match. And what did they get? A overbooked crappy match! From Bret Hart screwing Hogan to Hogan actually winning the match cleanly, this match was a crapfest. From there, WCW lost their advantage. WWF then had an awesome Wrestlemania that saw Stone Cold defeat Shawn Michaels to become the WWF champ. With Mike Tyson present, Wrestlemania was a hit success and soon many wonder how WCW would respond. WCW got worst as Sting dropped the WCW belt to Randy Savage, then lost to Hogan the next night. Eventually Goldberg won the title and although it got great ratings, many feel WCW missed out on a huge PPV buyrate if it was on PPV. The ratings battle was neck and neck until the fall of 98. WWF took control of the ratings war as WCW continued to struggle. So at Starrcade 98, Goldberg squared off against Kevin Nash. Surprising, Nash ended Goldberg's streak as well as become WCW champion thanks to Scott Hall. WWF continued their hot streak and they could do no wrong.

But WCW could and it did. In January, to many, this was the turning point of the Monday Night Wars. Kevin Nash was supposed to defend his newly won gold against Goldberg, but after an incident with Miss Elizabeth, Goldberg was banned from the arena. Enter Hulk Hogan. Hogan and Nash were one on one...for maybe like a minute. Hogan poked Nash in the eye and pinned him! Hogan won the belt again, thus gainning bad heat and really began the downfall of WCW. The year of 99 went the same way. Great midcard talents like Raven, Chris Jericho all quit WCW due to being unused. Talents like Ultimo Dragon, Psychosis and other greats cruiserweights left. The painful thing was that Jericho defected to the WWF and became an instant fan favorite although being a heel.

WCW failed yet again. For multiple midcarders leaving or quitting, to bad storylines, to not pushing midcarders or even keeping the Flair's and Sting's on top of the mountain. Sure, they got Jeff Jarrett from WWF, but at point, it didn't matter. Starrcade 99 was less than stellar and to make matters worse, the World champ Bret Hart suffered a career ending injury thanks to the hands of Goldberg. With the World Title vacant, many wonder how long will it be until WCW perishes forever. WWF is the top dog and WCW was just struggling to hold on and ECW was struggling on TV.

Enter me, Spencer Gary. I'm the new booker of WCW. Apparently, Bischoff recommended me for my indy bookings. Didn't really think my booking would land me a mainstream job, but I couldn't refuse it. I have some work to do as WCW has really screwed the last few years, plus with the polictical crap made me reconsider but, it's a challenge and I thrive on challenges. Can I lead WCW back to the promise land? Can we compete with WWF? I can't wait to find out. It's brave or grave for WCW! Time for a new breed!

Not much of a prologue, but their it is. Next, the rosters.

WCW Nitro from Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky January 3, 2000

Nitro starts with WCW President Eric Bischoff in the ring with the WCW World title in his hand. The fans jeer him before he speaks.

Bischoff:Thank you, thank you. Please, keep your applauses to a minimum.

He smirks as the fans shower him in jeers.

Bischoff:First I'm here to say happy new year to everyone. Mainly because this is a new year for WCW, a new millennium for WCW. I'm here to address a couple of things. See, at the end of last year, Bret Hart vacated this belt due to suffering a career injury. Now, this might upset all of you but Bret Hart will never appear on WCW TV again!

The fans jeer again.

Bischoff:But, since he did us a favor in vacating the belt, that means that we need a new champion! A champion who shows heroics, charisma and who deserves this belt. Someone who screams WCW Heavyweight champion with pride and respect. Someone who represents W.C.W!

He pauses.

Bischoff: With that being said, I'm here to announce that Goldberg will not receive a shot!

The fans boo Bischoff pretty loudly.

Bischoff:It might not be the popular choice by the fans, but he's the one who injured Bret Hart in the first place. Goldberg doesn't scream World champion. He doesn't show heroics or charisma. And most importantly, he doesn't show respect to ME! This is a new era in WCW and I will not tolerate people who don't respect me. So as of this moment, Goldberg is suspended indefinitely!

The uproar of the fans isn't too pleasant from the WCW faithful. A mixed of Bischoff sucks and Goldberg chants echo throughout the arena. Bischoff waits for the crowd to die down.

Bischoff: Now, back to business. This belt right here has been held by many legends. Ric Flair, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Lex Luger. All of them had to earn this belt. Which is what all the wrestlers in the back must do. See, it goes like this.

He pauses again as the fans await his voice.

Bischoff: Eight of the best wrestlers in WCW will compete in a tournament. A tournament I call Survival of the Fittest. Now, starting next week, eight wrestlers will enter the tournament. And they will go head to head. But there's a catch. Each night, neither eight men will know who they will be facing. But, all the names will be revealed tonight!

The fans are quiet.

Bischoff: The names I'll call out will be in the tourney. Rules goes as following. Eight men will battle in the tournament. It will be four matches containing these eight wrestlers. Then, once the eight men have fought, there will be four winners. However, one winner will receive the ultimate advantage. It's simple, the one winner who wins in the fewest time least, will receive a bye. Then, at Souled Out 2000, it will be a triple threat mach between the three winners and that winner will face the other winner with a bye and that winner will be the Survival of the Fittest and the NEW WCW World Heavyweight Champion!

The fans seemed impressed by Bischoff's tournament proceedings.

Bischoff: Right now, I'll reveal the first four competitors in the Survival of the Fittest tournament. Folks, look at the TurnerTron.

They do of course.

Bischoff:The first man in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament, a personal friend of mine, the United States Champion the Chosen One Jeff Jarrett!

Jarrett's name causes jeer. The Chosen One is indeed a hated man.

Bischoff: Next, Chris Benoit!

Benoit gets a good pop.

Bischoff: The third man entering will be Booker T!

The fans cheer in an uproar. Some Booker T chants are mixed in too.

Bischoff: And finally, "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner!

Some mixture of cheers and boos from the fans.

Bischoff: And remember folks, stay tuned cause later on tonight, the last four names will be revealed.

Bischoff leaves, smirking from ear to ear.

Mike Tenay:Well, what a way to kick off the new year. An eight man tournament to determine the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Tony Schivanie: Yeah indeed, but I think Bischoff's being bias and unfair concerning Goldberg.

Bobby Heenan:Unfair? I agree with the decision by Mr. Bischoff. Goldberg did indeed injury Bret Hart in the first place.

Schivanie:But to be suspended also? Do you think that's logic Bobby?

Heenan:Shut up Schivanie! Look, Mr. Bischoff made a fine choice. If you want to keep talking about it, you might finally get that pink slip.

Tenay:You're praying on that are you?

Rey Misterio Jr. Vs Perry Saturn

Pre Match: "Psyko" hits the PA system and the fans begin to cheer in an uproar for the Giant Killer Rey Misterio Jr. Misterio Jr walks over, slapping the fans hands and enter the ring, awaiting Perry Saturn. Perry Saturn then walks out to decent heel heat. Black bandanna and all, Saturn walks to the ring, not leaving his eyes off Misterio.

The Match: Saturn attacks Misterio at the beginning of the bell. Fierce knees strikes weaken Misterio Jr. as Saturn whips him hard into the corner. Saturn charges full speed ahead, but meets Misterio's boots in the process. Misterio hopes on the second. He soars in the air and connects on a Missile Dropkick;1..2.., Saturn rolls the shoulder. Misterio Jr. bounces off the ropes, attempting a Springboard Moonsault. Saturn gets on of harm's way, but Misterio stays on his feet. Saturn goes for a wild clothesline but misses badly. Misterio counterattacks. Dropkick by Misterio that sends Saturn to the outside. Misterio is preparing for a Plancha. Get ready! Rey Jr. bounces off the ropes in a flash and connects on a No Handed Somersault Plancha! Perry is down, but Misterio has control. Saturn is sent back in the ring;1..2.., Perry rolls the shoulders. Rey picks up his larger opponent and hammers away with forearm shots. Dazed, Saturn is stunned in the middle of the ring. Mysterio bounces off the ropes, aiming toward Saturn. Saturn suddenly snaps off a nice Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex. Saturn then goes to the apron, stalking Rey Jr. Mysterio slowly gets up and when he does, Saturn pounces. Springboard Dropkick;1..2.., Misterio rolls the shoulder. Perry hammers away at Misterio's temple before choking him out. Perry picks up Misterio Jr. and connects on an Exploder Suplex, following by a painful Senton;1..2.., Rey kicks out at two. Saturn grows frustrated and sends Misterio to the corner. Perry charges at him with full force. Big time Diving Knee by Saturn, followed by a Superkick. Saturn then hits a Saturnsault(Springboard Moonsault);1..2.., Misterio Jr. breaks up the count. Saturn tries his Rings of Saturn submission when Rey Jr. slims his way out. Misterio battles back with kicks to the hamstring. Saturn cuts off any chance of a comeback with a Backdrop Backbreaker, then a Swinging Reverse STO;1..2.., kickout. Saturn once again heads to the top turnbuckle. He has Misterio in his sights. He flies off, but his body only meets the mat. Misterio pulls himself up and lands a Split-legged Moonsault;1..2.., Saturn rolls the shoulder. Misterio lands a Headscissors Takedown, then a Leg-feed enzuigiri that stuns Saturn. Perry is stunned when Misterio hits a Springboard Senton;1..2.., Saturn rolls the shoulder. Saturn gains control back with a elbow strike to the side of the head. Now he goes for his Death Vally Driver. Misterio flips over and dropkicks Saturn to the corner. Perry is then lifted to the top turnbuckle. Misterio goes for his Hurricanrana. Epic fail as Misterio goes down as Saturn remains on the turnbuckle. Saturn then flies off and hits an Elbow Drop, then locks in the Rings of Saturn. Rey Jr. taps out! Saturn wins!

Winner:Perry Saturn

Eddy Guerrero Vs The Artist(formerly known as Prince Iaukea)

Pre Match:Artist is in the ring when Guerrero walks out to a good pop. Guerrero plays to the crowd as he enters the ring.

The Match:Artist and Guerrero tie up and it's the Artist who takes the first cheap shot with a thumb to the eyes. Artist begins to hammer away on the Latino warrior. Artist then hits a Dropkick;1..2.., Guerrero kicks out. Artist then stomps away at his opponent before heading up to the top turnbuckle. Now, he goes for a Diving Headbutt and misses. Guerrero reaches he feet and begins his offense. Clothesline by Guerrero, followed by a quick German Suplex;1..2.., Artist kicks out. Guerrero now whips his opponent to the corner. He charges at the Artist, but Artist puts the boots up. He goes onto the second rope and flies off. Dropkick by Eddy that meets Artist's face! Now, a groggy Artist is picked up. After two Vertical Suplexes, Artist gets dropped by a Brainbuster. Guerrero ascends to the top turnbuckle and hits the Frog Splash;1..2..3! Guerrero wins!

Winner:Eddy Guerrero

Guerrero plays to the crowd, celebrating a great win when the familiar Wolfpac them hits the PA system. The fans mostly boo even though they are cheers. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash strut down to the ramp with mics in their hand. Nash and Hall walk slowly down to the ring, playing with the crowd. Guerrero is still in the ring. The Outsiders enter the ring and wait for the crowd to die down.

Scott Hall: Hey yo!

A good pop for the infamous catchphrase.

Scott Hall: Once again, Scott Hall and Big Daddy Cool are in the house! And you see, almost four years ago, me and Big Kev made our impact. The revolution known as the nWo!

The fans still cheer, Guerrero looks confused.

Hall:We came in and took over everything. We were kings enforcing our will to make WCW ours. But you see, nowadays, it seems that me and Big Kev are forgotten.

The fans seemed confuse as Big Sexy begins to talk.

Nash:That's right. Four years ago, we were the big boys on the block. We were making large amounts of money, we was WCW. But like Scottie just said, now, we are seen as afterthoughts. We are being passed by. See, we are still the best thing going today and starting tonight, everyone will begin to remember. Starting tonight, the two of us will be feared. The two of us will begin to take over. Outsiders style.

Hall: For here on, me and Kev are taking over again. No nWo, no vandalizing, no public announcement. Just me and him, the Outsiders.

Nash: And we will not be forgotten, So everyone in WCW, look out, because the Outsiders is coming back! And we're going to lead by example.

Hall: And that example...starts now!

In a quick flash, Hall sucker punches Guerrero. Nash and Hall soon put the boots a fallen Guerrero, who tries to cover himself up. Hall raises Guerrero up as Nash gets away with cheap shots. Nash then raises Guerrero and Hall proceeds to do the same. Hall then motions something to Nash and it looks like he received the message. Hall picks up Eddy and puts him between the legs of Big Sexy. Nash raise on hand, signaling the Jackknife Powerbomb. He raise him up, then plays with the crowd. Then, the Jackknife is connected. Hall then clears Nash as he wants a piece. Hall picks up Guerrero and motions for the Outsider's Edge. He connects! The Outsiders seemed pleased as the fans boo them.

Hall: You see this WCW. This is what's going to happen to everyone around here until we get our respect back. Beware of the big bad wolves fellas. And if you got a problem, don't sing, just bring it!

Nash: And if you don't know, now you know!

The Wolfpack theme plays again as their Outsiders pose over a fallen Guerrero. The announcers hype this new resurrection of the Outsiders. WCW has been warned!

Gene Okerlund: I'm standing with the U.S champ Jeff Jarrett. Now Jeff, you have a title defense against one of the rising stars in WCW in Billy Kidman. Are you ready for this match and are you concerned more about your Survival of the Fittest match instead of this match?

Jarrett:Listen here you senile slapnuts. How dare you question the focus of the Chosen One. I go day in and day night defending this belt. And that's what I'm going to do tonight. You see Gene, Kidman might be a rising star and he might be a future World champion, but he's not Jeff Jarrett. He's not the Chosen One. And because of that, Kidman will be unsuccessful in claiming this gold that belongs around my waist. Not Kidman, not no one! And as far as next week goes, Chris Benoit, he will never ever become a World Heavyweight Champion. And he will never be as great as me. And after that, come Souled Out, I will become the next WCW World Heavyweight Champion and truly show everyone why I am the King of Wrestling!

WCW Tag Team Championship:David Flair & Crowbar Vs Vampiro and ?

Pre Match: Flair and Crowbar walk out first along with Daffney and receives reasonable heat from the fans. Flair and Crowbar are an unusually team, but they are the Tag champs, thus making them the best tag is WCW today. Then, the lights grow dim and red smoke covers the ramp. Vampiro slowly walks out and gets a good pop from the fans as well. The Dark Enigma walks to the ring, then stops. Does he have a partner? Suddenly, some music hits and the fans cheer as they know who it is. It's Terry Funk! Funk walks out with his trademark Funk t-shirt and it seems that him and Vampiro have reached an agreement here.

The Match: Funk starts off with Crowbar to begin the match. Funk and Crowbar begin brawling instead of usually technical wrestling. Funk wins the battle of blows and hammers Crowbar in the corner. A few stomps are added into the mix. Funk whips Crowbar to the ropes, comes back, a delivers a clothesline;1..2.., Crowbar rolls the shoulder. A quick tag to Vampiro and Vampiro begin to hammer Crowbar with a barrage of kick, ending off with a Spinning Roundhouse Kick to the temple;1..2.., kickout. The Enigma picks up Crowbar and plants him down with a Sidewalk Side, then a Springboard Revolving Legdrop;1..2.., Flair breaks up the count. Vampiro momentarily turns his attentions to Flair and knocks him off the apron. When he turns his attentions back to Crowbar, on half of the Tag champs him Vamp with an awesome Springboard Back Kick;1..2.., kickout at two. Crowbar put the boots to Vampiro, even biting him in the process. Crowbar would then connected on a well done Slingshot Somersault Leg Drop. Tag into David Flair. Flair stomps Vampiro in the mid-section before clubbing him with hard shots to the back. During this time, Daffney does her trademark scream. Flair picks up Vampiro and drops him down with a Vertical Suplex;1..2.., Vampiro rolls the shoulder. The son of the Nature Boy tags in Crowbar again. Crowbar goes to the top turnbuckle as Flair remains in the ring. Crowbar flies off and the duo connect on a Moonsault/Standing Leg Drop combination;1..2.., Vampiro rolls the shoulder again. Funk wants a tag, Vampiro needs to make a tag here. Wait, Vampiro fights back with hard Forehand chops. Crowbar cuts off his offense with a hard knee, then his Inverted DDT he called the Killswitch;1..2.., Vampiro kicks out of the Killswitch! The mentally insane Crowbar goes bireserk, threating the ref. As that happens, Vampiro tags in Funk! Funk clotheslines Crowbar, then lands a Running Elbow Shot. Flair runs into the ring and gets hit with Funk's Funker stunner that stuns Flair. Vampiro suddenly comes flying with a Springboard Spinning Wheel Kick that sends Flair to the outside. Funk. meanwhile, hits a Double Arm DDT;1..2.., Crowbar rolls the shoulder. Crowbar rakes the eyes of Funk, then goes for another Killswitch. Funk counters and now has Crowbar ready for the Texas Pildriver. Flair comes out of nowhere to clothesline Funk as Vampiro is down on the outside. They pick Funk up and they connect on a Double Spike Brainbuster!;1..2..3 just as Vampiro entered the ring!

Winners and stil WCW Tag Team Champions:David Flair & Crowbar

A remake of Perfect Strangers hits the PA system and the fans instantly know who it is and they boo. The Franchise walks out, sporting his new "Franchise" t-shirt and some casual pants. He walks slowly toward the ring, taunting the fans. As he enters the ring, the fans chant Franchise suck. He soon grabs a microphone. The fans still jeer him.

Douglas: All of you people need to shut up cause the Franchise has something to say!

More jeers for the Franchise.

Franchise: Now, I came out here to say a few things. First, as far as this "Survival of the Fittest" tournament, it's a watse of time. Everyone knoiws that the Franchise is the one who should be the WCW World Heavyweight champion. To think of the possibility of the Franchise not being in this tournament is just wrong. if WCW wants a tournament pitting the best of the best aganst each other, look no further than the Franchise! But you see, WCW has purposely held me back! But no worries, because I guartee that by the end of this year, the Franchise have captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Bank on it!

The fans boo again.

Douglas: See, I know that WCW won't put me in the tournament. So it's time to take matters into my own hands. The Franchise is going to challenege one of your beloved heroes. I man i despise from the first time I met him. That man, is Dallas...Diamond...Page!

The fans cheer when his name was mention, but this makes the Franchise sport a ****y grin.

Douglas: Cheer all you want, but the bottom line is that Diamond Dallas Page is no better than when he was a stinking manager. DDP is nothing more than hype. Hype along. Sure he won the WCW World Titlte, but he didn't even hold on to it for a month? And WCW calls him the People's Champion. Page, I see-

"Self High Five" interrupts Douglas' rant as the fans jump to their seats. DDP himself walks out in casual clothing, getting the biggest pop of the night. Page walks down into the ring and recieves a microphone. The fans chant DDP's name throughout the arena.

DDP: I came out here because it seems that someone his a big mouth. Franchise, you come out here night in and night, running your mouth and trying to make yourself seem tough. Shane, I've known you for a while now and all you have been is a talker. You try to make these people think that you're the greatest wrestler of all time. Well to answer your challenge Franchise, I accept!

Fans cheer.

Douglas: Think about what you just did DDP. What you did was guartee an ass kicking this week. Be prepared DDP cause once your staring at the lights, dazed and confused, you'll realize that a dynasty has passed you, courtesy of the Franchise.

DDP: Oh really. I'm looking forward to putting your money where your mouth is. But remember, come Thunder, it's showtime and when it's showtime, be preprared to feel the BANG!!!!

Both men proceed into having a staredown.

Schivanie: What a match it will be this Thrusday, Shane Douglas Vs DDP.

Heenan: I'm liking Douglas' attitude. He knows that he must best the best in order to gain respect and that's what he's doing.

Tenay: We'll see if that comes back to bite him.

Schivanie: Still to come in the main event, Billy Kidman has the chance to become the WCW United States champion as he squares off with the Chosen One Jeff Jarrett! But before that, Eric Bischoff is going to annouce the final four men in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament.

Eric Bischoff then walks back out in the ring, receiving good heel heat. However, he's with Vince Russo this time.

Bischoff: It seems that the good ol' people here in Louisville can't get enough of me!

Jeers to be expected.

Bischoff: Alright back to buiness, as promised, the final four names in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament. Folks, the TurnerTron!

Russo: First, Dean Malenko!

Decent heel heat there

Russo: Next up, Billy Kidman!

Huge Kidman chants going off right now.

Russo: The third man in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament, "The Nature Boy Ric Flair!

The crowd pops huge for Flair's entry!

Russo: And finally, Diamond Dallas Page!

Huge DDP chants erupt the building.

Bischoff: And that concludes all members in the Survival of the Fittest matches. Good luck and may the best man represent WCW!

WCW U.S Championship Match: Jeff Jarrett© Vs Billy Kidman

Pre Match: Kidman's music hits as Billy Kidman walks out to a good pop from the fans. Kidman is looking to capture the United States Championship along with looking strong now that he's in the SoF Tournament. Jeff Jarrett then struts out with the gold around his waist, getting the best heel heat of the night. Who will become the United States Champion? Nitro takes a break.

The Match: After commerical, Kidman and Jarrett tie up. Jarrett easily takes down Kidman and then slaps him in the back of the head! Jeff taunts the youngster. Kidman suddenly unloads serval rights and lefts, thus forcing the ref to break the hold. Jarrett rolls to the outside, thinking and master minding. However, Kidman stops this masterminding and lands on him with a Suicide Dive! Kidman slowly grabs the head of Double J and slams into hard into a steel step. He rolls Jarrett back in the ring. Billy jumps up on the apron and ascends the top turnbuckle. As Jarrett reaches a vertical base, Kidman flies and connects on a Flying Hurricanrana;1..2.., Double J kicks out. Kidman grabs the head of Jarrett and goes for a suplex attempt. The United States champ rakes the eyes of Kidman, then prepares for a Piledriver or a Powerbomb attempt. He goes for a Powerbomb, but Billy counters into a Sitout Facebuster;1..2.., kickout at two. The youngster from Allentown feels the crowd's enegry. The problem with that is that he's in the ring with a crafty vetran in Jarrett. Meaning that Jarrett rams Kidman into the steel post right sholder first. With Kidman hurt, WCW Nitro takes its final break.

After the break, Jarrett stomps on the injured right shoulder of Kidman. During the break, a replay shows Jarrett whipping Kidman right shoulder first into the steel steps. Back to the action, Jarrett connects on a Running DDT, one of his old moves;1..2.., Kidman rolls the shoulder. Jarrett continues the onsluaght until he signals the Stroke. He prepares for the Stroke, but Kidman counters with a dropkick. It seems that Billy is in fact a one armed man. Kidman fights himself to reach a vertical base, so does Jarrett. Jarrett swings first and connects, but Kidman gets the second swing that rocks Double J. Kidman clothesline Jarrett using the left shoulder. He lands a stomp to the mid-section and runs to the ropes. He comes back and connects on a Running Legdrop on a kneel Jarrett;1..2.., kickout! Kidman seems to be confused on the count, but quickly snaps out of that state. As Jarrett attempts to kick him in the mid-section, Kidman grabs the foot. However, the crafty Jarrett lands a Enzugiri; then a Double Knee Backbreaker;1..2.., Kidmand kicks out. Jarrett quickly goes for the Figure Four, but that's turned into a cradle by Kidman;1..2.., Jarrett flips over;1..2.., Kidman flips over;1..2..., Jarrett kicks out at the last second! Both men are in disbelief and attempt dropkicks at the same time. Both men's boots meet and neither man wins. Kidman tries a clothesline, but Jarrett ducks. Jarrett tries the same thing, but Kidman ducks. This sequence occurs three more times until Kidman breaks it with a sweet Twisting kick to the back on Jarrett's head. Kidman places Jarrett on the turnbuckle. Kidman climbs up and hits a Frankensteiner;1..2.., Jarrett rolls and finds himself in perfect positiin to apply the Figue Four Leglock! Kidman counters barely. Jarrett tries the Stroke, but Kidman fights off. Kidman tries a BK Bomb spinebuster, but Jarrett dropkick the left knne, then connects on the Stroke;1.2...., Kidman reaches the ropes! What! Jarrett is pissed. Kidman battles on though. Kidman fights back, Jarrett does too. Kidman hits the Kid Krusher Jumping inverted double underhook facebuster! Kidman slowly ascends the top rope. The fans are on their feet. The crowd is electric. However, Jarrett shoves the ref into the ropes. Kidman lands in a spot where he shouldn't land and falls down. Jarrett puts Kidman on the second rope and he climbs up there too. Oh my god! Stroke fromt he second rope;1..2...3! Jarrett retains!

Winner and still WCW United States Champion: Jeff Jarrett

After the match, Jarrett has a microphone.

Jarrett: See, like I said, I will never lose the United States Championship. And once again, I prove my greatness. I proved that no one, no one can beat the J E Double F J-A-Double R-Double T! And once I will the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, I will prove why I'm the King of Wrestling. So choke on that, slapnuts!

Jarrett holds his title high as WCW fades to black.

Kinda short for my first show, but I hope it was worth it. Enjoy. Comment, positive or negative, is welcome.

WCW Thunder from the First Union Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania January 6, 2000

Tonight on Thunder, we have a six man tag match featuring six of the eight men in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament. Booker T tags up with Chris Benoit and Billy Kidman square off against "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner, Dean Malenko and the Chosen One Jeff Jarrett. All six are looking to go in the tournament strong. Which team will win? Can these teams co-exist?

Speaking of SoF Tourney, DDP will go one on one will the ****y Shane Douglas. Douglas called DDP out on the past Nitro and DDP accepted this challenge. DDP should be cautionus as he doesn't want to get banged up before the big tournament. Meanwhile, "The Franchise" is looking to make a name for himself and a win over the People's Champ will certainly do so.

Also, Konan will be in action. The Cruiserweight Championship will be on the line and the Outsiders, Ric Flair and others will be in the house. So don't miss an all new episode of Thunder!

Confirmed Matches

Billy Kidman/Chris Benoit/Booker T Vs Jeff Jarrett/Scott Steiner/Dean Malenko

DDP Vs "The Franchise" Shane Douglas

WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Juventud Guerrera Vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Konan Vs Fit Finley
