slack
I knew he introduced Steve Austin to the WWE, I didn't think about him intoducing The Undertaker! Of course, both guys have gone through some gimmick changes since their debut, but it seems like the Million Dollar Man knows how to pick 'em! Tyler Gadzinski
First, Austin was in ECW then WCW before he went into WWF(at the time), Second, Taker debuted on Survivor Series(I Believe) on DiBiase's team. He was using the Deadman Gimmick when he debuted.. and he's still using it.. sure he's had some twists and turns on it but most people that debuted over 15 years ago don't still have there original gimmick. Self
In kayfabe terms, yes, Ted Dibiase totally knows how to pick 'em... but then he also brought in Wrestling Superstar Virgil. Can't win them all I guess.
Tyler Gadzinski
True.. Virgil was horrible.. better than David Arquette for sure.. better than anyone else.. probably not.
thatoneguy
Austin was in WCW before ECW. Almost his entire run in ECW was based around bashing WCW...so yeah.
BHK1978
Undertaker wrestled in a lot of places before coming to the WWF as well. In fact he used to be apart of The Skyscrapers in the NWA/WCW right before he became the Undertaker.
masterded
What is the point of pointing out they didn't start in the WWE? He said introduced to the WWE not to the wrestling world.

Because this is the internet? I used to protest myself, but now I just die a little inside.
cappyboy
True.. Virgil was horrible.. better than David Arquette for sure.. better than anyone else.. probably not. I think "horrible" is rather a strong word with Virgil. Can you make a good case he rose above his skill level? Absolutely. Had he stayed at the AWA/ECW level, he might very well be thought better of. He did some pretty good work in the indies. Especially under the name Soul Train Jones. He's just one of those guys who caught the right eyeballs at the right time. Which is why I think people like to dump on him now. He got the break so many other people's favorites didn't even though they were just as good or arguably better.
slack
I am well aware that those two started in other places. In fact I belive "Mean" Mark fought Steve back in the late 80's. I was just stating, as far as WWE debuts go, Ted debuts a Brown Mullet Deadman with Brother Love and The Ringmaster. That first Ringmaster promo is good. I love the part where he sticks his hand out towards the screen and asks the people at home to touch him. Total play off televanligists that would have people pray to their TV and "touch" them. Good stuff all around.

And let's not forget how serviceable he was in his bodyguard role for YEARS before moving on to legit matches in the WWF. And even some of those bouts were entertaining. I really think it had more to do with his character and charisma than talent.
slack
On a side note, I watched John Cena's debut match against Kurt Angle. I thinks thats one of John's most entertaining matches every. It's weird not hearing people in the crowd boo Cena. Other than his lame-ass haircut.
Tyler Gadzinski
The "Prototype" John Cena.. I honestly believe Kurt was the best wrestler around in his WWE stint.. prior to the ECW brand. His stuff with Lesnar was brilliant. Also, him, Taker, Austin were all great. His segments of him and Austin with Vince were hilarious. Kurt was great on the mic and was great in the ring. Also, just throwing it out there that Kurt is a better rapper than Cena. Youtube it.

Stennick
Its a shame that Kurt doesn't do any comedy at all anymore because thats really what he was great at on the mic. His obnoxious, self righteous, oblivious character was so much fun.
BurningHamster
I think "horrible" is rather a strong word with Virgil. I agree, I mean Virgil was never going to be a world-beater but then he was never pushed as such. I thought his run in WCW as Vincent was pretty entertaining. When he was the nWo's lackey who kept messing things up, Stevie Ray would always refer to him as a sad sack and he kind of always seemed like that guy who just doesn't have what it takes but is trying to hang with the cool kids anyway. Then he would try to pass off his nWo dirty work onto Disco Inferno who was seemingly the only person in the world lower on the ladder than him. It was a magical time.
