Dana White Announces Big Change for TUF Finale

The crew in the UFC house last night was shocked, as Dana White announced that the semi-finals and final of the tournament will take place live on Spike TV's Ultimate Fight Night: TUF Finale in early January!

"The one-night tournament has a very prominent place in UFC history," White told this season's hopefuls. "The true ultimate fighter can go the distance in every sense of the word; he can take his career to the top, and he can go through two men in one night to claim his prize."

At this point, Roy Nelson, Kimbo Slice, Justin Wren, Marcus Jones, Brendan Schaub, James McSweeney, Darrill Schoonover, and Jon Madsen remain hopeful contenders to advance to the finale. Tune in this week as Brendan Schaub takes on Jon Madsen to find out the first semi-finalist!

Without seeing a first show I can't really comment on quality, but a few things strike me as odd.

- UFC 105 was on free TV, not PPV. You could have got round this by cancelling the event then renaming a TV show.

- Penn vs. Sanchez was at UFC 107, not 106.

- One night tournaments can't be held in American MMA anymore. And didn't Kimbo go out of TUF 10 well before the semi's?

- Okay, so UFC 105 is on PPV, but remember, this is a UK card, Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin wouldn't headline it in a million years. That should be 106 while BJ Penn is on 107.

- Plus, Michael Bisping has at least two losses, Evans and Henderson.

- Koscheck vs. Johnson? Although they fought soon after, this seems to have been thrown on there rather than thought through. It could easily co-main a card. On this it's the opening fight.

- Again, it's a UFC UK card but only James Wilks makes the prelims? That preliminary card should be full of Brits or at least Europeans. Wilks just won TUF 9, he should be on the main card too with Ross Pearson. Good to see the Gustafsson vs. Hamann fight on there though.

- Duffee vs. Struve is potentially a big fight in the future. It wouldn't be wasted on the prelims of a UK card.

So yeah, maybe you're just not following convention for whatever reason, but it'd have been better if you'd said at the start. It just becomes a bit hard to read when things in the implied backstory that would have been confirmed for months are changed with no mention. This might have been a game you've been playing for a while, but I don't think so, given the records of the fighters. The booking is sketchy too, no Brits in England and Johnson vs. Kos thrown out there being examples. I'll try and check in on the show though which could be good, and you'll hopefully let us know whether or not you changed the fights just as an alternate reality or not.

Brock Lesnar © (4-1, 3-1 UFC) vs. Shane Carwin (11-0, 3-0 UFC)

Presuming you're using TOS, then I'll say Lesnar. He's better than Carwin at everything he does, although his submission defence is zilch.

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION

'Quick' Mike Swick (13-2, 8-1 UFC) vs. Dan 'The Outlaw' Hardy (21-6, 2-0 UFC)

I'd love to say Hardy, he's a great fighter. But the TOS data for the time probably rates Swick higher and on paper Quick should pull it off.

Michael Bisping (17-1, 7-1 UFC) vs. Denis Kang (32-11-1, 1-1 UFC)

Probably go as in real life. Kang can hang with Bisping for one round, but the Widnes local is too strong for two rounds.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueria (15-3, 0-0 UFC) vs. 'Banha' Luiz Cane (9-1, 2-1 UFC)

Better all-round fighter + more experience = Big win for Lil' Nog.

Josh Koshcheck (13-4, 11-4 UFC) vs. Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson (8-2, 5-2 UFC)

Kos will almost certainly win this, but I like to make an upset pick and mine is the heavy hands of Rumble.

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION

Matt Brown (9-7, 3-1 UFC) vs James Wilks (6-2, 1-0 UFC)

I'm just gonna say that this diary is awesome... and for most of the things you had stated above, this is a diary.. it can be as fictitious as he wants it to be.. and I'm pretty sure the mod was released before the Hendo vs. Bisping fight.. and if it was released after that fight then it was already in production.

Why say someones diary is odd because they don't follow facts? The point of doing a diary is for fun and do what you'd like to see.

Anyway...

MAIN EVENT

UFC WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Brock Lesnar © (4-1, 3-1 UFC) vs. Shane Carwin (11-0, 3-0 UFC)

Lesnar is a Beast.. I think he'll take it just like he will in real life.

MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION

Michael Bisping (17-1, 7-1 UFC) vs. Denis Kang (32-11-1, 1-1 UFC)

Bisping.. not many people like him since all of his shenanigans and just plain out disrespectful attitude.. but just like Tito.. I like him.

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION

'Quick' Mike Swick (13-2, 8-1 UFC) vs. Dan 'The Outlaw' Hardy (21-6, 2-0 UFC)

Dan Hardy.. not much to say.. I played my own UFC game in WMMA2 and Hardy was nearly unstoppable.. I recall the only loss he had in my game was against GSP.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION

Antonio Rogerio Nogueria (15-3, 0-0 UFC) vs. 'Banha' Luiz Cane (9-1, 2-1 UFC)

Just picked.. not a big fan of the Nogueria's.. kind of boring.

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION

Josh Koshcheck (13-4, 11-4 UFC) vs. Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson (8-2, 5-2 UFC)

Koscheck.. Johnson is very good and this could've Semi-Mained or Mained a small show.. but it should be a great opener for the show.

I'm guessing we've gotta suspend immagination here as running one-night tournaments is one of the only real ways to simulate the Ultimate Fighter type shows.

With this dynasty, straight from the starting point, I'm just doing things how I want to do them. The first few cards in this dynasty are an alagamut of UFC 105, 106, 107, and The Ultimate Fighter Finale. Wilks vs Brown was on the main card of UFC 105 in reality, but I moved it to the prelims in favor of Kos vs Rumble because the data didn't think they would be as good a co-main event @ 106 as I wanted. Wilks, as TUF9 winner, being moved to the preliminaries was purely an oversight on my part.

UFC 105, in this dynasty, is neither on free TV nor is it in the UK; in one of the few tests I ran before getting started on the dynasty, I renamed a Fight Night card to UFC 105 and overall wasn't happy with how it turned out; the 1 per month limit on TV, combined with not being able to run my first card until 2 weeks into the game (almost 3 because it needed to be at the end of the week), screwed up my booking layout way too much.

I always expect, when altering recent history for dynasties, there to be a little funny taste in readers' mouths at first. I don't like writing about big, industry-changing events as a springboard for dynasties personally; I've tried it myself with little success (just not good at writing it, I do enjoy reading them). The UFC is what it should be, so I mostly just wanted to jump in and run it in a fairly conventional way so everyone could enjoy the read.

There will be 'rumours' that float around before official cards are announced, so there is definitely room for fan reaction and fantasy bookings that could become 'reality' along the way in this dynasty. The UFC has a very vocal fanbase, and I encourage the same for the readers of this dynasty; let the UFC know what you want to see, and watch to see if it unfolds!

Hope everyone enjoys the ride!

I'm guessing we've gotta suspend immagination here as running one-night tournaments is one of the only real ways to simulate the Ultimate Fighter type shows.

Exactly. I didn't just want to randomly choose a new Ultimate Fighter every so often, so I decided to go with the tournament on Ultimate Fight Night. Obviously, I changed the season around so the finalists are a little different (personal preference; I rooted for Schaub and Jones the whole season, and even if he loses all the time Kimbo is a big draw at this point).

UFC NEWSWIRE

Shuffling between UFC and WEC rosters rumoured

A source inside ZUFFA has reported that the company is in the process of drawing up paperwork that will transfer the contracts of several WEC and UFC fighters. While no names have been confirmed, word is floating around that
Kurt Pellegrino
,
Shane Nelson
, and
Thiago Tavares
could all be heading to WEC. On the other side of the deal, it looks as if
"The California Kid" Urijah Faber
may be moving up to lightweight for a run in the UFC.
Raphael Assuncao
and
Wagnney Fabiano
may be doing the same. It looks as if the idea is to bring in more potential opponents for lightweight and welterweight champions
BJ Penn
and
Georges St. Pierre
, respectively.

UFC looks to give Heavyweight division shot in the arm

Fans have been complaining about a lack of depth in the heavyweight division recently, and with
Randy Couture
's possibly permanent move to light heavyweight (pending a win in that huge co-main event at UFC 106) it looks like things need to get better fast. This season of
The Ultimate Fighter
focused on heavyweights and the company will look to add several cast members in the near future.
Kimbo Slice
is rumoured to have a fight on the finale whether or not he is in the semi-finals, and there have been talks of a small bidding war between UFC and Strikeforce for
Bobby Lashley
. Not just looking to add newcomers, though, Dana White recently commented that the company is close to bringing in former heavyweight superstar
Andrei Arlovski
, possibly as soon as UFC 107.

HUGE NEWS OUT OF MEMPHIS PRESS CONFERENCE

UFC 108 MAIN EVENT CONFIRMED; A FORMER STAR RETURNS; TWO LEGENDS ANNOUNCE RETIREMENT

In a press conference held this morning to officially announce that UFC 108 will take place in Memphis, which will be headlined by a clash between the coaches of the current season of
The Ultimate Fighter
Rashad Evans
and Tennessee-local
Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson
, another announcement shocked the crowd; two long-time veterans of the Octagon announced plans to step into the cage one last time.

"I thought, if I was going to do this one last time," said an almost hesitant
Chuck Liddell
to the buzzing media, "then I was going to do it simply out of love for the sport. No title shots at stake, no historic rivalry to settle, and no loud-mouth punks to shut up."

UFC President Dana White was informed around the same time that another legend would be leaving the company, and despite no original intentions for a final match, the showdown with Liddell was too good to turn down.

"When Dana told me it'd be one last fight, just for love of MMA, I was in," explained
Mark 'The Hammer' Coleman
. "My intention was to retire with nothing left to accomplish at this stage in the game. This fight isn't an accomplishment; its the last ride of two old fight dogs who don't know anything else."

No other bouts were made official, although
Andrei Arlovski
was also on hand to announce that he would be making his return to the Octagon at UFC 108 as well. Other rumoured bouts include welterweight
Carlos Condit
getting a possible title shot opportunity against
Matt Hughes
, which White refused to comment on when asked, and middleweight
Yushin Okami
fighting
CB Dolloway
. The Okami/Dolloway match-up begin a topic for speculation when Dolloway announced via Twitter that he was working on a fight for UFC 108 the same day Okami's management team announced he would be making his PPV return on the same card.

UFC 108 (unofficial card)

Rashad Evans vs Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson

'The Iceman' Chuck Liddell vs Mark 'The Hammer' Coleman

Matt Huges vs Carlos Condit*

Andrei Arlovski vs TBA

Yushin Okami vs CB Dolloway*

* = not officially announced

((OOC: CARDS ARE NOT OFFICIAL UNTIL THE CARD PREVIEW, LIKE THE ONE FOR UFC 105, IS POSTED. . . I LIKE TO KEEP THE RUMOUR MILLS MOVING IN MY DYNASTIES))

UFC 105

LIVE ON PPV FROM THE MANDLAY BAY IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA!

As always, Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan welcome us to the show and run down the card for tonight's event. Rogan also promises to show what he undoubtedly thinks will be UFC 105's Submission of the Night from tonight's preliminary match-ups.

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISON

JOSH KOSHCHECK

-VS-

ANTHONY 'RUMBLE' JOHNSON

ROUND 1

Koshcheck comes out of his corner looking to bring the fight, but Johnson avoids his fists well. Johnson looks to give himself some room by backing up, but Koshcheck just keeps coming. . . Johnson throws a body kick but Kos grabs hold and takes him to the mat! Johnson quickly into guard, but Kos is relentless in his pace as he starts trying to pass. Johnson is blocking well, even trying to smother Kos as he works but neither man's technique is having much effect. The ground grappling seems to be at a stalemate as we reach the halfway point, but Johnson gets a butterfly guard a manages to push Kos back just as the ref was about to stand them up. Johnson scrambles but ultimately ends up in a worse position as Kos pulls him into side control. Sensing an end to the round, Kos starts firing off punches from side control but Johnson blocks them with the gloves. Johnson pulls away to try and transition, but the round comes to an end with him still defensive on the mat.

ROUND 2

Koscheck comes out of the corner with some head movement this time, perhaps looking for a slower pace than last round. Kos throws a couple of jabs, then shoots in for a takedown faster than a lightning strike! It looks ugly for Johnson on the way down but he manages to pull guard as they hit the mat. Kos looks to pass guard but Johnson uses his legs to push Koshcheck back and, just like last round, Kos grabs side control. Johnson is looking frustrated at his inability to match Kos' pace while defending the attempt to pass into mount. Johnson can't hold out long, however, and Koshcheck gets the mount as we reach the halfway point of this round. Kos begins to unload with bombs and Johnson is struggling to cope! Johnson turns to cover up, but gives up his back in the process! Kos cements his position before starting to fire away again but Johnson is better prepared to defend himself this time; he tries to roll Kos off his back, but Kos blocks it and transitions into a rear naked choke! Kos had it locked in so fast that Johnson tapped before Goldberg & Rogan even knew he had it!

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: JOSH KOSHCHECK

(REAR NAKED CHOKE, 4:04 OF ROUND 2)

RATING: DECENT

====================================================

POST-FIGHT INTERVIEW
Joe Rogan asks Koshcheck about the quick pace he set in this fight; Koshcheck said that from here on out, he was going to be relentless in fighting his way towards welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre!

====================================================

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION

ANTONIO ROGERIO NOGUEIRA

-VS-

LUIZ CANE

ROUND 1

Nogueira and Cane circle, Nogueira throwing a failed straight right. Cane's slow defense allows Nogueira to shoot in for a takedown and quickly pass into side control. Nogueira looks for an armbar, and gets it! Cane taps!

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: ANTONIO ROGERIO NOGUEIRA

(ARMBAR, 1:49 OF ROUND 1)

RATING: GREAT

====================================================

POST-FIGHT INTERVIEW
Through an interpreter, Nogueira said he was honored to be in the UFC and looked to fight anyone who would present him with a challenge.

====================================================

After two quick fights that ended by submission, Joe Rogan says his pick for Submission of the Night remains unchanged and reminds us the clip is still coming up later in the show. Mike Goldberg interjects that another fight on the preliminary show ended in submission, and sends us off to a highlight.

(PRELIMINARY FIGHT, FILMED EARLER)

LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION

DENNIS SIVER -VS- ROLI DELGADO

ROUND 3, JOINED IN PROGRESS

There's the bell and round number three begins! Delgado throws a right to Siver's ribs but there was no power behind it; thinking he has an opening, Siver throws a high kick but Delgado saw it coming! He shoots in for the takedown and Siver hits the mat, quickly pulling guard. Mike Goldberg points out how evenly matched this fight has been, Siver winning the first round and Delgado the second, while Delgado punches down at Siver from guard. Siver reaches up for a guillotine, but Delgado pulls free and throws a big punch that rocks Siver! Delgado is breathing hard, but he can sense the end of the fight and starts reigning down bombs; they all bounce off Siver's gloves as he tries to pull Delgado into a guillotine for the bottom of the guard. He has it! Delgado gets caught mid-hammerfist and has no choice but to tap!

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: DENNIS SIVER

(GUILLOTINE, 2:46 OF ROUND 3)

RATING: GREAT

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION

'THE OUTLAW' DAN HARDY

-VS-

'QUICK' MIKE SWICK

ROUND 1

Swick looks like he came to wrestle, but Hardy won't let him get in close. Swick's unrelenting attempts to close the distance allows Hardy to nail him with a crisp jab, but Swick shakes it off and keeps moving forward. Hardy lands another counter punch, connecting just above Swick's eye. Swick looking to throw punches now, too, as they trade blows but no real damage is done. Hardy fires off a quick combo that connects, making Swick back off and quickly rethink his approach. He decides to move back to wrestling, coming in close but again Hardy fends him off with strikes. Hardy fires off a hook that causes Swick to stumble backwards, leaving him unable to defend Hardy's kick to the ribs! We come to the final minute of the round now, Swick still trying to grapple with Hardy but easily being fended off. Hardy lands another hard kick to the ribs as we end the round.

ROUND 2

Swick comes out looking much more prepared this time, grabbing the upperhand early and forcing Hardy up against the cage. Swick spends over a minute of the round smothering Hardy and trying to work him over but Hardy is defending really well. Swick goes to the dirty boxing to try and land some blows, but Hardy reverses the position and Swick finds himself against the cage! Hardy firing off shots now but Swick seems to be defending himself. Hardy takes a short step back to give himself some room and fires away on Swick with another series of strikes. Swick recovers, though Hardy is clearly in control, firing off jabs and watching for his opening. Swick is covering up well, hoping to make it out of the round. Hardy fakes a lunge that looks to go somewhere, but the round ends just after he makes contact.

ROUND 3

Hardy and Swick meet in the center, and Hardy answers Swick's grappling attempts by getting him into a controlled clinch. Hardy spends most of the round making Swick look like a fool with dirty boxing, barely unable to find that one punch that will drop his opponent. Swick is holding out well, but obviously losing the round, and fight, at this point. Hardy doesn't seem to have an answer on how to end the fight, and he is looking tired. Frustrated with the lack of progress now, the ref seperates them and restarts the action. Hardy changes stances and throws a few punches, but, unsatisfied, transitions back to his previous stance. Swick looks to have more gas in the tank than Hardy, and knows he has to end the fight to win it. Swick throws a few jabs to setup a takedown, and gets the leg! Hardy won't go down, though, and the two crash into the cage with Swick gaining control. He presses Hardy against the cage as the round comes to a close.

JUDGES SCORES: 29-28 HARDY - 29-28 HARDY - 29-28 HARDY

WINNER BY UNANIMOUS DECISION: 'THE OUTLAW' DAN HARDY

RATING: GOOD

====================================================

POST-FIGHT INTERVIEW
Joe Rogan asks Dan Hardy how it feels to have just earned himself a welterweight title shot. Hardy says that in a crowded division like the UFC welterweights, you have to approach every fight like a title fight. Whether his next fight against GSP, or anyone else, you can be sure that he'll bring his best.

MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION

MICHAEL BISPING

-VS-

DENIS KANG

ROUND 1

Bisping comes out of the corner bobbing and weaving, but Kang looks to keep close. Kang throws a few set-up jabs, then shoots in for a succesful takedown. Bisping pulls guard, and despite firing off a few shots, Kang can't land anything. Bisping tries to get in with double underhooks, but Kang easily controls him and looks to pass guard again. This time he is able to pass and get effective side control with relative ease. Not letting up for a second once he has side control, Kang begins working towards mount and gets it! Kang begins pounding on Bisping with elbow strikes as we reach the halfway point, landing several good shots in the process. Kang gets more vicious, hitting elbows with more force and he opens up a nasty cut above Bisping's eye! Blood trickles down from the cut along the side of Bisping's face, and by the look in his eyes, he is in trouble! Kang grabs hold of an arm, and easily locks in an armbar that brings a quick tapout from Bisping.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: DENIS KANG

(ARMBAR, 3:27 OF ROUND 1)

RATING: GREAT

====================================================

POST-FIGHT INTERVIEW
Denis Kang says he knows a lot of people don't like Bisping, and asked him to hurt him in this fight. Kang says he didn't hurt Bisping for them, but he hopes it made them happy. He warns everyone in the middleweight division that, given the chance, he'll glady do that same to any on of them.

UFC President Dana White steps into the Octagon with Joe Rogan, and the two put over how great the show has been thus far and the main event is only moments away! Joe Rogan mentions the utilization of submissions tonight, reminding us that before the main event we'll see the fight that has had everyone talking all night. Dana White even says that, unless Lesnar and Carwin shows them up, he is certain that the Jared Hamman and Alexander Gustafson fight that Rogan has been hyping all night will win Fight of the Night and Submission of the Night!

Having already witnessed the fight, the crowd cheers in approval. Dana announces that in a few weeks UFC 106 will be presented on pay-per-view live from California. He confirms the entire main card as the one that has been floating around, with BJ Penn defending his lightweight title against Diego Sanchez, and Randy Couture making his return to light heavyweight to take on 'The Huntington Beach Bad Boy' Tito Ortiz as the co-main event.

(PRELIMINARY FIGHT, FILMED EARLER)

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION

ALEXANDER GUSTAFSON -VS- JARED HAMMAN

ROUND 1

Gustafson gets in close, and pulls Hamman in to grapple with him. Gustafson lands some short strikes to the head while grappling, rocking Hamman enough to force his back against the cage. Hamman is stuck, taking a few shots to the head as Gustafson controls him. Gustafson tries to smother Hamman and force him more firmly against the cage, but Hamman has plenty of life in him. Hamman finds enoughroom in the grapple to apply a standing guillotine and pulls Gustafson to the ground to tighten it. After a slight readjustment, Hamman has it locked in and Gustafson has no choice but to tap out! What a comeback!

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: JARED HAMMAN

(GUILLOTINE, 2:14 OF ROUND 1)

UFC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD

CHAMPION BROCK LESNAR

VERSUS

SHANE CARWIN

ROUND 1

Lesnar starts off looking to grapple, pulling Carwin in and getting a couple of ineffective strikes in before losing control of the grapple. Carwin tries to take the off-balance Lesnar down, and gets him into side control on the mat. Carwin tries to transition to mount and after a moment of difficulty, Lesnar can't fend him off anymore and is mounted. Carwin begins throwing big elbow strikes, and Lesnar looks like he is in big trouble! After rocking him with the elbows, Carwin starts dropping bombs that rock Lesnar! Lesnar is defending himself, but taking lots of damage here, Mario Yamasaki could call it at any moment if Lesnar can't stop Carwin! Carwin switches his offense back to elbows when Lesnar looks to be defending too well, but Lesnar has recovered well and blocks the elbows as well! That fight was almost over there! Lesnar sees an opening to take Carwin's back from the mount, but Carwin defends himself well. Trying to make sure he doesn't lose control, Carwin tries to deliver a few hammerfists but Lesnar deals with them comfortably. Lesnar tries to roll over, but Carwin blocks him. No matter what he tries, Lesnar can't get out of the defensive position but, likewise, nothing Carwin tries will end the fight. A round easily controlled by Carwin comes to an end with him trying to tire Lesnar out from mount.

ROUND 2

Carwin effectively eludes Lesnar as the round begins, making sure he doesn't allow the gap between them to close until he has a feel for Lesnar's posture this round. As they close up, Lesnar grapples with Carwin and manages to push him back against the cage. Carwin is fighting it, though, and Lesnar falls off balance for the second time in this fight, allowing Carwin to reverse position so that Lesnar is pushed against the cage! With Lesnar pinned, Carwin begins to fight for a takedown, which he eventually manages to get. Carwin begins attempting to pass guard, and manages to squeeze in beautifully through a well-spotted hole in Lesnar's guard and transition to side control. Carwin goes for mount again, but Lesnar rolls out of it. . . but Carwin gets his back! Carwin pounds on Lesnar, landing several good shots but starting to look tired. Carwin continues to control Lesnar from the back, landing some good shots but its obvious his power isn't all there as we reach the closing seconds of the second round.

ROUND 3

Lesnar comes into the round thinking he has a stamina advantage, but his relaxed approach into the center of the Octagon allows Carwin to catch him by surprise and get a takedown into side control! Lesnar quickly manages to pull Carwin back into his guard, however and looks to pull Carwin into a guillotine from the bottom! Lesnar has his arm around Carwin's head, but Carwin manages to pull free. Carwin looks exhausted now, he is barely managing to keep Lesnar grounded. More fists from Carwin prove ineffective before Lesnar pulls him in tight to smother him from the bottom. We reach the halfway point in round 3 as Carwin pulls free, immediately going for more punches but they are too sloppy. Lesnar tries to sweep from guard, but Carwin blocks it and sneaks in a few punches to daze Lesnar. Over thirty seconds passes before Yamasaki finally stands them up for inactivety. As soon as the round restarts, Carwin comes in looking for a quick takedown, but Lesnar stuffs it and powers his way into a tackle-style takedown of his own! Lesnar postures up and starts to pound away, but Carwin gets saved by the bell before taking any real damage!

ROUND 4

We head into the championship rounds now, with the champion appearing to trail on the scorecards, though looking more effective every round. Carwin looks totally gassed now as Lesnar gets him in the clinch, then tries to shoot for a takedown. Carwin manages it well, and powers Lesnar to the mat! Both men are breathing heavy now, Lesnar pulling guard while Carwin struggles to find the energy to capitalize on his position. Carwin goes for a few elbows again as Lesnar looks for a guillotine while defending them. Lesnar gets an arm over, but can't lock the guillotine in. . . instead, he uses it to sweep into side control! Lesnar begins to pummel Carwin like a schoolyard bully, leaving the gassed contender helpless to defend himself! Mario Yamasaki jumps in. . .

. . . AND IT IS ALL OVER!!!

WINNER, AND STILL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: BROCK LESNAR!

(TKO, 2:03 OF ROUND 4)

RATING: GREAT

====================================================

POST-FIGHT INTERVIEW
Joe Rogan is with Brock Lesnar, but the champion doesn't let Rogan say much. Lesnar tells everyone to believe the hype, because he is unstoppable! No matter who the UFC puts in front of him, he will destroy them. Brock even calls out Frank Mir, "Frank, I hear your s--t talking, and your bitchin' about how I beat you. Then you want to tell people you want to break my arm? You picked the wrong man to play with, Frank. . . you got lucky once, but you can't beat me, and I proved it. You want to face me again? Prove that you deserve it, punk!"
