Question about Major/Minor Brands

Recommended Posts

So, in 2010, you can set brands to be major or minor, to sim RAW/Smackdown vs ECW better.

My question is, how exactly is this handled by the game? Before, if I had a "minor" brand, I'd just get them a TV show and set it as a 'B' Show, but I've been thinking, and while ECW is definitely not on the level of SmackDown or RAW in termes of importance, I definitely view it above what Heat and Velocity were back in the day.

So, if I have a minor brand of midcarders and below, would I still need to set their show as a 'B' Show, so the show doesn't affect my overall popularity negatively?

And how does it affect events, like PPVs? I remember ECW having their own PPV, even though people said it was terrible, I never saw it myself, but I will take their word for it.

I believe when ECW had its own PPV it wasnt seen as the other brand to RAW and SmackDown! they had Big Show and Lashley going for the belt who had been in WWE main events over the years and Lashley was even a major factor in a Wrestlemania angle involving McMahon/Trump/Austin/Umaga, and after Taker won the Royal Rumble the ECW Champion at the time (Lashley) appeared in the ring as a possible opponent for Taker to challange for the belt which has not happened since. I think it became a minor brand after the Lashley / Vince storyline ended.

I assume the difference between the two types is a reduction of workers and main eventers needed for minor brands. I don't believe it will have any impact on the shows they produce.
