Sigilistic
http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/127355 The Real Reason Bubba The Love Sponge Was Sent Home Posted by Larry Csonka on 01.19.2010 Awesome Kong beat him up… - AngryMarks.com has a report from today's Bubba The Love Sponge show. Hulk Hogan was a guest today, and they discussed the real reason Bubba was sent home, Awesome Kong apparently beat him up for the remarks he made in regards to Haiti. Here is what was said on the show… Bubba: She was wearing wrestling gear, and she came in on me and sucker punched me right on my left cheeck, and I was like, what's going on... then she came out me again, hit me again in the mouth, and she goes, "This if for Haiti! This is for Haiti!" and I'm lke "What is going on?" Finally I put my left hand out and push her away from me, and she comes at me again and I just cover up, because I cannot fight back on a woman. Not only will I be fired from TNA, which I probably am, but my radio career is gone if I take a woman out! Hulk Hogan: I tell you what, after what happened, if you had clocked her you'd have got away with it. What nobody knows, and this is the real truth, that there were certain people there... she should get off the property, she should be fired immediately, that's it. It was so violent. You could have actually lost an eye, you could have had your teeth knocked out. But, to give you your creedo, you are the one who said not to fire her. - Pwinsider.com reports that the story was in fact making the rounds at the TV taping yesterday, but their sources did not see the incident. Awesome Kong just became my new favoritest wrestler ever. For those who don't know, Bubba recently said "**** Haiti" and trashed the relief efforts going on over there. TNA and Kong herself have been active in trying raise funds for the victims of the earthquake.

SaySo
He said those comments and they allowed him to be on Impact. Then Hogan comes on his show ignoring what Bubba insensitive remarks about Haiti. I'm confused why Bubba is even getting wrestling attention when he shouldn't be there in the first place. Sigilistic
Just to clarify, Kong was NOT legally in the right here. I'm not justifying vigilante action. That said, Kong is clearly very emotionally invested in the country of Haiti and the awful tragedy it's suffered. And if SOMEBODY was going to kick Bubba's ass, I'm glad it was Kong. thatoneguy
While Kong will probably be reprimanded by TNA, and maybe even sued by Bubba, I can do nothing but fully support her. Apparently this is just one in a long list of things he's done to anger just about everyone in TNA, and this particular one is more than crossing the line. No pun intended. BurningHamster
I'm a little conflicted. On one hand physically assaulting someone for expressing an opinion no matter how insensitive which doesn't immediately impact upon someone (I am assuming Kong doesn't have friends or family who like ... died in Haiti or anything, if she did then fair enough, sock the fatso) is pretty lame. Also women hitting men is pretty lame, it's the new men hitting women due to the fact that a man defending himself would be crucified. On the other hand, I kind of advocate violence against radio personalities and think that in general everyone should be punched in the head occasionally just to keep them on their toes. Tha Black Phenom
I don't even have a problem with Bubba's sentiments, I've always expected some people to not care about the earthquake, he should just choose his words and know when to say such things. BurningHamster
I don't even have a problem with Bubba's sentiments. Well, I'm not a big fan of Haiti either ... due to my intense dislike for Voodoo. But I am keeping my opinion to myself for the time being since well ... they got enough problems without me dissing them right now.

PeterHilton
This is one of those threads where I wish Anubis was around and/or allowed to still post in here. How would he react? Would he attack Bubba's insensitivy? Would he go after the poster's who said a guy shouldn't hit a girl, because that's 'obviously demeaning to all women ..and GIRL POWER to your face' and whatnot? Would Anubis defend Bubba because it's his right to speak and also Haiti is clearly a REPUBLICAN and CHRISTIAN country where gays and transsexuals are mistreated? Or would he completely flip the f out and attack everyone, whilst complaining this kind of stuff doesn't happen in TEW and therefore the game is broken. The possibilities are endless. On topic: WOOOOOOOOORK!
Tha Black Phenom
Heh, I'm Haitian myself. Just that I've always expected people here and there to not care and I was even surprised to an extent so many people are willing to come together and actually look at the situation. Got me grateful to say the least. In some parts at this point, some medias try to make a quick buck by putting disheartening clips and photos on the front page, but either way that I guess that gets people helpin out. The simple thing is, if you're not gonna care, don't proclaim it at... this time. I thought that was common sense, and he should expect any beatdown to come his way lol. The problem about people who like to speak their mind is they don't put no consideration into the aftermath, what may come out of it and how people can react. There's even tact ways of saying you wouldn't wanna help the country. I've read such through other forums and I've come to acceptance. Voodoo? lol... Stennick
Doesn't this belong in the TNA thread? We've had two separate TNA threads pop up in the same day I thought thats why we had the general thread.
brashleyholland
My take on it: No matter what Bubba's views on Haiti, he could have expressed them in a more sensitive way.

We've had two separate TNA threads pop up in the same day I thought thats why we had the general thread. For that I apologize. I should've checked that thread first. If Adam or whoever wants to lock this thread or merge it or whatever, that's cool.
Stennick
Its cool man nobody else pays attention to it either Its just some guys are talking about it in that thread and others here, and thats I think why Adam made the thread so we wouldn't have the same discussion in three places but no harm no foul
ACCBiggz
Just now reading this, and for everyone getting upset over it and getting up in arms have apprently never listened to Bubba speak ever before. This is nothing new and he is a "shock jock" for a reason.
Tha Black Phenom
And he got his ass beat down for a reason too. All 'shock jocks' as you say get their due sooner or later, because they keep saying things, they see they can get away with it because that's "how they are" and eventually they're gonna push the line, and push push until something happens. That's why he should be responsible for what he says, being a 'shock jock' isn't an excuse. If anything... should be even more a reason to watch what he says. ACCBiggz
It's more laughing at people acting shocked that he would say such a thing. That's not saying he should have said it or is excused as you say... has nothing to do with that. But listening to everyone act like this is something shocking, it's not. That's not saying he should have said it or is excused as you say... has nothing to do with that. But listening to everyone act like this is something shocking, it's not. It's not shocking. At all. TNA should've known better for hiring him. And now that he's said it, Bubba shouldn't be shocked if his employer cuts him loose or gives him grief for it. Undertaker666
Bubba's learned that there isn't anything such as "Free Speech". You can say whatever you want, but there can be consequences... which negates the "free" aspect because there can be a price to pay.

Or his past where he has said things of equal nature and accured the largest FCC fine in history and continued on and used it as a promotion tool as per what all shock jocks do? My comment was more of a general statement based on recent events. If I wasn't a wrestling fan, i'd have never even heard of Bubba The Love Sponge. But from what you've said, that just reiterates my point.
