i effin rule
For those who may not know what this mod is, I will explain. It is essentially a blank database. It has promotions, networks, carriers, and things of that nature. However, it only has enough wrestlers for the game to be playable. The universe starts in 1920 and the purpose is to play a game from the beginning, with the game generating its own workers for the game. Every game is legitimately different and you can even sim decades ahead before you even start playing. As soon as the the trial downloaded I immediately began working on converting my Effganic data from 08. It shouldn't take a long period of time for me to release this, a few edits to promotions, carriers, networks and what not. I will likely be adding at least some new promotions too. I do plan on taking full advantage of the Eras though and any input you might have on how it should work out would be great. Effganic 2.0 Beta + Logos EffVerse And Updated Logos If you don't have the logos for the Effganic mod then download the Beta. The logos are not included with the official data release. This is because I am expecting to have an updated pic pack with new logos sometime in the future. So, again, if you want the logos and don't have them, you can find them in the beta download. Big thanks to Kamchatka for some of the logos. Also thanks to hak99 and mjdgoldeneye for some logos. i effin rule
For those of you that played the original, were there any issues that I should look into correcting? I know there is a lot of randomness, but I'm wondering if anyone encountered anything that seemed to happen more often than not.
i effin rule
Wow, seems things were pretty easy to do. This may be done sooner rather than later. From the looks of it, all I have left to do is add some more promotions. Everything else has been taken care of, including eras.
DaceSenoit
I loved your MOD...Only issue I had was that federations would go out of business and there would be years of unemployment for the top stars, so be sure to take advantage of the new Era and Narrative features. Judging by Adams claim that promotions are now smarter and more cunning, this shouldn't be an issue. In 08 promotion would only hire people to fill roster space or after a change in ownership, Adam said he made it so promotions will go after attractive talent even if they have a full roster. Narratives are hard to pull off because there is no way to guarantee that a promotion will still be around. Have definitely utilized Eras though. I'm adding more promotions to try and help ensure that there are always a good number running. The problem is that I can't set any to random because we could see more modern promotions opening in the 30's or the other way around. The best thing to do would probably be for the user to manually add new promotions to their current game if things start stalling.

Jennie Bomb
Narratives are hard to pull off because there is no way to guarantee that a promotion will still be around. Well, that wouldn't be a problem - if the promotion is out of business, then nothing will happen. They don't even need to be linked to promotions - you can use narratives to simulate economic booms and crashes, and the growth and waning of the wrestling industry. The one specific way in which this might help your mod remain more stable is if you begin a wrestling industry boom in countries that are just about to have their first promotion debut. It makes sense that there'd have to be a growth in the wrestling industry in an area around the debut of its first promotion, and it'd give them a bit of a wave to ride in the beginning. Narratives are going to be great for trying to maintain a healthy gameworld.

BigM
I loved effganic. My only problem was promotions that opened, didn't get an owner, and then sat there until I made them go bankrupt.
i effin rule
I've added several Narratives now. I used the suggestion above to help the "first" promotions out some. I also added some random incidents too, ranging from Women's right to vote, the Depression, and the Wrestling/Steroids scandal of the early 90's. Thanks a lot for updating it to TEW 2010 i effin rule. I really enjoyed playing with it in TEW08 and I can't wait to play a game with it. It'll probably be the database that I'll use to try to beat the "50 years in a single game" achievement.
MainOffender
I dabbled with this in 2008 but never made it very far. Planning to make this my first play on 2010 and I want to take it as far into the future as I can, but I do have a question. With all these randomly generated wrestlers, do we ever get any 2nd generation stars? I'm not sure the AI is sophisticated enough for that. Planning to use the editor to create some if needed, but I was curious. Also - what do people use for worker pics? I was planning to repurpose the Cornellverse. Any other ideas? Jennie Bomb
I tend to play without worker pics. The lack of pictures doesn't bother me at all.
RayW
I tend to play without worker pics. The lack of pictures doesn't bother me at all. Same. I usually make a generic no worker image that fits with that skin, that has 'Total Extreme Wrestling' written on it, as if it was part of the in-game website. Rayelek
I'll probably use C-Verse pictures next time I play it as well, as well as maybe some renders from the communityverse. Mix and match a little.

You don't get 2nd Gen guys, but occasionally you may notice there are some people floating around in a particular area with the same last name. What I generally do is just match them as related. Or if someone pops up down the road with the same last name in the same area make them related somehow. I'll be releasing an EffVerse mod sometime in the future, you can use those pics if you want or C-Verse or Real World. That is really the beauty of this mod is that you can really do whatever you want. At any speed, I still need to add some new promotions. May need to look at the titles and such too. I have noticed that some of the logos for promotions, networks, and carriers are substandard. If anyone out there would like to give a crack at any of them (or have any they would like to see added) let me know.
edenborn
Happy to see this happening, i effin rule. The Effganic mod was one of my favorites for 2008, though I was frustrated by the lack of eras. Now that Adam's added those to the game, I'm looking forward to a long run with a Don Loomis Jr. user character. Thanks for all your work.

i effin rule
Looking for no more than 2 people who are getting the game on release who would be interested in beta testing. The purpose will be to look for any patterns or things that need adjusting before the official release. This is to eliminate promotions going out of business at the same time in every game. The testers will have to be willing to do a lot of simming.
magik
I'll run some sims with the mod when it'll be out and will probably get the game tomorrow (or tuesday if it comes out later that day). I would be willing to sim several games or a big one. I could send them back to you for you to analyze them and I could also do a basic analysis of special trends if needs be. I had a +30 years sim going on TEW08 that I liked looking at and I would be willing to run smaller ones or a long one depending on your specific need. I'll send you my email by PM.
