Warrior of Truth
I am running an ROF game where it says in the product analysis that the fans don't care about gimmicks or characters. However, the dirt sheet shows a - for people with low gimmick ratings. Is this - just really small and insignificant because the product analysis doesn't say some fans won't care but that fans in general won't care. I guess what I'm asking is do I really need to bother changing gimmicks?
Sudo_Nym
I think that's it. Wrestling is about the popularity of your characters, no matter your product, but in some cases it matters more. So ROF might not care very much about the gimmicks, but they still care enough to swing things a little bit either way.
ampulator
Actually, basically having no gimmick IS a gimmick of sorts. Basically, a worker is judged on how well he does without a gimmick. For example, you set a worker's gimmick to "None" in a promotion that dislikes gimmicks. After debuting with his new gimmick, he will get an initial rating, Let's say, B-. It affects his matches only marginally, as far as I can tell. However, a counter-example, in a Mainstream or a Lucha Libre promotion, a worker can get a good boost in match ratings for a good gimmick. The B- becomes the B. The B becomes a B+. D16NJD16
is there any middle ground with gimmicks? seems I either get a note about fans not wanting any, or expecting everyone to have one
