forlan
Hi there, i started a 1993 scenario on the last game and never finished it, slowly working on bits here and there. Thinking ahead to TEW10 im wanting to get it released as the bulk of the work is done so a beta is possible. Just a couple little things i need some info on for that era American Media Corporation Umbrellas Eras looking towards the future and appropriate settings for those eras (i have an idea but would like other opinions) Possible Narratives Thanks John
shamelessposer
American Media Corporation Umbrellas I'll be sticking to the American properties owned by these companies. Understand that this was very, very hard to put together, and judgment calls had to be made. Some networks are left out because of how unlikely it is they would air wrestling programming, such as movie channels or otherwise niche channels. This is... a good chunk of it. I'm mentally exhausted and despairing at the number of media outlets owned by Viacom alone at the moment, but I'll pop in later to edit this post to include Newscorp and Time-Warner. ABC (In 1996, ABC was bought by The Walt Disney Company) ABC (launched April 1948) ESPN (launched September 1979, acquired by ABC in 1984) ESPN2 (launched October 1993) CBS/VIACOM (Viacom is essentially an umbrella within an umbrella, combined here for the sake of realism and sanity) Black Entertainment Television (abbreviated BET) (launched January 25, 1980) CBS (launched July 1941) Comedy Central (launched April 1, 1991) Country Music Television (commonly abbreviated CMT) (launched March 1983, sold to Gaylord in 1991, sold back to CBS sometime in 1997) Ha! (launched April 1, 1990, merged with The Comedy Channel to form CTV [which would soon change its name to Comedy Central] April 1, 1991) Logo (launched June 2005) MTV (launched August 1981) MTV2 (launched August 1996) Nickelodeon (launched December 1977 as Pinwheel, renamed Nickelodeon in April 1981) Nickelodeon Games And Sports For Kids (commonly abbreviated Nickelodeon GAS or Nick Gas) (launched March 1999, replaced by The N on December 31, 2007) Spike (launched August 2003) The Nashville Network (launched March 1983, acquired by CBS sometime in 1995, dissolved in September 2001 to make way for The National Network) The National Network (launched September 2001, dissolved August 2003 to make way for Spike) The N (replaced Nickelodeon GAS on December 31, 2007, renamed TeenNick September 28, 2009) TV Land (launched April 1996) UPN (launched January 1995, dissolved September 2006) VH1 (launched January 1985) VH1 Classic (launched May 2000) Comcast Comcast Network (launched 1996) Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (launched 1999) G4 (launched April 24, 2002, acquired November 2006) Versus (rebranded from Outdoor Life Network on September 25, 2006) NBC Universal Bravo (launched December 1980) NBC (launched July 1941) Oxygen (launched February 2000, acquired by NBC in November 2007) Sci Fi Channel (launched September 24 1992, renamed Syfy July 2009) Telemundo (acquired by NBC in 2002, but launched much earlier) USA (launched September 1977) News Corporation FOX (launched October 1986) Fox Family Channel (formerly The Family Channel, but acquired by News Corp in July 1997 and relaunched as Fox Family Channel on August 15, 1998. Fox Family Channel was then sold to Disney on October 24, 2001, when it became ABC Family.) Fox Sports Net (look this thing up on Wikipedia, because it's a mess) FX (launched June 1994, but I'd hold off on an in-game launch until early 1997, when the network began accepting original programming) MyNetworkTV (launched September 2006) The Walt Disney Company (bought ABC in 1996, at which point their assets merged) ABC Family (launched November 2001 out of Fox Family) Disney Channel (launched April 1983) Disney XD (launched February 2009 out of Toon Disney) Turner Broadcasting System (merged with Time-Warner in October 1996) Cartoon Network (launched October 1992, began airing live action programming in June 2009. The network's late night Adult Swim block began airing live action programming in 2007.) TBS (launched December 1976) The WB (launched January 1995, closed September 2006) TNT (launched October 1988) Problematic Networks Lifetime (co-owned by Viacom, ABC/Disney, and Hearst until August 2009, when it was bought by A&E network, which in turn is co-owned by ABC/Disney, Hearst, and NBC Universal) A&E Television Networks, for reasons already explained The whole Comcast SportsNet umbrella is confusing. You'd think that it would just be owned by ComCast, but each regional network has its own peculiar ownership issues. I'm not sure if it's worth untangling anyway, as it seems doubtful even one of these networks would favor pro wrestling. The CW (co-owned by Time-Warner and CBS)

Genadi
Poser that's awesome work from all mod makers thank you! I was wondering, how do PPV Carriers work out in the scheme of things?
shamelessposer
Poser that's awesome work from all mod makers thank you! I figured someone should do the work. I had at one point considered doing a huge TV networks and umbrella file, but I'm not a hundred percent sure if it would be easy to just drop into a mod. I was wondering, how do PPV Carriers work out in the scheme of things? I have no idea.
