Mr.Macho
So for all real world mods out there, What title belts do you think can go under no promotion so you could use the investment feature to buy them?
Tweek It
If somebody wanted to run a storyline feud with former XPW champions than XPW titles would be a good one to have. The history of women's wrestling lie in GLOW and WOW. Not really needed for either one of them, but they are there. USWA and SMW are two that would be good for a southern promotion since you have alot of old school guys that held them. Those are the few off top of my head. oleolekid
the real AWA Titles, the NWA United States, TV, & US Tag champions, XPW belts, FTW Title, unless your going to assign em to a fed then the NWA World & Tag Titles also, i'd say any title not owned by the WWE that is reitred so the ROH Pure Title, CZW Ironman Title, TNA's Super X Cup, Old school titles like the UWF Title, WCCW Titles, and just indy belts like NWA Wildside Titles, MLW Title, World-1 Title's. Thats all I can think of at the moment but theres easily about 30 titles in those alone so .

The only titles that would be available for purchase are those of defunct promotions whose assets were not sold to another company (so no WCW or WCCW or ECW titles would qualify). No existing company would sell its inactive titles because most of the prestige behind a title is the promotion's name itself, which is trademarked. So just go through the defunct promotions and cherrypick the titles. FMW is one I can think of offhand. They've had a ton of titles.
oleolekid
I thought WWE only own the WCCW Library not the rights to all the assets. All the real ECW Belts WWE owns but the FTW Title has been defended by Chris Chetti in the past so I figure that can work. As for the other companies im sure most indies would sell the rights to inactive titles if other feds would be interested, i could see if CZW ever used Nigel McGuiness and asked that ROH would have allowed Nigel to take the ROH Pure Title to CZW for the right price, but thats just me. shadyrocky
WWE dropped alot of the WCW and ECW belts, so most of them are retired. The only WWE belts Ican actually think are retired are if the had six-man tag belts, the WWE European, WWE Hardcore, and WWE Cruiserweight titles. Any promotion that was or is successful is copywrited. Even after they go out of business someone retains or someone else buys the copywrite. WWE owning tape libraries they also own the copywrites on the promotion name & titles (hence why you dont just see incarnation after incarnation of promotion). So WWE owns a lot of titles technically. Even smaller indy promotions, the WMF titles for example are still "owned" in fact, WMF is attempting a comeback again. MLW's titles are owned by some company in Japan. If you do a little searching you'd see pretty much all titles that mean anything are already owned by somebody else. Nah, when WCW was first bought out the WWF made their WCW Titles active in the Invasion storyline.

oleolekid
I heard they just brought the rights to the video library, same as with the Florida library. I mean WWE owns alot of the NWA Library but they dont own the NWA or the belts. Also WWE only owns the video rights till 1988 as apparantly IWCCW owns all post 1988 footage, and id imagine thats also includes the trademark's and such. the only one i think outside ECW & WCW WWE owns more in depth copyrights of is AWA as I think WWE owns the copyright for American Wrestling Association which is what Ganger was running under. It's strange as WWE owns the rights to 98-08 of OVW but they do not own the copyright of OVW itself, they own the Stampede Wrestling library but not the copyrights as Stampede Wrestling still runs I think. I'd simply say except from the WCW & ECW Titles all other belts can be retired and purchased as WWE has never recognised them on TV and such. Tempest Kane
Amused at this thread. Most of the titles people talk about the WWE own's the rights to anyway. Yes... even the AWA titles, Yes... even USWA and World Class, yep Vinnie Mac owns the whole deck pretty. HOWEVER... Anyone with 75k can buy the orignal NWA World Heavyweight title from Highspots .... wooooooooooooooooooooooo!
oleolekid
wait didnt Lawler sell the USWA trademark to someelse like in 97/98? Anyway I give up trying to figure out what WWE does and does not own as it's all to complicated, WWE owns the rights to near enough everything for/from some point but doesn't own others, it's typical wrestling no sense makes sense lol.
