BYU 14
I have scarcely even glazed over the C-verse in previous versions of the game and always play RL mods, but tooling around with the demo that is changing. I started a NYCW game and I am now really eager to see if I can get The Stompers pride and joy a little more modern and bring on some new blood. I love the old school Characters like Black Hat and Flash, but signed a couple of younger guys right before the demo ran out and now can't wait to try and integrate them and grow the promotion outside of the Tri-State area. The problem before is I never really thoroughly read through the Bios and histories and I have to admit, after doing that I am getting sucked in. praguepride
A tip that helped me out was just to search for all the A* people. See who the best of the best is, that kind of stuff.
Tempest Kane
Playing the historical mods will give you an all new love and respect for most the old timers in todays c-verse, upto and including most if not all of the promotion staff of todays c-verse back when they were themselfs wrestlers , this is a great way to get more into the core of the c-verse lore. I was the exact same way up until 2008, but I, like yourself, started fooling around and really got into it. Now 2010 is here I find myself writing a diary on it. Who knew? Warrior of Truth
This has inspired me to start reading more of the stuff about the C'verse. Up until now the only promotion I had done anything with is ROF.
Capelli King
C-verse i like allot more than the real mods, always spent more time on them
Rathen4
I can't play real world after C-Verse. You know why I was excited about the demo? Not the new game, not any of the new features or anything like that. I was most excited about how the C-Verse would look two years in the future. I don't get that type of excitement much any more. Same here. Some of the new features for 2010 had been very intrigued, but it was going through the C-verse that had me actually excited.
Gigas
I started wtih C-Verse so never got to enjoy real world mods. They were just too unbalanced and guys in WWE were way too popular. This was back in 2007, so the newer RW mods might be better but I love my CV.
RayW
The thing that, towards the end of 2009, got to me so much was that I couldn't find a mod where I agreed with most of it at least 90% of the time. Or bios were full of silly spelling mistakes, etc. I'm not saying that every mod is poorly made or what-not, just not to my high expectations. With the demo for 2010 I've gone through the C-Verse, and I'm enjoying it. There's nothing to disagree with, since it's a fictional dataset, and I love everything - the renders, logos, title belts! Amazing!

I'd be happy if Adam just released a data update every year instead of new games

I am happy to play with all of this year's improvements, but the best thing for me is the updated CV and the new canvass for game ideas.

scorpion
And the best thing about the Cornellverse is that it has something for everyone. You can find bits and pieces of your favorite rl wrestlers in the c-verse. Often times I find workers that arent even the most talented, but I sign them anyway because i like the character. GruntMark
C-Verse is the most professional and best balanced data set. I think in some ways it reflects reality better than reality based data sets do. (As in, not everyone is A to A* in multiple skills because they wrestle in certain promotions.) Also the characters are frequently amazing, and are alot easier to use in new and creative ways, as the only preconceptions you could have about them are a couple paragraphs of background info or from reading someone else's diary. IT's the balance that really hooks me. I tried playing some RW mods and, as much as I admire the work that goes into making them, there would always be a host of stats I disagreed with. The only RW mod that tempts me is the excellent DOTT.
BYU 14
And the best thing about the Cornellverse is that it has something for everyone. You can find bits and pieces of your favorite rl wrestlers in the c-verse. Often times I find workers that arent even the most talented, but I sign them anyway because i like the character. That's what I am finding as I read through all the back stories. I go through how I would book different promotions in my mind and what I like about each one. Still, I keep getting inexplicitly drawn back to NYCW for some reason. The Stomper reminds me of what Verne Gagne might be like if he was still booking a promotion today and I love the old school 70's and 80's gimmicks. This will be the promotion I play, with the challenge being to find new talent that will fit in to that style before the current roster all retires. Also looking forward to the 75 Cverse mod so I can go back and follow some of these guys in the early days.
Horizon
For the first time ever, I'm gonna import Cornellverse workers and promotions into my real-world game. Not so many that it gets a bit silly, but maybe a couple hundred
MrCanada
I think the one thing that would really help me and others get into the cornelleverse is GDS-sanctioned roll backed mods. Based off the data of today, just set the date back and re-do contracts.
