Wrestling Century
Anybody else like The Office? I just tried it a few nights ago and I marked out. It was hilarious! Also, I'm talking about the US Version, since I've heard that there are different versions.

Also, I'm talking about the US Version, since I've heard that there are different versions. I hated it when it first started after watching the first episode. Then a couple years ago I think it was season 4 a friend of mine said the first episode sucked, but it got great after that and borrowed me seasons 1-3. I think I watched them all in about a week and I am now a huge fan with Stanley and Creed being my favorite characters.
Wade
Great show, Creed is an instant classic. If you like The Office, you should consider giving Parks and Recreation a chance. Similar format, very funny.
Nedew
Fun fact: The first episode of the American series is almost identical to the first of the original UK series. Interesting that you hated that but liked all the American-style ones I guess there really is that comedy barrier still, heh.

Similar format, very funny. Yeah. Though season 1 was a little flat season 2 has been great. Heck I love all 4 of NBC's Comedy programming on Thursday, it is like the only thing they got right. Though it would be even better If My Name is Earl replaced 30 Rock. I like 30 Rock and all, but the other three shows are funnier and My Name is Earl was just great TV. SuperOwens
Seen some of the US episodes, but without Gervais its just not the office for me. Absolutely love the original.

Though I do like The Mighty Boosh, Spaced, and Danger! 50,000 Volts! does that give me any UK TV comedy credit?
ACCBiggz
I've watched all 5 seasons over the course of 2 weeks, and am current through season 6. Season 1 is not as outraegous through the whole season, but still has a lot of humor in it. Since then it's picked up by being one of the best sitcoms on television. It has a lot of excellent smart comedy, slapstick (usually the pranks or Andy/Dwight/Michael), and so forth mixed in with really good real life stuff like the initial Jim/Pam relationship. Krasinski plays a perfect straight man which really brings the show to life, I think that's the real key to the shows success. I will say Season 6 has went down hill after the wedding episode, hopefully next week starts an upswing.
fatallylost
I dig the show. It does have hits and misses though, like everything else. Fun fact: The first episode of the American series is almost identical to the first of the original UK series. Interesting that you hated that but liked all the American-style ones I guess there really is that comedy barrier still, heh. I tried the UK one first, didn't like it much. But, gave it a second try after getting into the US version. But, I just can't stand it for some reason. Even though the story in episode 1 is the same basic thing, it just seems a ton funnier with the US cast.
Wade
There's a lot of other similarities throughout the existence of both versions, I saw a list of them somewhere. Can't remember them off the top of my head, however.
Sensai of Mattitude
I love it. Andy is probably my favourite character.
The Final Countdown
I love both versions of The Office. Though the U.S. version hasn't been quite as good the past couple of seasons. Still good, just not what it used to be.
Comradebot
I love both the American and British Offices. Ricky Gervais is a god, but then again... UK didn't have Andy. And Ed Helms is, hands down, one of the funniest men in the history of ever.
BHK1978
Well I shall be the first person to disagree, I just do not find this or the English version funny at all. I am a huge fan of Extras, now that was a great show! Great show, Creed is an instant classic. If you like The Office, you should consider giving Parks and Recreation a chance. Similar format, very funny. I despise Parks and Recreation, I only saw a few episodes last season and they were not funny at all. However, that is not the reason I despise the show. My reason is because NBC decided to keep that over My Name Is Earl. That still bothers me to this day! So I will stick with Fringe or Supernatural on Thursdays, instead of watching these bad shows. And remember these are just my opinions, I am not knocking anybody who like these NBC shows.
Jericho Rules
A friend of mine was convinced I'd like it, and she lent me the first 4 seasons. A week later I was completely caught up to where they were in season 5. So yeah, I love The Office. Definitely a hilarious show.

Genadi
Greatest show since Seinfeld imo and quickly surpassing it, the addition of Andy Bernard in the earlier seasons really pushed this show into legendary status.

HA! HA! HA! Very nice joke there. The Office, while extremely funny, is nowhere near Seinfeld at this point in time and shows no signs of reaching it. It's far too inconsistent to be considered. I'd probably struggle with putting it in an all-time top ten list. Sure, it's personal opinion, but at the same time you have to sit back and look at it objectively. No I don't really, I find it funnier at the moment and a few more good seasons I think for me it will be my fave all time show. Seinfeld went downhill fast when Larry David left and the later seasons were nowhere near the standard of The Office, especially the performances given. lazorbeak
Wow, people still like the Office? I thought that show was on its last legs considering the wedding episode and the fact that it's been pretty mediocre for about a season and a half. The Michael Scott character is just played out. The Community, on the other hand, looks to be a pretty solid show on the same night, and I recommend people to check it out. 30 Rock can be hit or miss lately, but at its best it's probably the best comedy on TV right now. Seinfeld went downhill fast when Larry David left and the later seasons were nowhere near the standard of The Office, especially the performances given. I have to disagree here and am backed up by the fact that a LOT of the iconic Seinfeld quotes, episodes, and images come from seasons 8 and 9. You can debate if they were better than previous or not depending on taste... but for consistency and standard of the Office they are head and shoulders proven above. Little Kicks, Chicken Roaster, Merv Griffin Show, Bizarro Jerry, Frogger, Little Jerry, Yada Yada Yada, and more were all done in 8 and 9. Those are not only extremely popular episodes but hold television history in them with iconic peices that are still discusses, repeated, performed today by people who are not even that big of Seinfeld fans. The Office - has none of this. There isn't anything that is "iconic" going on in the show that holds the same scope of what Seinfeld's 8 and 9th season did. I thought that show was on its last legs considering the wedding episode and the fact that it's been pretty mediocre for about a season and a half. I thought season 5 was very good, but so far Season 6 has fallen way off ever since the Wedding episode. However we are 13 episodes into a 25 episode season so we are only halfway there... Genadi
You're comparing two completely different shows and using "Iconic Quotes" as your back up to an opinion based topic? I'm not even gonna touch that..... "That's what she said"

Even at its best the Office was a fun little show, and even if one individual personally finds it funnier than Seinfeld, there's really no doubt that Seinfeld was an incredibly important, iconic show that influenced over a decade of TV to follow. The Office doesn't even really compare with that.
ACCBiggz
You're comparing two completely different shows and using "Iconic Quotes" as your back up to an opinion based topic? I'm not even gonna touch that..... "That's what she said" I'm using it to show it's reach and how memorable and great those episodes still were during the specific time period you said it faltered and went down - and yet many of the most memorable and funny events happened in that period. I figured you might use "That's what she said" but there is a HUGE difference... that's used over the course of the ENTIRE series whereas Seinfeld's are 99% just one episode and in some cases merely one scene. After talking to a friend, edit: And "That's What She Said" can't even be attributed to The Office. That comes from SNL and Wayne's World (which undoubtedly is where "Michael Scott" picked it up from). If anything you can only say that it led to its resurgence in recent years.
