gazwefc83
BETA Release thread - http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79962 please ignore some of the things you see relating to age and so on as i only have the demo at the moment. Iv updated my mod things like hair, masks, umbrellas and iv added agers, naratives, starting storylines, they are hogan vs zeus, rick martel vs tito santana, greg valentine vs ronnie garvin and Terry Funk vs Ric Flair. all starting storylines are unchained 2 give the player maximum freedom and be able to cancel them if they wish with no penalties, iv used the spreadsheet to fix alot of stats, added some chemistry (mostly for ceratin tag teams and commentating teams rather than guys against each other) All workers popularity/overness has been completey overhalled to better represent the 1989 timescale Im currently overhauling ever workers stats as this years help is very helpful The Hall of Immortals has been completey redone to feature everyworker that has had at least one of the points, nobody starts in the HOI as nobody had done enough to qualify A list of end of year awards has been done to go as far back as 1980 each year has been more of a convert and slighty updated but this year is a complete overhaul with lots of people testing the latest data any providing feedback any questions feel free to ask http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/2707/editor.jpg http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/4803/76105899.jpg http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/4927/flair.jpg http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1378/21397450.jpg http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/4426/dbs.jpg http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7924/bretq.jpg All Active Workers as of 03/02/10 Abdullah the Butcher Adrian Street Afa Aja Kong Akihiko Fukuda Akio Sato Akira Maeda Akira Nogami Akira Taue Al Perez Al Snow Alex Porteau Alfonso Morales Andre the Giant Angel Azteca Anthony Durante Antonio Inoki Antonio Pena Arn Anderson Arnold Skaaland Art Barr Atlantis Atsushi Onita Austin Idol Axl Rotten B. Genadi
Looks awesome dude, I usually prefer kyky cuts for old school mods but those look great. Title screen is nice to.
gazwefc83
thanks matey, i always used kyky myself but wanted something different for my mod and loved CWs bg as i created each wrestler and promotion i cut there pics (seemed less teedous than doing it all at the end). All workers, promotions, dojos, events etc all have the same bg to keep everything looking nice and tidy
Mr.Macho
Looks really good, i prefer CW cuts Tell me when this is ready and ill put it on my site.

Guest jayiscool99
if anybody knows of any storylines that were active in september '89 please let me know Roddy Piper - Rick Rude
RobTaylor
I'd like to test if possible... fueds of the time Hogan v DiBiase Piper v Rude (After Piper cost Rude the IC) Perfect v Snuka Ronnie Garvin v Greg Valentine (the famous Hartbreaker/Hammer Jammer feud) Dusty v Honky Tonk Man Warrior v Andre (Over the IC title) Savage v Duggan (Over King Title) Dino Bravo v Bret Hart (Brets aborted singles push/famous rib injury) Demolition v Powers of Pain (Demos face) Akeem v Beefcake Hercules v Earthquake Jake v Zeus Rougeaus v Bushwhackers Twin Towers v Rockers Other Important Matters Drug failiures for Tully Blanchard and I THINK Akeem led to firing and suspension respectively. This was the beginning of the end for Ventura, after WM he was gone...

justtxyank
At first I really hated your new skin, but the more I've looked at it the more I really like it. It's so clean and simple. I think I might use that primarily. I'm so torn on whether to use your pics or my new ones with your mod... Edit: Oh, and Hogan vs Zeus. Hard to believe the WWF was so popular with crap like that when Funk and Flair were tearing it up down south. King Chono
I noticed Misawa, Liger, and Kobashi were very high up on your "Power 100". If that 2009 thing is meant to be based on 1988, Kobashi would have been only wrestling a year, would not have gotten a single win yet, and wouldn't have had stats good enough to get him on the power 100. Same with Misawa still being Tiger Mask II, and Liger has only just started using that character.. Genichiro Tenryu and Jumbo Tsuruta would be the ones who should be high up on the Power 100, as Tenryu is just becoming the biggest name in all of Puro at this time. Even Mutoh is way too high up, even if this mod starts December 89, he's still only been in JCP for several months. Mutoh really didn't become the "****ing awesome amazing super duper amazing" wrestler he became until 1993-1994. In fact of the Three Musketeers, in 89 Chono would have the best stats. He came into his own a lot quicker than Hashimoto or Mutoh. Hashimoto would be the highest in status, due to his well faring in the IWGP Heavyweight title tournament. Stan Hansen isn't in the top 21, which leads me to believe one of two things.. 1. Everyone has ridiculous stats(High brawl, high technical, and high flying). or.. 2. You gave Stan Hansen, the only person in 1989 worthy of an A* in Brawl, a C+ or something around that range. These are just things I can tell from seeing the Power 100.. Anyhow I wouldn't mind testing if you need help with Japan, as that's the only area I am 100% positive I can make the right choices on.
RobTaylor
Was unsure, but might be a narrative worth putting in.. NWA Feuds Flair & Sting vs Funk & Muta - Flair attacked by Funk in May and returned iaround early sept...starting injury should be neck for Flair.. Flair won but attacked by Muta after the bell and Sting made the save and joined the new Horsemen in December Freebirds v Road Warriors Steiners v Sid & Spivey Luger v Pillman (US Title) Starrcade that year was the round robin tourneys, with Sting, Luger, Muta and Flair and Road Warriors, Doom, Steiners and The Wild Samoans. AWA Larry Zybysko was cahmp, think it was David Sammartino he feuded with around that time...
RobTaylor
USWA Main feud at the time was Lawler vs Soultaker (aka Papa Shango/Godfather), earlier that year it had been Master of Pain or Undertaker! New Japan's main feuds were Vader (champ) v Riki Choshu & Naoki Sano v Liger, All Japan was Jumbo Tsura v Tenyru for the triple crown. CWA in Germany was Vader as champ vs Otto Wanz... Please let this guy help you with Japan. He seems to be well studied in it and doesn't seem like the type to say "All Japanese workers should be As in everything!" 2. You gave Stan Hansen, the only person in 1989 worthy of an A* in Brawl, a C+ or something around that range. I separated this quote just so I could highlight the awesomeness that is Stan Hansen. Payne
Not to nitpick or anything, but I don't think Snuka was 64 in 1989
RobTaylor
I'm happy to work on narratives and stuff... Ones I'd include would be: Release of WWF Superstars Arcade Machine in 1989... could either have 8 mini ones for each person in the game to get a boost or just a prestige boost for the WWF. Sky TV in the UK starting to show WWF... This would be a UK wide popularity boost and would lead to the first UK rampage tour... Bret Hart getting a singles push - Big Morale Increase maybe a small skills boost. Neidhart getting a moral drop for his airline lawsuit. Bidding War for Muta and Hart - WWE tried to poach both Muta and Gary Hart who were not on written deals... but they were both making more money in the NWA. Morale Boost for Each... Wrestlers in Movies Nash in the Turtles movie in 1991 - Popularity boost. Terry Funk in Road House 1989 - Popularity Boost. Prof Toru Tanaka - 1989, Appeared in Black Rain Hogan - Gremlins 2 in June 1990. You could even add some VCR releases for No Holds Barred, They Live and Predator etc to boost guys like Piper and Ventura for popularity boosts. Starting Injuries Davey Boy Smith would be out due to the car crash he had...
justtxyank
Not to nitpick or anything, but I don't think Snuka was 64 in 1989 Did you read the opening post? He doesn't have the full version. The ages are all wrong.
Lucied
Not to nitpick or anything, but I don't think Snuka was 64 in 1989 If you'll notice, he's using the demo version. A few of the screens show January 2010. So the ages are adjusted to what they are currently.
gazwefc83
thanks for all your in put im just uploading the data now and then ill pm the guys i hope will test the mod for me
HugeRockStar760
If you'll notice, he's using the demo version. A few of the screens show January 2010. So the ages are adjusted to what they are currently. That's a cool feature. Was that in the previous installments? I know this mod is set in September but I wouldn't mind pushing the date when I play to late 88. Then it would adjust the ages appropriately. gazwefc83
it would just alter the age for you, but then you would have to alter contracts, overness, promotions, etc etc to what they were in 1988 otherwise you would just be playing 1989 with the guys 1 year younger
gazwefc83
Alittle update, ill be adding in a couple more promotions that were active in 1989 either tonight or tomorrow, should make the game world feel alittle bigger, they will be: FCW / PWF LPWA Yes i finally found the info i needed on PWF/FCW/PWF what ever you want to call it (Pain in the ass Promotion)

gazwefc83
you would still need to alter everything mentioned above to have a true to life 1989 Steamboat at NWA, Demolition as tag team champions, Savage as wwf champion, workers contract expiries etc etc
HugeRockStar760
I don't understand why the mod would start in late 1989? It was a great year, why not start it in January?
