Thoughts on my first PPV logos

Recommended Posts

Well I came up with a logo .. used a different fire background, different font and made the WSX logo a little opaque.. And I'm not the greatest at logos or image creation but I'm good at taking things and layering them and getting better at other things every day I play around on it.. also, what program do you use?

Here is the logo..

I use a free program called GIMP.. it's very good.. kind of strange to get used to at first.. I've never used Photoshop so I don't know how that operates. I also have over 7000 fonts and alot of different scripts to write things.

If you would like anymore help I would love to.. If you want shoot me some PM's if you want some opinions on things or just want help with something.

Fonts and backgrounds are huge when making something. The fire bg you used isn't really great, yeah its a picture of fire but it isn't artistic at all. I find trying to make fire background items the hardest. Also you really shouldnt use the same color font as in the bg (red on red) since it tends to blend together, if you look at Tyler's he used white. What probably would have worked better is to try to find a red background (google, deviant art) and use that since its implied its burning, for example this is one of my favorites

using wallpapers is great since they give you alot of space to work with and if you place it right you can get a cool smaller image. Then if you use a cool free font which are easy to dl and put about a 2 pixel stroke around it (i usually use white font with a black stroke or black font with a white stroke on most items but you can experiment) it will make it pop, i also usually add the bevel/contoure (sp?) put move the slider all the way down so u still get an effect but its not as heavy

I agree with Jester.. if you want to do pretty good with logos and pictures in general then google images, yahoo images, bing's image thing, deviant art, photobucket, etc. are going to be your best friends.. And also try to make the writing stray away or have more pop than the background color.. I used white as it's easier to see on a redish background but I am also not liking it looking at it again.. the Blaze part blends a little too much with the fire base.

Also, looking at your logo's again there pretty top heavy.. meaning everything seems scrunched at the top of it instead of it being dispersed all throughout the picture.
