Running Babes of Sin City - Help wanted

Recommended Posts

I am running Babes of Sin City as I am a fan of womens wrestling and like the idea of the Las Vegas Glitz style they are using, but I could use some help.

Currently I manage to run two 90 minute shows each month. I get D- ratings for them, which is quite okay, I think. I usually tend to have four matches on the show and the rest of the time is filled with angles. I got C or D ratings for the angles and with the current roster I can get like two D Matches each time. For that I am using Tamara McFly, Amber Allen, the Neptune Twins, building up Faith McGee and having a lingerie battle royal witch all the ****ty wrestlers to open each show. For some reason that usually is the best match, getting a D rating :D

I'd really like to do better, but I can not afford any better workers. I can only afford workers, earning around $ 150 to fill my shows. I could hire more expensive ones, but that would force me to cut the roster and the shows as I can only use 5 or 6 of them. So any suggestions? I got my popularity from F+ to E- within the first two months, but I am not sure where to go from here. It seems like I am stuck at this level. I do not expect to surpass SWF soon, but I'd like to become regional or cult someday, so I can get a TV show and become the number one womens promotion. Right now I only hold shows in the SW area, because it is the only region, where I can make money from the start.

So, what do you think? Should I only do one show instead of two each month and hire better workers? Won't it hurt my popularity, if I only do one show? Right now I spend $ 5.000 for each show, which means, I possibly could do one show with a budget of $ 10.000 instead.

I am working as personality, being the roadagent and joining Honey G. & Sara Silver as colour commentator.

Haven't run BSC this time around, but on the basis of a few games with them in 08 and what I've found running similar sized feds in 10...

1. Definitely cut to one show a month, I'm guessing sponsors are a main income source? Cutting to one show shouldn't harm that, so you'll end up making more money, even if you do grow slower.

2. It may be worth changing grades to numbers, in user preferences, so you can see whether you ARE stuck at a level - I'm guessing you may well be improving, just not enough for it to change your grade. In fact, if you're at E- and running D- shows, you sound like you're doing pretty damn well. :)

3. What sort of matches are you using? Common mistake in BSC is to book JUST Eye Candy based matches - you need some 'proper' wrestling as well, although I'd guess you're doing that if you're using the likes of McFly and Allen.

4. What storylines have you got going? Tamara and the Neptunes should be able to build up some of the others via storylines, I'd have guessed.

You're doing fine. In time, your popularity will go up, you'll get more money in and you'll be able to afford more expensive workers. I'm running BSC right now too, and I'm pretty much in the same place as you. Few months in. E- Popularity. Lots of cheap workers getting D- to D+ shows. Breaking even every month. Running weekly shows. That's good. That's progress. I reckon at this rate I'll hit Regional in 6-8 months. You probably will too. Have patience.

It's pretty much the only income. It's like $ 10.500 each month. The money coming in from merchandise pays the production costs, so the sponsorship money is used for hiring workers completely.

Well, that depends. When McFly is in the match I tend to make it a proper wrestling match. With Allen as opponent, it works out fine. Golden Delicious will be hired, so I can make new pairings. I think proper matches against both of the Neptune wins also tend to be D rated matches, but I have them wrestle in the tag scene, too and because of their low psychology they hardly get better that E+. I might have to think of something there. Those workers without proper skills are put in angles and eye candy based matches and like I said, the lingerie battle royal usually opens the show with a D rating.

4. What storylines have you got going? Tamara and the Neptunes should be able to build up some of the others via storylines, I'd have guessed.

Honestly? I only use the unchained storys, as this makes it easier to put a show on. I am having the Neptunes, and the other tag teams in one unchained story, the under carders in one and the upper carders in one unchained story.

Ah glad to hear that. So I assume, I didn't make any major mistakes.

Unchained is fine - I do the same thing - but as I mentioned before, I'd maybe consider putting one of your under-carders into a storyline with a few more over workers to see if that shoots them up. Stables might be a good idea, as well...

Oh the delicious irony. :p

Like Self said, you need to be patient. Your product ensures you're not going to be a shooting star promotion. This part here:

and become the number one womens promotion.

is not likely to happen quickly (if at all). 5 Star can lap you at will and crush you in show ratings. You need to take a long view. You have building blocks, you just need to put it all together. You're going to make slow, incremental progress and that's okay. In the sims I've run with BSC, they become red-hot....with Jen Neptune as booker (Marilyn sucks, look it up). So a human booker could replicate that success easily.

The battle royal thing is a good idea but I'd probably sign someone skilled (but not over) to anchor it. Might help the girls learn faster. Sister Beth Mercy, regardless of her spot on the card, is not in a position to be teaching anyone anything about wrestling. :p Don't be afraid to use your high dollar "stars" more than once per show. Put Tamara (and/or Amber) in the battle royal to open the show and have her close the show too. I don't really mind bringing in "expensive" people since those are the very people who tend to pull double (or triple) duty. I typically bring in Vixxen to pair with Tamara (in her Nightshade alter-ego) and run sort of a Sisters of Destruction type storyline. Vixxen has the in-ring skills to teach the entire roster so having her dominate the opening battle royal often gets me quite a few skill increases for participants. Then she beats an undercarder and appears in the main or semi main event later on. Sure she'll complain of fatigue but she's got 6 days to rest up til we do it again. :)

Beth actually auto-pushes to Opener now, so I doubt anyone will be tricked into thinking she's remotely useful. I canned her, Candy Floss and Miss American Pie from the get-go. Not good enough to justify their cost. Replaced with Amber Allen, Power Girl and my user character (who is about the same skill level as the aforementioned Sister Beth... only free). I have my eye on Jana Marie Bowen. Reasonably sexy. Great performance skills (by BSC standards) and not even slightly popular. Shame Honey doesn't want me hiring Cruiserweights.

Oh, and replacing Heather Halo as referee is a must in my opinion. I like Chad Brent. He's not a superstar, but he won't drag matches down like Heather.

For that very reason I saved the game at the very beginning and kept loding until Honeys goals would fit :D Now I must not sign any MMA worker... no such female worker in the game :D

See, that won't happen at my promotion. I like that girl and she will improve.

I spent the last hour hiring new people, so currently I employ like 54 wrestlers, managers and such. Got the Brendon sisters, Zoe Ammis and others. That should be fun :D Btw I like Sister Beth, so she will stay on the roster just like most of the girls, that have been there from the start.

I just have to calculate who I can bring in to the next show, so I won't go into the reds...

Besides, my character is the only man among 54 women... heaven or hell? :D
