gazwefc83
On page 26 it says they can only get a tv deal with that network, so why would they let me cancel my one and only show with them? Also if that channel only broadcast in the US would i not be able to sign a contract with a uk tv company? If that is the case there would be no point in running that promotion
Adam Ryland
why would they let me cancel my one and only show with them? You asked for it to be cancelled...it seems a little rich to then complain that they let you? You can still run non-televised shows. Also if that channel only broadcast in the US would i not be able to sign a contract with a uk tv company? If that is the case there would be no point in running that promotion That argument doesn't really make any sense; you are limited to the US so the promotion becomes pointless? It means you are limited to the US....it's a restriction, it hardly makes them a pointless endeavor. Most people who run smaller promotions never get to expand to a foreign market either, does that make their games pointless too?
gazwefc83
I asked for it to be canceled simply for test reasons being propety of a network should be a help not a hinderance, sure if your network only broadcast across america and you eventualy become big enough to get viewers outside of american the tv would allow this, take wcw for example on your other point the promotions you talk about are only on US tv because they arnt big enough, given the chance they would love to expand, take tna for example
Derek B
I asked for it to be canceled simply for test reasons being propety of a network should be a help not a hinderance, sure if your network only broadcast across america and you eventualy become big enough to get viewers outside of american the tv would allow this, take wcw for example on your other point the promotions you talk about are only on US tv because they arnt big enough, given the chance they would love to expand, take tna for example In order. 1. And it turns out you can cancel a show. Being owned by a network and being on air aren't the same thing. Most shows aren't on air all year round. 2. It's a HUGE help if you are small. You are more likely to get a TV show with the network you are owned by AND they are more patient with you too. For a small company, being owned by a network gives a huge chance to grow and make money. As a really large promotion, it obviously limits you to the network (or media group) you are associated with. 3. Growth isn't the only aim of the game, which you seem to think it is. The feature has plus and minus points, but if this is for that mod you are making then you should use a media group to help you out. You'll find it helps, a lot. gazwefc83
I agree with everything you have written, i didnt post this as a complaint, just as a question as iv updated my mod and was woundering wether or not to have wcw as property of ted turner tv network
jesterx7769
You are forgetting that it isn't one tv chanel that is owned by the media group, if you want to run it for real without testing just set up a media group that has tv networks in every country in the world, then as you grow you can expand globally. Since it seems you are doing it for WCW, TNT was part of Time Warner which is world wide media group, so I'm sure WCW was just broadcasted on their different tv networks in other countries (im american so idk what those channels were in other countries)
gazwefc83
Wcw was on tnt in the uk but they also had another show on terestrel tv on channel five and before that itv which had nothing to do with turners network
