Biggest Signings

What are your biggest signings in game ?

I've been playing as a Local to Global game (Will probably take a looooong time :p) as WCW in the C-Verse, and I've picked up.

Art Reed (Who is the World Champion)

John Maverick (Currently Number 1 Contender)

Kid Toma (The Outsider of the Promotion)

Jesse Christian (Currently working as The All-American American, United States Champion)

So what are yours ?

Your playing local to global and your already of a size where guys like Art Reed and John Maverick will sign for you? You'd have to be atleast cult to I would imagine even have these guys interested in you and two be able to afford them.

Thats some quick playing if you've gone from local to cult already I don't think I've heard of anyone shooting up that fast before share your secrets!

Am pretty new to the game, but enjoying it so far!

I'm playing MAW, it's 2011 January.

I signed Samoan Machine and American Elemental recently after losing Mean Jean and James Prudence to other companies.

They keep trying to grab CitizenX and Jay Chord, too. I don't really understand it! Samoan and Elemental I'm paying $500 and $800 respectively ... Why would anyone want CitizenX when Samoan Machine is unemployed? He was rusty, too.

depends where his fed is. In Japan he could pull it off assuming Maverick would want to go to Japan for money reasons.

edit: meh, with Jesse Christian it has to be USA. Art Reed is a C- and the most over guy, I could see him maybe signing at regional. The other guys definitely would.

Meh I don't care enough to test it I was just saying that Maverick being on a written in Canada I didn't know how he would go from being on a written in Canada to working with a regional in the USA. But none the less thats awesome you got a lineup most cult promotions would kill for at what I assume is a regional level kudos to you.

:p Lol, I'm actually only at Small. My user stats are really bumped up in Negotiating though, so I was able to sign Reed for little money, Maverick joined on several months later so I was able to pick some money up in order to sign him :)

I started a regional fed and hired Bryan Holmes after he was fired by PGHW within the first month of gameplay. Also got Jesse Christian, who returned just a couple of weeks before my first show. I'll make a run at Art Reed when his tour is done.

in my tna game , i altered my popularity levels so it wasnt a cult fed anymore( i know there are lots of discussions about that atm ) but left all the wrestlers overness as was so i was in abit of a dilemma. because a promotion of my size needed more star power so i picked up quiet a few handy acquisitions. the biggest being brock lesnar but he didnt come cheap. $75 , 000 , 20 % merchandise , 10-15 & ppv revenue and a main event title run( was planning on giving him the title after a succesful fued with angle) . it was alot more than i was willing to pay for a wrestler but his stats and overness levels do justify it. hogan wanted 85 ,000 to sign for a written deal. that was a no go

In my game with NOTBPW I am now in Week 2 of April and my biggest signings have been Bryan Holmes, Davis Wayne Newton (may not be that big in popularity but skill wise he is a definite future main eventer) and Bobby Thomas who I stole from from CGC.

You seem to be forgetting that 95% of the C-Verse contracts are 'Random' in length at game start and that NOTBPW isn't likely to be able to re-sign their people to writtens at game start. None of those people are the least bit surprising to me. Art Reed isn't over enough to turn down a Regional promotion (or Small with high Negotiation and/or momentum) and neither is anyone else listed. There are no secrets to be shared. It's point placement and luck of the draw with regard to contract lengths.

My biggest signing thus far, while testing my mod, has been odd. Was trying to ignite a bidding war for Cherry Bomb and apparently Sam Strong didn't think her worth the effort. He then went out and signed a randomly generated worker with ridiculous entertainment skills (70+ mic/charisma/acting) and decent camera skills (60s for looks & star quality) but AWFUL performance skills (Basics - 21, for example) to replace her.

I'm 6 months into a game where I started my own promotion in Canada. I started as a Regional promotion (sort of cheating I know, but this will be my first loooonnnggg game, and I didn't want to start at local) and have had a few good signings so far. Right off the bat, I grabbed Davis Wayne Newton, who I'm planning on building up as my new champ over the next six months. I grabbed Larry Wood for star power, Bryan Holmes when he got cut in Japan and, just after growing to Cult size, I was able to sign Art Reed and Champagne Lover (though I'm guessing he's going to take off on me sooner rather than later).

I was also smart and set up a working agreement with NOTBPW, who just went National and want 1/2 my roster, but at least now they won't be written.

I haven't managed any big signings yet as CGC, but I was lucky enough to keep Eddie Chandler when his contract came up...that's a victory in my book, NOTBPW is a strong enemy!

But for just good signings in general, Davis Wayne Newton is tops for me. His current program with Dan DaLay is gonna put him in the main event for the long term. Bryan Holmes has been a great addition as well, despite what you may expect for a popularity and entertainment based promotion.

In my SWF game I signed from TCW: Edd Stone, Eddie Peak, Rick Law and Troy Tornado (who has become a huge star). I also signed Bruce the Giant and Tyson Baine from USPW.

Wow!

I signed Jay Chord, Matthew Keith & Greg Gauge. They are now managed by Emma Chase and seem to be slowly doing well.

I'm desperate to get Troy Tornado to kick-start a Bruce vs Tornado feud. Think that has mountains of potential.... using the TCW history and how Troy never got out of Bruce's shadow.

I have also signed Swoop McCarthy and he is now in development.

I'm still waiting to sign a "Big" star although i have Tornado, Bach, Law, McFly & Bruce the Giant in my sights.
