Bruce Banner
If you were playing a WWE mod and you need to edit some of the roster to reflect the new ' mask ' settings , what setting in the mask settings should they be set to ? Rather than it just being a mask or no mask setting there are various options ( no mask , new , weak , medium , great and legendary ) so in the case of wrestlers like The Hurricane and Rey Mysterio , or a masked alter ego like Mankind etc , what is the advisable ' mask ' setting for such characters ? Thanks for any help
Craig Edwards
I would put the hurricane at the highest Medium as he isn't the most greatest or legendary mask wrestler of all time now Rey Msyterio is different story in mexico it would mostly be legendary but in the us i think it be no higher than great
Bruce Banner
Thanks for the advice . I have no real idea about mask ' status ' and stuff as I'm only into WWE and the like really rather than being a wrestling ' purist ' so all I can see is they either have a mask or they don't

PeterHilton
I would put the hurricane at the highest Medium as he isn't the most greatest or legendary mask wrestler of all time now Rey Msyterio is different story in mexico it would mostly be legendary but in the us i think it be no higher than great OK..now I'm not sure where to go because my own personal opinions don't jibe with the CVerse (Lobster Warrior's mask is legendary and I don't really know why actually) But Hurricane would be weak imo and Rey definitely wouldn't be 'legendary' because he lost his mask willingly with very little hype in WCW and then put it on a few years later. That would've damaged the credibility. In CVerse terms, it's similar to what happened with Mr Lucha III, and his mask is set to 'weak' Rey has been a big star since he came back to the WWE, so I'd up it to Medium. jesterx7769
When I think of legendary, I think of a mask or character that would have been around for 20+ years and maybe even passed down through different people.

Ditto. But check the CV database. Not necessarily the case.
D-Lyrium
Yeah, Legendary to me would be Tiger Mask, El Santo (and El Hijo Del Santo), Octagon, The Great Sasuke... guys/gimmicks that have been around seemingly forever, where the mask has become part of the character, rather than just a prop to make the character look cooler. Mankind's mask, for example, wouldn't have much prestige at all. Partly because *everyone* knows who it is, partly because it doesn't cover an awful lot of the face in the first place, and partly because nobody really cares about the mask - due mainly to the first two. Same with Hurricane. It was a prop, part of a costume. Everyone knew it was Shane Helms, and he didn't so much 'lose' the mask as 'decided to take it off one day to try a new gimmick'. Basically nobody in America has ever really had a mask that I'd rate above 'medium' (maybe Kane, possibly Rey Jr., since although there was the mask incident in WCW, he's become a massive star since, and the casual WWE fan probably doesn't know about that), simply because the American view of masks is so different. The concept of a 'mask vs. mask' match didn't really catch on anywhere, except in promotions based on lucha libre, or in a fued between two luchadores where the mere fact they were luchadores was enough to raise interest. The thing to bear in mind when rating mask prestige is basically: If this guy were to lose his mask as part of a match stipulation, how big a deal would it be? Hurricane? Not a whole lot. Weak mask. Rey Jr? Quite a big deal for America, but overall not hugely since it's already happened once. Medium. El Hijo Del Santo? Armageddon. Legendary mask.
