Guest Instant Classic
It may be that I just haven't come across it yet, but is there any way to deal with a worker's drinking problem? I've actually got Scott Hall clean, but he's always getting negative reactions due to his drinking problems. Does he have to show up to a show drunk before I can attempt anything? Guest Instant Classic
I hate to be a pain and bump this but does anyone know what to do?
Gigas
Are you sure hes clean or did he just say he was? Did you check the editor and is he reformed?
Historian
It might be something from his long term use of alcohol. Much like Rip Chord in the C-Verse, who saw a drop off in his skills once the drinking took a toll, maybe the game is saying that his performance is suffering from his years of addiction. King Chono
I don't think it's really a big deal. I've booked around 5 A* matches with Bruiser Brody in the D.o.t.T. mod and he gets negative penalties for drinking and consistency in almost every match. My suggestion to deal with it if it irks you soooo much, just in-game edit Scott Hall to not have a drinking problem, or deal with it and book. This is the correct answer. Getting clean means that he no longer has an active drinking problem, it doesn't mean he's completely free from the effects - if he's been destroying his body with heavy drinking it will of course continue to affect him, just as quitting smoking doesn't magically repair a worker's lungs. Guest Instant Classic
The editor says his drinking is still 75%. I got him off the hard and soft drugs, but what I'm saying is so far in 3 game months I have not yet seen anything about any workers showing up drunk, so I am unsure of how to go about getting a worker to cut back on their drinking. You are correct. You dont' have the authority to start invading his personal life, but if he does show up drunk then you can host an intervention
gazwefc83
surely you have the abilty to ivade his personal life when it effects his abilty to work effectivly?
Guest Instant Classic
So pretty much the only way to do something about a worker's drinking is to remove the rule about no alcohol backstage so they might show up drunk?
Historian
That's not necessarily the only way. The problem is not that he drinks, it's that he drinks at such a heavy volume and has for so long. You can cut back the rule on alcohol in the locker room and hopes he shows up drunk so you can put the hammer down to him, or you can try to work around it. This is Scott Hall, after all, and he does not seem to like being sober for very long.
Comradebot
I think its been summed up pretty well. Even if he's now clean, Scott Hall has still abused alcohol for, well... probably decades at this point. It'll still leave your body and mind screwy, so even clean his, now past, drinking problems are still gonna have a negative effect on him. Don't think there's anything you can do but deal with it. Oh, and he's Scott Hall. What did you expect?

Okay, maybe it's me but I've seen the answer several times already. Adam's 'smoking' example. The alcohol thing is similar. Here, lemme put it in the simplest terms possible: GIVE IT TIME. Over time, his body should recover from the effects of years of drinking (hopefully). 'Time' isn't 3 months either. 'Time' is YEARS. Check him again in a year or so and see if his now-reformed alcohol level is lower. If that's not a palatable solution for you, then count it as a lesson. Don't hire known drug users or drinkers. If the mod doesn't have SCOTT HALL of all people with 'Known' drug use or alcohol abuse, the mod, well, sucks.

That's a lifelong alcoholic if I've ever seen one!
