MrKain
In TEW 08 and before, there was an option in the game to make the companies fire everyone and you had to hire from scratch your entire roster... Was that taken out of TEW2010? I tried to start a game up, and it just skipped that part. I'm not interested in going into the details of someone else's MOD and firing everyone manually, just to have to redownload the original files again for a new game... I like to play two games at a time. One with real rosters versus my created fed (that I have to build up), and one as a federation with a load of money, in a world where no one has anyone on their rosters yet... but apparently I'm only able to play my first game due to not seeing this option in the New Game startup... There hasn't been an option to remove all the contracts since TEW04, not quite sure where you got that from... But since that's basically what you are looking for, replacing the contracts file with a blank one from another database would probably achieve the same goal. Though a warning now... doing it that way MIGHT corrupt your data. So make a back up copy before you do anything.
FINisher
.. There wasn't an option like that in TEW08? Or even in the previous games. I guess that could be done by eliminating/replacing the whole contracts.tw file but.. Mm.
Jaded
Didn't think that had been in since either 07 or 05... best way to do it without losing the original database would be to do what you mentioned about deleting contracts, but clone the database first. MrKain
It was 05... sorry, just checked my older games. Yeah... I really wish this option was back in.
Nedew
Copy your database. Mass delete all the promotions in one, then re-import them from the other. Voila!
MrKain
Copy your database. Mass delete all the promotions in one, then re-import them from the other. Voila! Not that bad of an idea. Over-complicated in a way, I guess, since it was originally in the game... but effective. Thanks. My question now is why this was taken out. Adam Ryland
My question now is why this was taken out. Because it takes a huge amount of processing power and code to handle all the related effects (for every contract that is removed you then need to go through the database and removed any references to it, so all titles need to be checked, all tag teams, all stables, etc, etc) for a feature that few people use, which can be fairly easily recreated using the existing tools, and which - crucially - doesn't really have any logical reason to be there in the first place. So would that other guy's idea work, then? Or would I have to do it one by one through each of the 700+ workers...? Thanks, I'm glad you explained the reason for taking it out. No hard feelings about it. (Never used the angryfaic... )
Adam Ryland
Nedew's idea should work, yes. Derek's wouldn't. He's an evil, evil man, ignore him.

Nedew's way would be safer and better, as the big man (Adam, not Nedew ) said.

MrKain
you posted this same topic in the suggestions thread Yes. I also abandoned the other thread after it was explained. Look at the times of the posts. I thought of it as a suggestion AFTER I thought of it here... And haven't bumped the thread at all. Calm down and don't troll. It isn't becoming.
