Why is my main event always a low rated match?!?!?!?!

Recommended Posts

IT's been a full month (April 2010) with my WWE game that my main event has bad ratings. I've build a storyline between Hogan and Batista. The storyline heat was 90, the heat for advance booking was 100 ans Still i got 78 as match rating. whats wrong???

i only use the all out match on the main event.

When i book a PPV it'S not my fault if one of my midcarter match break a A(chris jericho vs john morrisson).... i mean I can't put that as my main event, when I have my WWE title match...

All out on main events is not a good idea. All out means they are not building or even really telling a story, just hitting big move after big move. It doesn't work for longer matches and is probably something you want to avoid. Think of those matches as short, intense sprints. With a 15 or 20 minute TV main event, that really doesn't fit.

Its "your fault" for not accounting for the possibility of two very talented midcarders putting on an awesome match. That's the kind of match where you might want to use "work the crowd", otherwise you risk having them outshine your main event, and that's never a good thing. Accounting for the unexpected good things is part of being a booker.

That is where you as a booker must think "what if i had Jericho and Morrison feud over the WWE title?" Its a part of game really.

Why do people have a problem booking a match after the title match? I guess with Morrison/Jericho it'd be hard unless you had them in an epic storyline.

Especially with the WWE, where there are two main event level titles, and arguably three. Where the tag titles can get treated like a main event title if they choose to. Where they have used one of those main event titles in the opening match on a PPV just a few months ago.

Yeah I'd have no problem doing that and I think its believable. I think HBK vs Undertaker will happen this year, will be the main event, and there will be no title involved. And it should be the main event, title or not.

It'd be like booking Bruce The Giant vs James Justice match after an Enygma vs T-Rex title match.

so if i put "work the crowd" they will have a less big rating to not "outshine" my main event?

also whats up with the match lengh? my main event was 12 minutes as hogan is tired after 15. is this why i got bad ratings? beacause my main event was too short?

Look at the yellow text in the match result that says "After 12:36 Hogan pinned Batista" the first two things it says comments on the in ring work and the crowd, see what it says about the crowd.

People have said why it got bad ratings, if you have the perfect show theory turned on (via user preferences) you are burning out your crowd, everyone has said it. And hopefully by reading the part of the result I suggested you will finally realize it. Fans will get burned out by seeing great match after great match, after great angle, after great match. The pefect show theory works like mountains, up and down up and down, much like real WWE tv does (yes there is reason behind the crappy angles/matches) and you may be thinking "wait, wont putting worse matches on hurt my show rating?" not really, because the last segment(s) have such a high impact on the overall show
