Early August 2010

Jake's Bar, Owl Hill, Belgium

Another quiet evening in the pub. Jimmy's there as usual.

RG: "So, Jimmy, did you enjoy the show? I saw you there..."

Jimmy: "Well, with a handful of people attending, it's pretty hard not to see me, isn't it? This thing must be costing you loads."

RG: "Never mind that. What did you think?"

Jimmy: "Guess it was okay. The Snowdude is scary. But I liked that guy Svensson the best. He looks like he knows what he's doing in the ring."

RG: "Yeah, he has been putting on some solid matches. I should push him a bit more I think. Also a very nice guy in general."

Jimmy: "Didn't like the German or the Italian though. I'll give the Dutchie a pass. I just ... you know, insulted him because he's Dutch."

RG: "He'll be fine. He's used to it by now. The German's Otto Hammerschmidt. I expected more from him. I mean, he's the only guy who has a bit of experience but it hasn't shown yet. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep him on the show next year."

Jimmy: "RG, get me another beer, will ya? But no ordinary Stella. Give me something special."

RG: "Just because you attended. I'll get you a Westvleteren on the house. Just don't tell anyone! One condition though...

Jimmy: "What's that?"

RG: "You're attending this month's show as well."

Jimmy: "I can live with that. Now...where's that Westvleteren?"

OMWF Stage Fright

August 2010

Jake's Bar, Owl Hill, Belgium

--

Jimmy's is the crowd but it's really quiet. Holiday season, a bad economy and a general lack of interest is hitting us hard. Considering our finances, I'm also not booking a few guys that generate little or no interest.

Darius Hughes runs up to me.

DH: "Guv, come to the back. Snowy's at it again."

RG: "Not again."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx165/rikgeerts/TheSnowman.jpg

In the locker room The Snowman has taken up about half of the room with his gear and travel stuff. Nearly everyone else is crowded at the other side, obviously to their dismay.

RG: "Look, Snowman, you can't keep doing this. Give these guys some room, man."

Snowman: "Pron! Loc! Mult!"

RG: "Look, not again. Move over, give these guys some room. Last time I'm saying this. Got it?"

Snowman looks at RG with a menacing glare before relunctantly moving his stuff.

RG: "I'm getting tired of this guy's antics" he whispers to Darius Hughes.

Gordon Leve defeated Armand Hardwicke in 7:57 by pinfall with a Double Israeli Suplex

Leve continues his good form by dominating and basically squashing Armand Hardwicke. A decent opener. I need to do something with Hardwicke...he's a nice guy and deserves something better than just opening. Leve wins it with the Double Israeli Suplex.

Mathias Koskinen defeated Otto Hammerschmidt in 8:16 by pinfall with a Crucifix Powerbomb

Koskinen gets a nice upset victory in an open match. Not a good match. A real lack of flow there, and the crowd not liking Hammerschmidt. Still, Hammerschmidt was signed as a veteran who should learn the youngsters a few tricks but he hasn't really done that. His contract ends next month and that will probably be it for the German.

RG enters the ring and calls out Jason Dempsey. Jason Dempsey then talks to RG, talking about how he wants the OMWF title and how soon that will be the case. Decent segment, even if Dempsey isn't a great talker, at least we kept the interest going.

Jason Dempsey defeated Aleksander Knyazev in 8:11 when Aleksander Knyazev was disqualified when The Snowman ran in and attacked Jason Dempsey

A nice solid match between these two. The match went back and forth, Knyazev dominating early on with a series of stiff punches and kicks before Dempsey took over later in the match. Snowman then ran out and hit Dempsey in the back of the head to draw the DQ. Snowman pummeled on Dempsey a bit more till other workers pulled him off.

Leigh Burton and Wade Orson defeated Absolutely Flawless in 7:31 when Kelly Martin was counted out while fighting Wade Orson

A good tag bout. Absolutely Flawless worked together well, double-teaming Orson and Burton for most of the match. Burton hit a nice German Suplex to bounce back into the match. The end came out of nowhere when Orson and Kelly Martin fought on the outside but Orson was just able to beat the ten count and pick up a close victory.

Jake's Bar Special Match for the OMWF Title : The Snowman defeated Nigel Svensson in 12:17 by submission with a Tongan Death Grip after blatantly cheating. During the match we also had Jason Dempsey run in and attack Snowman. The Snowman makes defence number 6 of his OMWF King of the Hill Title title.

An interesting pub brawl where Svensson held his own against Snowman. Dempsey came out of the back and hit Snowman in the back of the head with a chair. Svensson tried to put on the Hyper Extension Arm Lock but failed. Snowman capitalised and pulled him head first into the pool table, knocking him out. The Tongan Death Grip was manditory.

Early September 2010

Jake's Bar

Quite a busy night at Jake's Bar. A few people have stopped by recently to check out the wrestling ring and the pub. Good to make a bit of extra cash. Jimmy's at the bar as usual.

Jimmy: "RG, this is the first time in nearly a year where I've noticed people stopping by for the wrestling fantasy you got."

RG: "I've noticed a few small websites writing the results online. At least it generates some interest, even if small."

Jimmy : "I liked last show better than the other one."

RG: "I need to trim the roster. I'm letting that ****y Italian Giabroni go to start. Also Vic Walker, I'm tired of making ****tails for the guy. And Ultra Fly and Otto Hammerschmidt as well."

Jimmy: "Not bad. What about that Dutchie?"

RG: "I got something planned for him. I'm starting a tag division this month. And I need someone to fight those English twins."

Jimmy: "What do you have in mind?"

RG: "I've contacted another Dutchie called Ronny De Veuster. I'm going to team him with the other guy Hardwicke and call them ... wait for it ... Dutch Domination!"

Jimmy : "They're going to be boo'd out of this place, man. Don't do that."

RG: "Sorry, my mind is made up. This month we'll see the OMWF Tag Team Titles coming into effect."

Jimmy: "Euhm..."

RG: "And I'm going to be giving more chances to Orson and the Martins. These guys are doing well. That Kelly Martin said he was going to change styles a bit. Less technical, more traditional styled wrestling."

Jimmy: "Euhm..."

RG: "What is it, Jimmy?"

Jimmy: "I've talked enough about wrestling. I need a beer, and those two tables are waiting as well."

RG: "Sorry...right."

Darius Hughes comes up to me.

DH: "Guv, no need for a backstage talk tonight. They're all playing."

RG: "Playing?"

DH: "That Israeli guy Leve brought a PS3, hooked it up and they're playing FIFA."

RG: "FIFA? Why not wrestling?"

DH: "Don't know why. Something about John Terry's wife I think one of the blokes said."

RG: "Aah, Toni Terry, how we all love yee!"

DH: "Anyway, they seem to be enjoying themselves. Better let them be."

MAtch for the vacant OMWF Tag Team Titles: Absolutely Flawless defeated Dutch Domination in 8:03 when Kelly Martin defeated Ronny de Veuster by pinfall with a Flawless Driver. Absolutely Flawless win the OMWF Tag Team Titles titles.

Ronny De Veuster makes his debut, also sporting an unlucky gimmick. The crowd digs into the Dutch team. The Martins are beter and more experienced and dominate the Dutchies. The end comes when De Veuster clotheslines Hardwicke by accident and the Martins set up the Flawless Driver to become the first OMWF Tag Team champs.

Gordon Leve continues his good form in a more than decent match. Burton is holding his own against most opponents and looks to be improving. In a back and forth match, Leve in the end was able to slap on the Double Arm Lock and after a valliant fight Burton tapped.

Knyazev and Svensson don't work well together which hampered this match once again. Svensson is clearly the better during this match and Knyazev only was able to profit by using underhanded tactics. But Svensson fought back, got a rally going and slapped on the Hyper Extension Arm Lock for the clean win.

Cage Escape Classic for the OMWF King of the Hill Title : The Snowman defeated Wade Orson in a 1 vs 1 Cage Escape match in 10:18 when The Snowman escaped the cage. Wade Orson had successfully left the cage earlier, but the referee had been unconscious and so had missed it. During the match we also had Jason Dempsey distract Snowman. The Snowman makes defence number 7 of his OMWF King of the Hill Title title.

Excellent match here. The Snowman overpowered Orson in the beginning of the match but the agility of Orson was more than a match for Snowman. In an even match the end came rather surprisingly. Wade Orson reversed a whip into the corner and sent Snowman crashing into referee Neill Feirn. Orson scrambled out of the cage, and was followed by The Snowman. Orson celebrated the title and Dempsey came out to taunt Orson. Ref Feirn then got back to consciousness in the ring and ordered the both of them back in, much to the dismay of Orson. But hey, lack of a second referee you know. Orson complained to Feirn and turned right into a vicious piledriver by The Snowman who climbed the cage to escape with the title. Solid match!

OMWF Tag Title Match: Absolutely Flawless defeated Dutch Domination in 8:28 when Lance Martin defeated Armand Hardwicke by pinfall with a Flawless Driver. Absolutely Flawless make defence number 1 of their OMWF Tag Team Titles titles

Lance & Kelly Martin easily dominate the Dutch tag team, proving why they became the tag champions last month. Not a real match, more like an opener. Hardwicke and De Veuster are just learning the ropes as a tag team but Absolutely Flawless looked good there. Easy win, Lance hitting the Flawless Driver on Hardwicke and that's all she wrote.

LM: "Not sure? Kelly?"

KM: "Not sure, Lance."

RG: "I mean, you guys do need some competition. I was thinking of a team where one guy is the leader and the other just does what he is told."

LM: "Could work."

KM: "Suppose it could. Yeah."

RG: "So....anyone?"

LM: "Hmmm...I know of a guy called John Michael Sharp....he's been a bit of a tag wrestler. He could be interested. Want me to ask him?"

OMWF Heat Wave

November 2010

Jake's Bar, Owl Hill, Belgium

Alright, the two new English blokes have turned up. I'm teaming them together as "Sharp & co" where Sharp is the leader and general cool dude and Simpson is sort of the servant that does his bidding. Should be fun. Also I hold negatiations with Leigh Burton's mom to extend his contract. Turns out she likes Belgian beer so that wasn't too hard.

Darius Hughes runs up to me.

DH: "Hey, have a look backstage."

RG: "Trouble again?"

DH: "No, not really...that Norwegian is just ... a nutcase."

RG heads backstage with Darius Hughes. Mathias Koskinen is backstage, wearing a fake beard and basically grunting and threatening Jason Dempsey.

MK: "Se på meg ! Jeg er en yeti !"

Koskinen begins to shout loudly.

MK : "Ikke le ! Jeg er det største ! Jeg er det sterkeste ! Og dette er mitt belte ! For evig ! ! ! "

Koskinen shouts even louder than before...

MK: "Og, mest av all, har jeg ikke vætet mine bukser !"

Everybody is just watching and laughing at the crazy Norwegian. He's a nutter.

Alright, the usual crowd...students are attending. Business has picked up a bit and with the new contracts, with lots of wrestlers dropping their demand for travel expenses, we are now almost running a break even show. Almost, that is...

Absolutely Flawless defeated Leigh Burton and Wade Orson in 8:23 when Leigh Burton was disqualified while fighting Kelly Martin. Absolutely Flawless make defence number 2 of their OMWF Tag Team Titles titles

The veterag tag champs hold off their challenge for the week but only just. Orson and Burton looked solid contenders here, Orson dominating Kelly Leigh early on. Burton then got into a bit of a jam, the Martins hitting a nice double team move on him but Burton got the hot tag to Orson who cleaned house. Just as Burton and Orson looked to be able to finish it, Kelly Martin threw a chair at Lance Martin, the chair was intercepted by Leigh Burton who clobbered Lance in front of the referee with it. A DQ for the contenders as Absolutely Flawless escape with the titles.

Nigel Svensson drew with Gordon Leve in 8:00 when the time limit expired.

An interesting and action packed bout here. Leve has picked up quite a few wins already here and Svensson has looked good in every outing. Svensson and Leve put on a technical display which looked good, but both seemed to be holding something back. A real back and forth match, that ended when the time limit expired. Both men shook hands and left.

Cage Escape Classic for the OMWF King of the Hill Title: The Snowman defeated Jason Dempsey in a 1 vs 1 Cage Escape match in 9:12 when The Snowman escaped the cage. Jason Dempsey had successfully left the cage earlier, but the referee had been unconscious and so had missed it. The Snowman makes defence number 8 of his OMWF King of the Hill Title title.

A hot match, both men wanting to taste the blood of the other. Dempsey started really strong, grinding Snowman's head into the cage till he drew some blood but Snowman is no pushover and hit Dempsey with a Spinebuster that rocked him. Snowman then was all over Dempsey until Dempsey countered and threw Snowman into referee Neil Feirn. Dempsey climbed the cage while Snowman remained in the cage. Snowman then proceeded to kick the door open and brawled with Dempsey outside the ring area. Neil Feirn, seeing both men outside, ordered them back in. Snowman got the better then out of a tired Dempsey, hitting him with a wicked piledriver and climbed out of the cage to retain the title once again and leaving Dempsey furious at the outcome.
