gazwefc83
Just got thinking, did there used to be an option of my a worker in the editor a playable character? Meaning you could use them as your avatar, or am i thinking of a different game entirely?
Craig Edwards
that use to be in one of the other TEW where you use to check a box saying the character can be use as players avatar
AlaskanHero
Yeah, that was in TEW 2004.

Derek B
Thought so, anybody know why this was removed? Was removed back in 05 when users simply worked "behind the scenes" and was never brought back when user characters were introduced. And before someone goes and suggests it again, don't bother because it's been done. And is unlikely to make a comeback either. User characters in their current form are handled differently than a regular worker, making the two filestypes incompatible and therefore making the suggestion pointless. EDIT: I'm dismayed to find the suggestion already in the suggestions forum... why bother suggesting stuff that's been removed... why bother asking questions and not waiting for the answers? *sigh*
EWBSDM
It can be simulated with the editor anywoot.

Derek B
what is the point in the suggestions thread, every suggestion just gets shot down, you and Adam seem to very been very touchy this year when usually your both very nice It's not so much being touchy as it is growing weary of seeing the same few posters making the same suggestions that have been made over and over again... or worse, watching the same few posters not read the responses. I could just completely ignore you and not try to help, but I want you to understand how the game works and how your ideas fit into the framework of the game. Most suggestions are fairly simple things that often are already in, are fluff or are silly. When that sort of thing comes from a new poster it's not so bad... but when it comes from someone who has had the game explained to them countless times and should be able to see why it's not a good idea/how it's already in with different terms/has been discussed before, I get frustrated. I try to offer as much help as possible and explain things as best as I can to help people better understand the game and make better mods (better modmaking means I can play better games )... but there are a handful of posters who just don't seem to read what is being said, and they're usually also the same ones who complain that their points are being rebuffed with logic. It's frustrating, and I know I'm coming across as more frustrated because of it too.

AdmiralZ
You can still make your user character an active worker though, and thank goodness for it, because without me, my promotion would be going down the tubes.

The idea was to be able to play as the likes of Ric Flair in my 1989 mod, i liked the idea of piper also It can be simulated with the editor anywoot. No, you carnt add avaters to the title history, hall of immortals, worker relationships etc
Phantom Stranger
No, you carnt add avaters to the title history, hall of immortals, worker relationships etc Title history I'll give you. Avatars don't retire, thus can't enter the Hall. And the in-game editor allows you to create worker relationships. Avatars are included in that list. If you don't select that avatar to enter the game, then they're not added to the DB and all those title HoI, relationships would error out. Title histories... you can always just add them in and name them after your avatar. Why not?
AdmiralZ
Avatars don't retire, thus can't enter the Hall. They can become future members though, so are you sure they can't become full members?
