Wrestling Century
Does anybody know of any indy companies that are family friendly that I can buy dvds of? Since indy companies aren't on tv, they usually have no restrictions and thus are sometimes vulgar, so I cannot watch them with my kids.

thatoneguy
CHIKARA is the very definition of Family Friendly. EDIT: WLW is also pretty family friendly. In the way that old school NWA wrestling was. No cursing, little to no blood, normal storylines about X fighting Y for belt, Y gets cronies to jump X, etc. etc.
HughBatey4
CHIKARA Pro is clean. ProSouth Wrestling is clean. You have to contact their myspace to get DVDs though. www.myspace.com/prosouthwrestling

Wrestling Century
So is seems that Chikara is probably the way to go. I honestly love that promotion so I've watched it before, so does anybody know any other family friendly promotions? I'm trying to introduce my kids to a lot of indy wrestling so they don't grow up thinking that WWE and TNA are the only wrestling companies. The Celt
Pro Wrestling Guerilla right now might count. Great wrestling that I think the whole family can watch. They used to be too violent a few years make (Kevin Steen Vs Super Dragon=VIOLENCE OVERDOSE) but now they've settled a bit, and gone back to their comedy roots. One of PWG's top moments was during an El Generico match when they was a sudden lull in the noise of the crowd right before Generico was about to hit a move, and a little child shouted in the cutest noise "Come on El Generico!", causing the entire crowd to go "aaaawwwwwhhhh"

But then again, I'm probably wrong.
BurningHamster
So is seems that Chikara is probably the way to go. I honestly love that promotion so I've watched it before, so does anybody know any other family friendly promotions? I'm trying to introduce my kids to a lot of indy wrestling so they don't grow up thinking that WWE and TNA are the only wrestling companies. New England Championship Wrestling are pretty family friendly, not sure if they still do but they used to have a show online. I think ECWA are reasonably family friendly too. If you don't mind international stuff, most lucha libre is family friendly as are the major Japanese promotions most of the time. If you don't mind going old skool, WWF and British wrestling such as World of Sport are pretty safe for the younguns. EDIT: Yeah, PWG does have some swearing and I don't really see it as being for the little ones.
fatallylost
CURSE YOU CHUCK TAYLOR!!! You mean Bless you Mr. Taylor! Also, PWG, not sure. I have only missed Kurt Russellmania, and BOLA in the last year, and, honestly, there can be a bit of profanity (although there is very little on the DVD, as most of it falls in promos, and in between the action) There can be blood, but, only in the matches you would imagine there would be. So, I would say that PWG might be a bit PG-13ish. Not real great for small kids (especially Cabana's gay rants, and prancing) but, if they're a little older, go for it! Wrestling Century
Thanks everybody for the suggestions! I think that I will introduce my kids to Chikara, HWA, ECWA and some of the other ones that you guys suggested. Then again I should probably say that I'm going to introduce my son to indy wrestling seeing as my other son is only 4 months old!
