Is this game worth it?

Recommended Posts

The game is 35 dollars

Its only available on this website

There are several "mods" or scenerios or whatever else you want to call them with multiple past and present WWE rosters, fantasy mods, can creation mods, all sorts of different rosters to play with.

I'm not sure what you mean about other forms of gameplay so I won't answer that. I suggest d/ling the demo on greydogsoftware.com click on wrestling then TEW 10 and D/L the demo.

Only you can decide if a game is worth it.

to answer the question I would say it is definately worth it if you are into text based wrestling games. If not then the game may not be for you but if so it is a great investment and definately worth the price.

However like others said if you think this is a console game it isn't so you would be out of luck.

How do keep playing when there is always new Mod updates comming out for Real Life.

Like I'll play a month or two of game play and then see on here that the data Ive been using is updated, and see the changes. So i download the new data and start over. It just seems I can never play the game for a long period of time. So I guess Im asking is how do you keep your interest in the current data, when you know the new one is better.

Download a data mod you like, update to your liking, and then keep playing. :)

I want to know what the retail version has that the demo doesn't before I buy this. I know that you can go longer than a month in game in the retain version and I'm seriously looking into buying it.

The month limit being removed is the only difference.

If you guys that are unsure about purchasing the game do actually decide to give it a go, let me stress that PATIENCE is the ultimate virtue. The learning curve for these games (especially TEW 10, the most feature-rich release yet) is extremely steep, so it will take quite some time before you have a good handle on everything. And even then, actually gaining popularity and generally growing your promotion is a game of months and years, not days and weeks.

If you have questions, you'll definitely want to read the entire help file and ask around on the boards. But as for whether or not this game is worth it...with the amount of gameplay and replay value you can get, $35 is a bargain.

First off, not everyone plays the most up to date, real world mods. Not only will they change constantly, as you've pointed out, but they also tend to be not as well fleshed out as either the CornellVerse or more "historical" real life mods. In fact, I dare say those who play strictly the most up-to-date RW mods very well may be in the minority.

And, really, what makes it "better"? Starting a game at the start of 2010, as oppossed to halfway through, would just be that. It's not about having the world be EXACTLY like it is in real life, but doing whatever you want to do. Maybe you'd like to go back to 1997 and see if you can't turn ECW into a real major power and make it survive until modern times.

Maybe you'd like to go back into the mid-80s and book folks from then.

Maybe you'd like to give the (excellent and supremely well-balanced) C-Verse a shot, since you don't have to worry about it "updating" like real life so often, freeing you to follow a path with a company of your own choosing.

There's far, far, far more to this game than "the most current, real life mod". If you just play that, then you're limiting yourself considering the wealth of options in games you can play with TEW.

And seriously, I always pimp it out, but give the C-Verse a try. Its quite the different (and I dare say better) experience than you can get out of an "up to date" real world scenario. It, and the DOTT (which I believe someone is updating for 2010) mod are the most rocking to me.

Just my $.02, take it, leave it, put it in a high yield bond, whatever.

I have to say, personally, that I thought the CornellVerse was stupid fantasy crap with goofy character designs...until I actually played it. Don't write it off simply because it's totally fictional...as the above post said it's very balanced, but more than that it's so in-depth and fully realized that when I'm playing I easily forget that these promotions and these characters don't exist. It's that good.

Like others of said, DL the demo and give it a whirl, but remember, it is hard to experience all this game has to offer in only a month as many things unfold the longer the game goes, so the demo is just a taste.

You have to put thought into shows and your business plan and different size promotions offer a wide array of challenges. The mod community here is awesome and you can get RL mods from the 1980's up through the present time so you have tons of replay options, just don't sell the C-verse short. I did for years and am finally playing it with this version and am actually upset I never gave it a chance earlier.

If you are a wrestling fan and want a fun, challenging game, then yes, this is worth it.
