aznironman
Can anyone provide me the requirements for a promotion to close due to bankruptcy? I would like to know how simulate a national promotion going into the bankruptcy and closing. In previous TEW games, I believe all you needed was a promotion to be deep in the negative for six months, correct? In the test I have ran, I have used narratives to basically put SWF about -$40mil and prestige to F-. SWF started with F- Momentum. I ran about 18 months into the game and although they are still about -$28mil in the red, they are still around at International status. At the same time, HGC started at Cult level with A* momentum with $50mil in the bank. I modified all the starting contract wages to ridiculous amounts (i.e. Sam Strong with $750k/month, Rip Chord with $625k/month, etc) just to see what happens. 18 months in, HGC is at Global status now with $-33mil in the bank. So you can have -$25mil or more in debt and still be open? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.
Comradebot
I can't give a full answer, as I don't have all the information, but a few things I think I can take a shot at... With SWF, they're still putting on good shows I imagine, and have already wiped out $15 million in debt, which means they are still being very, very profitable. I'd have to think that, if a promotion shows it has the capability to pay back its debt in good time that the banks will be far more lenient on them. It's not like EX2010 who, after being just 40k in the hole, are about to go under, likely on account that they have shown no signs of being able to pay off their debts in the immediate future, and are more likely to just keep adding to the pile rather than subtracting. Heck, MOSC in my EWA game are starting to turn the corner... I'm really hoping that if they can they can manage to survive. I like being able to bring in Geordie Jimmy Morris with his awesome backstageness and performance skills... If you really wanted to kill off SWF (in 1997?), I'd suggest making all of their written deals ridiculously high and/or removing all of their top talent. Thanks for your input. Well, I tried "ridiculously high" contracts with HGC. And even though they are having A/B+/B shows, they are still losing about $2-3mil a month... but are still "running wild". lol. I'm thinking that you have to be in the negative and maybe be below national status (cult?). I'm thinking if you are National or above, it's assumed that you will make the money you need? Like I said, I'm no expert on the subject.

Like I said, I'm no expert on the subject. I'd say this is probably it. I would say that most likely they are making huge money on PPV's, having good TV deals and tons of sponsors so the feeling would be it'll get better. Try lowering their popularity everywhere but the USA and see how long it lasts.
praguepride
I think things like popularity & size factor into how long you can be in debt before closing. A small or local promotion only gets a couple months, but I can see national or global promotions getting YEARS to recoup costs before being axed. Sim out another 18 months and see what happens... HGC went bankrupt in April 1999 (losing about 2-3mil a month since January 1997) starting at $50mil. They were at Global status. SWF actually managed to turn everything around and make a comeback in to the positive. (WOW). So I'm going to adjust some things and see if I can get it to where I want it. Although, it would be nice to have the criteria if someone could provide it.
aznironman
After adjusting SWF to start as cult (on the brink of being national) and a long setup of narratives, even though they reach global status, they eventually close around 25-27 months of being in debt. Once HGC reaches debt, they close about the same time length. So I believe its safe to say 24-28 months for 'above national' promotions to close while in debt.
