EffVerse 2005 [HYPE Thread]

Here we go again :D

 

 

I'm back at work on an EffVerse mod, though this time I am taking a much more simplistic approach.

 

What I attempted to do last year was far too ambitious and turned into an impossible task.

 

So this time I'm just creating a database from scratch without having to import from a simmed game. Everything is going to be done in steps so that the game can be playable at an earlier stage.

 

The first thing I'm going to do is create the workers, promotions, and all the necessary stuff. Once all of this is done and the game is balanced and playable, it will be released. All workers will have pics, which I think is extremely important. I have a nice selection of renders thanks to a lot of contributors on this board. This means that the initial roster won't be gigantic (I'd guess between 800 - 1000). But this is part of the step process, allowing me to increase the workers as often as possible.

 

After that I'll begin working on the history, title lineage, awards, and things of that nature. Basically anything that is nice to have in the mod, but isn't necessary for the game to be played.

 

As the thread title suggests, this mod takes place in 2005. The reason I am doing this is to eventually do a micro version of what I planned last year. Once the 2005 mod is satisfactory, I can sim ahead to present day (whenever that may be) and see how the world evolves. This will be the basis for what will eventually become a present day mod. But that is in the future and not important right now.

 

As it stands, there will be some stuff that is just pulled over from the CVerse. Things like locations, angles, storylines, injuries, and gimmicks. Having new locations would certainly be awesome, but unless someone feels froggy and decides to create new locations, it just won't happen.

 

Progress:

 

At any speed, the team (thanks for all the help people who know who they are!) and I are working on Step 1. Many promotions have been added (most from the Effganic data, but modified for this data). Character creation and backstory type stuff is also in the works.

 

There is no estimation as to the release, but there are about 57 promotions in the game currently (none finished) and about 200 workers added (about 1/10 finished).

There are a lot of people that have tried this and gotten burnt out, so we'll see. :)

I'm optimistic for this year though. Had we done things different last year, we probably could have easily put a "from scratch" mod out with as much time as we put in.

Haven't updated this in ages, though really haven't had much to post.

 

 

Been working on renders for workers and still reworking old bios/stats. Still a very long way to go though.

 

I can try to make a few locations if you want, a few guys you need created, and companys. But since I have never help on something like this before I am not sure how much help I will be on anything but locations.

I've finished fixing the old workers for America, Canada, and Mexico. Probably going to be starting on filling and shaping those areas soon. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I'm in desperate need of good logos. I may even be willing to work out some kind of arrangement of renders for logos. Maybe.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I just found out that there is a real promotion named "Viva La Lucha" so I'm going to have to scrap it.</p>

Work is still ongoing.

 

 

I did a bunch of house cleaning, getting rid of promotions and workers I wasn't happy with.

 

 

I've been adding and editing mainly in the States recently, as MichiganHero volunteered his services and has begun working on Europe.

 

 

The mod is still a long way off, but it is heading in the right direction.

 

 

If anyone would like to submit characters (not featured in any other mods) please feel free to do so.

Can I have some information on the backstory and on the promotion active in the 2005 game world...I am a real fun of the Effverse so I'm very intersted...

 

Things are still being worked out and only some rough ideas in place for now. As workers get added and the team and I get a better feel for how we want things, it will flesh out some more.

 

 

What we are working on right now is just adding workers to the data. Some of them we know will be featured in particular promotions, but for the most part it is something we'll address later. So the kind of character submissions we are looking for are for non attatched workers that we can go in later and attach (and tweak bios to connect them).

 

 

That said, within this link is a list of the promotions currently in the game. There will certainly be more added and many of them altered. The highlighted promotions are the ones that will be running from the games start.

Great to see SPW still in business...anyway I see their open date as February 1999... and I also suppose GSE is the WWEesque promotion of the universe...

 

...very intersting...If I found some time in the next days I can think about some worker...tell me if you are intersted

 

Yeah, the data takes the promotions from the Effganic, but not the history.

 

GSE is the big league and WWE like. Was former NAWA but they changed the name to reach out to the international markets.

 

SPW is actually the development promotion for GSE.

 

Elite Wrestling is much like WCW during the dying days.

Go figure, I've pretty much given up on this. I just couldn't seem to make any real progress without burning myself out.

 

 

Fear not though, as I can make the data available if someone wants to use it for a mod of their own. This includes all of the renders I've made, the logos that I have made (or been made for me by aja_nyc), and anything else of mine. I don't mind helping out with a mod if the person is interested.

 

 

I'd prefer serious modders only as I really want to see this come to fruition some day whether as part of its own universe or an extension to the Cverse.
