Don't book hardcore matches i've tried it and only got bad comments from it

Don't think of PSW as ECW or CZW, think of it more like DAVE, which isn't real...

Don't stereotype it as hardcore.

What the heck are you guys talking about?

The key about PSW is that you need to import or create more hardcore match options. The default database is too extreme, your matches are either very low risk or very high. Few of your workers will do very risky matches (only Steven Parker and Dead Bolt will by default) so you need to get some "average" and "high" risk matches in the DB.

I like to create a hardcore streetfight match at high content/injury risk and a thumbtack match at average risk/injury.

As for the roster breakdown:

Main event: Alex & Johnny are your star performers, they can pull off pretty decent matches. Phunk & Frankie are charasmatic and do really well in "work the crowd" matches and also angles.

Upper Card: Matt Keith & Steven Parker are your stars of the upper card, but unless you cheat you're going to lose Steve to either SWF or TCW very shortly. Matt sticks around for awhile but he quickly becomes triple booked.

The tag team division is REALLY weak at the moment. Phunk & Frankie don't work well because they are main eventers AND they're opposing alignments. Next Gen are a good tag team but again, Keith is stuck with the national title.

The Deadly Alliance, Good Ole Boys and Dead rage are terrible workers. Don't expect anything above an E+ when they're in a match. Honestly I'd let the tag team division take a back burner while you focus on strengthing the roster as a whole, but it's up to you how important tag team is.

Finally, the lower card has some good guys and awful dead weight. Nelson Callum is a great up-and-comer, but Lazy Joe and Little Bill are dead weight. Lazy Joe is too old to develop and his skills are awful. Little Bill is getting pretty old but has a nasty personality.

Speaking of personality, I tend to fire Fabulous Frank pretty quick. There are other road agents out there without the backstage baggage.

As for hardcore, like I said if you import or create some hardcore matches that aren't very high content risk, you can get some decent match grades.

You just need to be honest with yourself becuase you "could" create a high risk, high prestige, very low injury "cheat" match but I guess you can play however you want to.

That's the point i'm saying about how they reject my match propositions

When I look at PSW, after playing it a bit, the point isn't just hardcore based matches, but high content risk matches with cruiserweights. So I'd go out and find a few liberal Cruiserweights (I used Erik Strong & Trent Shaffer in '08, but Erik is on written with NotBPW now) and put them in decently risky (average or higher) matches.

Exactly.

Whaaaaaat?

The Deadly Alliance, terrible workers? Since when does being towards the top end of the company in terms of Performance skills make them "terrible" workers? Great, not at all, but terrible does NOT describe them.

The Good Ol' Boys, Tank Bradley, Lazy Joe... those are the guys who I'd be a little more hard pressed to keep on the roster. Little Bill is deceptively better than he looks (due to be, well... "average" in all of his in-ring stats), but statwise is actually very comparable to (the much younger, though) Nelson Callum.

The real problem with PSW's workers are that they aren't all that over. It's hard to expect too many folks to put on higher than E+/D- matches when they have E-/E popularity. Yeah, Matthew Keith can... but Matthew Keith is possibly in the top 5% of workers in terms of in-ring skill and shouldn't be the benchmark by which you rate the rest of the roster.

In a popularity based fed like PSW, most of the roster's in-ring abilities are more than servicable. It's about building pop with them, not running off everyone in the midcard other than Steven Parker and Matthew Keith.

Honestly, I've got TIP to the same popularity levels as PSW's current main eventers before (about a D), and could get C- matches out of him, comparable to what the other guys can do. Admittingly, still not as good as what some of those other guy can do, but I resent the notion he's a terrible worker. Maybe a bit of a pain backstage and, well... 43... but that doesn't take away from his ability to put on solid matches given the opportunity.

That's my point. There is no middle ground in the default DB so you have to make it. House of Fun, Scaffold etc. require Cult size or larger. Ladder matches & table matches & regular hardcore matches are at very low or low content.

You'll need to invent some matches yourself. Now, if you read my PSW diary you'll see that it's not entirely hardcore, but hardcore is definitely the main attraction. That's why it's a key feature in the product setting.

They do not have great performance stats when you compare them to the rest of hte main event:

Alex Braun, Johnny Martin, Frankie Future, JD Morgan, Matt Keith, Steven Parker, and Grandmaster Phunk all easily beat out the Deadly Alliance in performance stats.

Add to that their advanced age. In 90% of my games they are heavily in stat decline. Switching over to numbers I'm watching them lose full points every month.

Their physical condition isn't great, especially on the wolverine, they have no entertainment value (no charisma, menace, or even sex appeal).

They're a couple of veteran place holders. Now I'm not saying that they're not valuable to your roster, I'd never fire them as they do have some decent performance skills.

But I wouldn't make them a key match. They're more of "valley" wrestlers then "peak" wrestlers. I use them to throw some mindless bloodshed out to appease the crowds before I bring on the main event.
