LoganRodzen Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 At Medium, the penalty is minor. At Strong, the penalty is a killer. What do you recommend to use then? I've had quite a few triple threat matches throughout the years in this WCW game I have going and they've never turned out too bad. I always get the penalty but it hasn't killed the match or anything. Rocky Weatherfield vs Davis Wayne Newton vs Jay Chord for WCW World title was an A-rated main event at The Night Of The Champions PPV I put on a month ago. I've never done face vs face or heel vs heel matches because I have that setting set to 'strong'. I'm sure this discussion has taken place before but what if you want to pull off Hogan vs Warrior? Or in my CVerse game it would be Rocky Weatherfield vs Xavi Ferrera - both are insanely over babyfaces who could put on a great match together. Is that something that just can't be programmed for the game to understand? If it was set to 'medium' would you be able to accomplish that type of match without it suffering a major penalty?
Bigpapa42 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Face vs face matches seem doable even with the divide set to Strong. The penalty hurts but it doesn't kill. Heel vs heel, or heel vs heel vs heel, is far worse. You are basically not giving the fans anyone at all to cheer for.
Remianen Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I don't use divides higher than Medium because there are times when it can be appropriate to have matches between people of similar disposition and painting all instances with the same broad brush works against that, in my view. As it is, multi person matches can already stack up several minor penalties (that become fairly large when added up) so a 1v1v1 match would automatically garner additional penalty because there's bound to be more than one of a particular disposition. With the new feature of not even indicating disposition with a divide of 'none', I use the 'medium' setting as a personal accounting measure and just chalk up the occasional penalty as a cost of doing business.

Heel vs heel, or heel vs heel vs heel, is far worse. You are basically not giving the fans anyone at all to cheer for. I haven't run any same-disposition matches, in '10 yet. Is the penalty verifiably smaller for face/face than heel/heel? Your explanation definitely holds water when analyzing this in reality, but is that represented in-game, or are all same-disposition matches penalized equally?
Spyridon Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 This is what I discovered so far... T&N Levels: The higher the T&A levels, the more Sex Appeal improves the performance of the Manager. When you have it on None the Manager role is graded by his microphone and acting skills. However I do not know for certain if this only applies to managers only or to the whole staff. FACE & HEEL: When you are on strong, if you ever dare to book a Face vs Face or a Face wrestler with Heel Manager you will get a penalty (some times as 2 grades down) of the segment grade. I have no experience on other values (none, medium) of this product characteristic, because I always use strong in my companies.
soundsofsilver Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 So what is the point of ever using a strong divide? Why would you want to handicap yourself? The only possible upside would be that my heels get over quicker by doing heelish things, like T-Rex attacking James Justice all the time. Is that how it works?
Teh_Showtime Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 the penalty cant be that bad if you have good workers behind it I got a 99% match between Jeremy and Dan Jr. both as faces (albiet stones are epic) and the penalty was applied In December 1999 I got a 78 rated match between Tommy Cornell and Vengeance both as heels. my product is equal performance/pop Cornell had solid B in that area and Vengeance had D+. I think it's easier to get by in main events, if both are over enough. But Im not too sure about midcarders
