Blackman Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I assume, since we are able to have a development camp at Cult level, that there must be a way to sign new workers on a written deal, else you can't send someone to the camp anyhow, making it utterly useless. So... How is this possible? I make a character with 10 on negotiating, and it didn't work out for NOTBPW at Cult.
FINisher Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 You need to have high promotion momentum and a lot of money (7M was it?).
Kainlock Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 you need 7m or more in the bank. You need have high momentum like B+ or more. It also helps to have people who are friends or relatives with the workers you are trying hire 2.
jesterx7769 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Worker relationshps is huge too. If there is someone specifically you want see if there is anyone else you can hire that they have a positive relationshp with
PoisonedSuperman Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I was going to ask this, but decided to search first. I"m going to give this a little bump back up to the top. I tried everyting with USPW, I heard that you needed a high backstage moral, a high stat for negotiations so I put that all the way up and made the backstage give all the good and none of the bad until it got until 88.2 then I thought maybe relationship did play a part so I tried to sign Happy Elwood but still didn't work. But now I know that I need high momentum and 7 million in the bank, thanks people!
PoisonedSuperman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 So I got Rayne Man to sign a written deal with me but now I have run into a problem. Akima Brave doesn't want to sign a written deal with me because he has lucaritive jobs elsewhere but the problem is since I'm at war with SWF he would be leaving them anyways. Is this a problem with the game or is just one of those things I have to live with?

It's nice to see. So I got Rayne Man to sign a written deal with me but now I have run into a problem. Akima Brave doesn't want to sign a written deal with me because he has lucaritive jobs elsewhere but the problem is since I'm at war with SWF he would be leaving them anyways. Is this a problem with the game or is just one of those things I have to live with? Will he sign a PPA with you? I would think he wouldn't sign with you at all since he's working for a company that you're at war with...
PoisonedSuperman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 No he won't sign a PPA because he's being offered a written by SWF but he won't sign a written with me because he doesn't want to lose his contract. Its happened with Shady K now too. Wow I just beat TCW in a bidding war for Art Reed!! Awesome.
funkyzafara Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 If his contract with them is running out, you have to wait until he's left completely.
D-Lyrium Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 You've probably covered this already, but are you more prestigious than the SWF and on the same size category or higher? Because if not he wouldn't leave you anyway, the SWF would still be the better option for him.
bookerman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Noteable wrestlers I've signed due to relationships: Jacob Jett Steve Flash Gauge Brothers Champagne Lover Arthur Dexter Bradley Davis Wayne Newton Shooter Sean Deeley (Eric Tyler) Look for blood relative, boyfriend/girlfriend, mentor/protoge, strong friendship, etc. Tag team experience has no bearing
Remianen Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 And in each case, you sign the least over (or oldest) half of the relationship to get the target (i.e. Principessa to get Amber, Sally Anne to get Melody, etc) and once you have the target, you can then also lock up the person you used to hook them (or not). Many games, I've gotten Amber, Fuyuko Higa (by hiring Thunder Hike to a PPA, if Burning Hammer hasn't taken her already), Farrah Hesketh (by having Ashley or Maria), and so on. It's also one reason why I always have Relationship Generation on High. Also, it seems the strength of relationship matters as well (seems obvious but might not be for some). So if you're looking to hire a worker to make another worker happy, a rough approximate guide would be (from best to worst): Blood relative Mentor/protegé Married Engaged Dating Strong friendship
PoisonedSuperman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Yes I got Rayne Man because he become the protege of Chris Caulfield! Art Reed just signed, I gave him a decent offer and TCW never battled with me, just dropped out. I thought that this was maybe because TCW fianaces are low so I took a shot at Brent Hill but they beat me for him so I think it was more or less because Reed wasn't on there roster already so it wouldn't be a big hit to lose him. No I am not on the same level as SWF and TCW, I began checking momentum shortly after the post yesterday, I'm not going to be on TCW's level for a long time but I might catch them in mo! If that matters. I don't know, I"m just going to continue to play! Thanks all you.
bookerman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 If his contract with them is running out, you have to wait until he's left completely. Something I've learned is that if you're Cult sized and chasing National+ talent, you're better off letting their current deal expire and then trying to sign them than getting into a bidding war with a bigger company. Most of the time you're going to either a) pay too much or b) not get the talent and have them sign an exclusive with the other company. I've managed to get Troy Tornado and Steve Frehley on PPAs as NOTBPW since their companies allowed their deals to expire.
PoisonedSuperman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 If a guy is coming off of a written contract with a smaller company and you sign them, even if its to a PPA they will leave the other company! I got Ozzie Golden, Marty Papin, even Vibert left his booker position. Added bonus, Marty and Phil have great chemistry calling matches.
