Never thought I'd be writing this, and i wish i never had to. So soon after george best, britian loses another of its sporting legends. Last night, Richard Burns passed away aged 34. He died of the brain tumor that ended his rallying career in 2003. He will be sorley missed by all his fans. Richard Burns is a rallying legend. He entered the WRC in 1999 and won the World Rally Championship in 2001, proving himself to be the worlds best driver on all surfaces. Rallying for those who dont know, is the sport of driving a car as fast as you can from point A to point B on a variety of surfaces, rally's range from snow, gravel, mud and asphalt. Richard in a Subaru Impreza beat them all to win the title and become the first british champion since Colin McRae. Richard joined Peugeot in 2002, and struggled to get to grips with the handling of the 206. However he drove consistantly and showed the level of reliability that a champion needed. He went into 2003 as one of the favourites outside his awesome team mate Marcus Gronholm. He never won a rally, but drove consistantly, to leave himself with a chance at the title going into the last Rally, however he never made the last Rally. He fainted on the way to the rally, and was later diagnosed with a brain tumor. He retired from the sport. Burns is a legend of rallying, and will be missed by everyone who ever watched him in action. Legendary.

Man, you know what's curious? They always say deaths come in threes. So earlier this morning I was wondering if Pat Morita and George Best completed Eddie's threesome or if another shoe was gonna drop. I guess this is my answer. My condolences to all European rally fans. Bummer that Burns had to be the falling shoe.
