toddbloom7
Soooo, do you have any? Do you prefer hiring talent based on their look, primarily, before you look at any other statistics, or do you prefer to hire workers with solid backgrounds? I won't lie - I've been guilty of having a bias toward look/star-power (more so when I'm playing a national organization rather then a smaller one, of course) although I think that that is partly what makes a national (or international) organization what it is. Are there any unemployed workers that you just have to hire at the start of every game? Granted I'm still exploring everything about it but I've become partial to Faith McGee - she has a very unique look to her (though I'm biased towards a strong woman's division so that's what I tend to make my pet projecs). She'll usually end up in a development camp the first week as I find it fun to build up younger workers and see what they become.

Tiberius Bombard
I usually hire based on age and look/star quality. I usually hire them young, toss them into development for a while until I can filter them into the veterans somehow.
jesterx7769
Alot of my favorites have been based off their picture but I also hire up the ring generals at first no matter what size such as Steve Flash, JD Morgan, Johnny Marting, James Prudence. Those guys are all pretty solid workers and can work for any promotion. Champagne Lover is someone I of course always hire as well.
rajde
I guess the majority of my hirings would be based on potential. I do, however have to hire anybody that is talented or somewhat over.
1234
My main hiring bias is Performance skills, i always try to hire people with as good ratings in that as possible. Its always the first thing i look for in workers.
Jingo
Mine is based on my most important stats for the company i'm running, so for Deep Impact Wrestling i search for talent with minimums of E+ in Hardcore and D/D- in Brawling i'd also add in D+ Stamina if its an Upper Carder or Main Eventer i'm looking for ... If the search brings up too many it then of course goes on picture.
Nedew
Charisma, Brawling, Flashiness and Star Quality. Not necessarily all 4, but Charisma is usually a must. "Spot monkeys with microphones" sums up my style well.
aznironman
<p>Star Quality Must Be Greater Than C- to be on Main Roster; The higher the SQ, the harder I will push you. Those with Star Quality with D+ and less can make it to the Main Roster, but must have more overness than those currently on the roster, will be on short term deals, and will basically be jobbed out until their overness is under those on my main roster. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Used this system pretty much since Star Quality has been a stat.</p>
LoganRodzen
<p>If the average 'performance' skill is above a 60 they have a very good chance to become a star in my promotion.</p><p> </p><p> Stats I look at heavily: basics, consistency, selling, stamina, and athleticism. Charisma and star quality are a big plus.</p><p> </p><p> They don't need to be excellent across the board in those categories, but I certainly prefer my performance-heavy worker.</p>
Phil Parent
<p>I scout the wrestlers who activate the first day of every month thoroughly.</p><p> </p><p> I like to scout Japan for wrestlers who will work in Canada. I find that some great gems are over there.</p><p> </p><p> Once you are Regional/Cult, watch for SWF/TCW/NOTBPW having financial problems pushing them to renew some of their workers to P.P.A. deals, allowing you to sign them too.</p><p> </p><p> For me in my fed, it's all about workrate. C+'s and better in Tech with good basics mean money for me.</p>
BuddyGarner
For SWF, B+ in SQ or greater. B if less than 24. Or at least B- in overall popularity in the US.
NicoTheUnique
<p>Preformance all the way, if you cant work in the ring well, your not worthy for me.</p><p> </p><p> But after preformance, i always take a look at menace, mic skills, Star Quality etc. </p><p> </p><p> In the end i might get a small pool of workers, bet they are worth it <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
hrdcoresidebrns
<p>My hiring biases go as follows (in the order that I look for them):</p><p> </p><p> - Age (Preferably below 30 whenever possible)</p><p> - Performance (Particularly psychology & selling)</p><p> - Style (Rarely hire cruiserweights - usually brawlers or technicians)</p><p> - Entertainment/Menace (Usually one or the other, but both is a huge bonus)</p><p> - Personality (Shy away from jerks)</p><p> </p><p> Kind of a long list, but that's what I look at whenever I hire anybody, regardless of the promotion.</p>
GruntMark
<p>I try to keep a promotion true to its product for the most part.</p><p> </p><p> So with USPW mostly either old or over or menacing. Linsolv
I try to keep with the promotion, but I have to be able to figure out a character from the picture. This usually isn't prohibitive (so far, it's only REALLY becoming a problem for Merle O'Curle. He's just got nothing to his face at all.) but sometimes I just can't figure anything about them... It's interesting to see what everyone things about this! I've had that problem with some of my workers, too. They're on the roster and over but I just don't know what to do with them, so they just sort of go stagnant (American Machine and Captain Atomic.. I'm looking at you)! I try to stay as realistic as I can, though. I don't go crazy hiring or firing and don't pillage other promotions too much (though I always get tempted to just go in and steal Jamie Atherton from ACPW <g>). I just keep a shortlist of a few younger talents, who I send down to development leagues for the future. (Also, as much as I want to, I keep Big Smack Scott on the roster even though I'd love to really smack him big-time )

If a worker doesn't reform after my first encounter, the next time they fail the piss test, they're fired with no exceptions. InfectedGT
I only hire men, i don't know why though lol, I hardly ever book a womens match. In a year's game only 5 womens matches in history.

In fact, I recall trying to get Adam to add more female announcers so I wouldn't have to hire ANY men (with Ogiwara & Hike retired, that covers road agents and possibly color commentators). So typically, my user character is the only male on the roster. But I couldn't resist adding Eric Tyler in the mod given the circumstances (could you see him letting his 16/17 year old daughter work hundreds of miles away with no supervision?).</p>

Squirrel
I'm playing with Ring of Fire, and am concentrating heavily on wrestlers with good technical skills. Plus, I suppose I'm not employing any women or managers, and if a wrestler causes too much trouble in the dressing room (like JD Morgan!) they're out. Self
I seem to be a sucker for Tag Team Experience. A good 50% of my rosters are job guys, there to make the stars look good, so it's good for their versatility if they can take beatings in tag matches as well as singles. Plus, with my tag belts being Main Event titles, headlining 4-5 big shows a year, I always have a need for good teams to step up to the plate.
