Canadian Global Combat: The Rise or Fall....

Recommended Posts

WRITER NOTE: Hey guys, I just bought this game just yesterday and I figured I'd dip into CornellVerse a bit while giving the Real World mod makers some more time to work on their stuff.

Since I'm Canadian, I decided it would be most fun to go with a Canadian company, that is somewhat high but still has a long way to go before competiting for a Top-3 spot.

The only wrestler edits I made were adding my friend and me, to the Canadian Global Combat roster. I made a few small changes to the Product Details (upped event match ratios, etc). But you'll find all that info below!

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

- Nate

BREAKING NEWS

**********

Week 1, January 2010

In a recent interview, Kate Avatar, the new head booker for Canadian Global Combat has announced a bunch of new additions to the CGC roster in the past few days. Those additions will be listed below. She also stated in the interview that at this point, no one's job is safe. She expects each and every worker to give it their all each night, or new talent will be coming to the forefront and pushing them to the back of line.

Kate said she feels that fans of CGC need some new life pressed into the promotion to make it to the next level and that's what she plans to do. What better way to do it, then bring in some fresh faces. She also stated she has big plans for CGC but that everyone would just have tune in to the television show to see what she means!

In addition, for anyone that cares, Kate Avatar recently bought a young Australian Sheperd puppy named Koki.

.....

Anyway, the new additions are as follows;

ANNOUNCER: Mitch Naess was signed to a Pay-Per-Appearance contract. As it stands now, he will likely fill in as a third announcer on Events, but not be showing up each week for TV. Apparently the contract was a bit hefty, hence the willingness to use him on a less frequent basis.

WRESTLER: Nathaniel Ca$ino was signed to a Pay-Per-Apperance contract for 8-months. Ca$ino debuted 1 1/2 years ago and has made quite the impression on Kate Avatar. She thinks this kid could be a star.

WRESTLER: Ant-Man was signed to a Pay-Per-Apperance contract for just over 8-months. Ant-Man is just 20-years old and projects to be a solid prospect for CGC.

WRESTLER: Mainstream Hernandez is a 23-year old wrestler who signed a 1-year Pay-Pay-Apperance contract with CGC yesterday. He is a lightweight and has won the first two ever Rip Chord Invitational Tournaments. Could this kid big the real deal?

WRESTLER: Roger Monteiro is a young 19-year American lightweight wrestler. He has a good look and is very athletic, but still very green at this point in his career. He is signed a 9-month Pay-Per-Apperance contract.

WRESTLER: Steven Parker is a 25-year old male who signed a 9-month contract with CGC. He has had a lot of success on the independent scene and CGC hopes he can come in and help out fairly quickly.

WRESTLER: Champagne Lover is a 28-year old is a huge star in Mexico due to being a part of a huge hit television show. In Canada, however, he's barely a name. He does have a great look, huge star quality, good mic skills, great charisma, and he's decent in the ring. He signed a 9-month Pay-Per-Appearance contract with CGC.

WRESTLER: The Tic is a 24-year old star whose got a fun gimmick for young fans to love. He will probably due what he does everywhere (open shows), and get the younger fans into the show. He signed a short term contract with CGC today and terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WRESTLER: Hollywood Brett Starr is the grandson of Legend Micky Starr. He isn't that good of a wrestler, but he has decent mic skills and has a good look. He connects with the crowd rather well, so he could have a good future ahead of him, especially if he improves in the ring. He signed a short term deal with CGC and the terms were not disclosed.

On that note, none of the newly acquired talent are expected to work the Television show this Sunday night.

MAIN CARD

* CGC Title Bout Wrestling opens as the camera pans down to your announcers Marty Papin and Adrian Garcia. They begin to hype the show as an image of each of the announced matches comes up.

* The first image we see is hyping the Joey Poison/Gargantuan match for the CGC Canadian Title later in the program. Papin lets us know that Joey Poison has now held the title for two full months. Garcia chimes in that he'll be lucky to make it out with the title tonight!

RATING: D+

The second image we see is hyping The Gods of Gray, your tag team champions, who will face The Model XXXpress later in the evening. Papin lets us know that The Model XXXpress are newcomers to the scene and will look to make their mark for a future title shot. Garcia says they deserve to be champions just because of how good they look!

RATING: D+

The third and final image is shown to hype tonight's main event - ELITE vs The DeColt Family. Alex, Ricky, and Jack DeColt join forces to face Nate Johnson, "Shooter" Sean Deeley, and Eddie Chandler. Papin gives us a little background information on just how long the DeColt family has been at battle with ELITE.

RATING: B-

* As the final images fades away, the camera aims towards the entrance ramp as an unfamiliar theme hits the stage. Suddenly from the backstage area, we see the new Chairman make their way to the ring. The one and only, Kate Avatar. Avatar slaps hands with the fans on the way to the ring. Once in the ring, she gets the mircophone from the ring announcer to address the fans in attendance. In short, Kate Avatar thanks all the fans for coming out and says that she's here in CGC to help bring it higher than its ever gone before. She also states that she'd like to name a new commissioner and his name is - Phil Vibrant. Vibrant walks out onto the stage, waves to the crowd as the scene fades away.

RATING: C-

* CGC Canadian Title Match: Joey Poison © vs. Gargantuan

Poison may be the champion but he has a huge task ahead of him with this monster. Poison steps in the ring and looks straight at the beast. He quickly runs at Garguantuan but gets clothes hard for his efforts. Gargantuan picks up Poison's lifeless body and throws him into the corner and begins firing multiple lefts and rights into the face of Poison. Gargantuan whips Poison across the ring into the opposite turnbuckle before running at him with full speed. Poison manages to get his foot up and catch Gargantuan in the face. Poison fires back with some lefts and rights before running off the ropes and attemping a cross body to no luck as Gargantuan catches him and powers him down to the mat. Gargantuan runs off the ropes and comes back with a huge splash. With a grin spread across his face, Gargantuan makes the cover but only gets a 2-count. He gets to his feet and begins yelling at referee, Francis Long. Gargantuan shoves Long to the ground which causes the automatic DQ @ 5:02. Poison luckily escapes with his title.

RATING: D

* Ryan Powell vs. Warren Technique

Technique doesn't even get an entrance, so the outcome of this match is pretty predictable. Powell gets in the ring and hits a few nice dropkicks. Technique tries to reverse a vertical suplex, but Powell gets it off anyway. Star Treatment finishes Technique off @ 2:01. Easy victory for Powell.

RATING: D+

After the match, Technique gets to his feet and offers his hand to Powell. Powell ignores him and heads to the back.

RATING: D

* Non-Title Match: Gods of Gray vs. The Model XXXpress

The Model XXXpress may have one of the best entrances in all of wrestling. This match was a solid match with very basic work from the newcomers. Hollister and Abercrombie managed to keep Grayson out of his corner as they continually double teamed him. Maxmillion kept trying to enter the ring, which would only draw the referee's attention to him. The XXXpress hit a nice spot as Abercrombie hit a suplex and Lewis springboarded into the ring into a legdrop as Grayson was falling. Maxmillion eventually gets the hot tag and clears house. After knocking both Hollister and Abercrombie out of the ring, they leave ringside which draws the Count-Out @ 10:21.

RATING: C+

* After the match, Kate Avatar has joined the broadcast team for the upcoming Main Event bout.

RATING: D-

* All four members of ELITE (Nate Johnson, Sean Deeley, Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay) are backstage talking about the upcoming match. DaLay says the DeColt family is lucky that he's not in the match because he'd rip them about. Shooter Sean Deeley finishes the interview saying this will be easier than target practice.

RATING: B

* After ELITE comes down to the ring, we turn our heads to see The DeColt Family talking on the big screen. Alex DeColt mentions that he is the current CGC World Champion and that he has the two greatest brothers anyone could ask for. Ricky and Jack chime in that The DeColt Family is the greatest wrestling family on earth and they will prove it in mere moments.

RATING: B-

* The DeColt Family vs. ELITE

ELITE looked really good as they controlled most of the match with Ricky DeColt not being able to make a tag. Jack and Alex DeColt looked on helplessly as ELITE continued to pummel him in their corner. Ricky managed to hit clothesline on Deeley which enabled him to make the hot tag to Jack. Jack was a house of fire for a moment, but was brought back down to earth after Dan DaLay tripped him from the outside of the ring. Eddie Chandler and Nate Johnson controlled the next portion of the match before another hot tag was made, this time to the World Champion, Alex DeColt. Ricky and Jack began fighting with Johnson and Chandler on the outside of the ring, drawing the referee's attention to them. DaLay got in the ring and went to hit Alex DeColt in the face with brass knuckles but accidentally hit his stable-mate, Sean Deeley. Alex DeColt clothes DaLay out of the ring and made the cover on Deeley just as the referee turned around. That was enough to pick up the victory @ 10:46.

RATING: C-

With Deeley laid out of the ring, and the other four contestants fighting to the back, Alex DeColt was along in the ring celebrating the victory. Dan DaLay jumped back into the ring and hit DeColt repeatedly with the brass knuckles as the show faded to black.

RATING: B
