Help with gimmicks

Recommended Posts

This happens to me on every mod i play. I sign a worker and choose a gimmick that isnt subtle or risky as my product doesnt like this. I filter out gimmicks that dont suit the worker but i always get penalised for a bad gimmick. What am i doing wrong?

What's your Creativity user talent at? If it's low, that could be the issue.

Personally I think the game is a bit harsh on bad gimmicks - anything below C+ is considered bad! But obviously the higher the gimmick rating, the smaller the penalty. The penalty for a C rated gimmick is really miniscule, enough to not be noticed at all.

I think A gimmcks are supposed to be rare to come by as well. For example most of my gimmick changes probably get a C+ which is just enough not to get the negative (so really cant complain) but at the same time, if 7/10 gimmicks get an A rating, thats not realistic either.

I think a problem with them is its not really clearly defined what makes a good or bad gimmick, you can filter the ones that dont suit them, but you cant tell if the remaining ones are great fit for his skills or not without going in the editor to see which stats those gimmicks grade on.

Thought I would post this here so Derek or someone that asked this before can answer as its something I've wondered.

If a gimmick requires say Medium mic skills, and the worker has great mic skills, does this increase the chance of the gimmick getting a higher rating? Or does the game simply check to see if he has atleast Medium mic skills then goes on to generate the rating from there. Basically does the game just do a barrier check and move on, or does it look for above and beyond.

i am playing as USPW for over a year now and i have only had 4-5 guys ever get below C+ gimmic ratings. A few things i keep in mind are:

1. Well its USPW so if its subtle or risky, i throw it out right away.

2. ALWAYS do an angle to debut someone. Since my product makes it impossible to hit B ratings w/o some overness, having someone debut with a bad match will get bad ratings. Basically, if someone debut's its w/ Sam Strong or someone of that higher value.

3. Make sure heel/face is right. did this once and it SUCKED. Kirk was so pissed he left when i turned him face with the gimmic but forgot to turn him fully face. once i fully turned him he got A ratings, but he is still pissed.

Following these rules, i have managed to get about 70% of my roster with gimmics better than B+. That helps when u consider my monsters are SO bad in the ring. Hell's Bouncer + T-Rex at A* gimmic = money.

You have to give the full stats. What is the product settings of your promotion? (All of them). What is the rating of the gimmicksof the particular workers? What are there ratings on the all types of gimmicks?

First note:

1. Most Gimmicks SHOULD fall in the B- to B+ range, unless they REALLY don't fit them. You only should get C- to C+'s when they are using the gimmicks they have no problem with, BUT, aren't necessarily their strongest types. Any lower, and you must have screwed up somehow.
