Terminator980

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c310/s5demigh/carbon9banner.jpg

The History behind the company

CARBON 9 was formed as the ICWA (Impact Championship Wrestling Association) back in 2006, becoming the first fully integrated company in the United States, promoting matches and actual wrestling rather then the drama outside of the ring. The company is known for mixing realism, pure wrestling seen in Europe, the high flying style of luchadors from Mexico, and the modern edginess not seen within most companies. Within two years, the owner (Mike Red) became a millionaire and landed a TV deal, broadcasting in California and all of Mexico.

No doubt, the star during the ICWA's rise was none other then Wanda Fish. The moment she won the United States Championship off of Bob Casey, she tucked her head down and ran with it, holding the belt for an astounding 18 months before losing it to Angel De Mexico. After her loss, the decision was made to split the title, giving birth to the American Championship which Wanda won right away. Eventually, J-Ro would enter the organization and give Wanda a run for her money. Throughout the next few months, The American championship bounced back and forth between the two 6 times within 5 months, creating more interest in this new title rather then the established US title, which the men held. No doubt that in this company, the women were top of the pack.

Sadly, as 2008 was coming to a close, Wanda Fish, Alicia Strong, and a few others were signed by USPW in order to get their Women's division going. This severely crippled the ICWA as J-Ro won the American Champion from Wanda Fish on her last match but didn't have any credible challengers. With this, the ICWA retired the American and Women's title causing the promotion to become fully integrated once more.

With the ICWA in a slow decline, The owner acted fast and hired unknown wrestling booker David Barajas. His plan to turn the company around was to completely change the image. The first to go was the ICWA name itself. After an hour or so of discussing it, CARBON 9 Championship Wrestling became the new name. The second thing he promptly did was went out and hired the biggest female names he could come across. He went to any show that show cased any female worker to evaluate them for a possible spot on the roster. One big signing was Grace Harper, coming from the AAA promotion in Washington.

She entered CARBON 9 and quickly won the Global Championship off of J-Ro, sparking a hatred between each other. Some say that this rivalry could reach the heights of the J-Ro/Wanda feud.

During his travels, one person caught his eye. Coming from PSW, Grandmaster Phunk was quickly signed and thrown into a 3-way dance as a surprise opponent for the World Championship. Surprising everyone, he pinned Steve Flash to win the title and has been going strong ever since.

With this new era beginning and entering the year 2010, we head into CARBON 9's first ever Pay Per View, Red Line!
