Formed in the late 70's by the Legendary Bonepicker (Alex Rhoode) after a trip to Japan to wrestle in the then named JPW, Bonepicker's entire look on Professional Wrestling was changed. No longer enamored by Angles and Interviews, Bonepicker decided that the US wrestling scene needed change. Taking a no-nonsense approach to professional wrestling, especially strange considering his Gimmick is that of a Zombie, Bonepicker has sired two amazing talents that have decidedly donned his old attire. [b][i]==================================================[/b][/i] [b]Brutal Bulldog Wrestling Alliance[/b] [i]Promotion Style: Hardcore[/i] [i]Based In: Midlands, UK[/i] [i]Promotion Size: Regional[/i] Profile: Formed in the early 90's as a 'backyard' fed intially. They were just dubbed as a blood-sport and that they would have relatively no success in the world of wrestling, and none of their stars would ever have any merit. Until The Masked Marauder decided that he would help this British promotion grow. Marauder himself being a native Brit, is well respected all over the world , and within the short spain of a few years he had most of Britain talking about this cutting edge and brutally realistic wrestling promotion. Marauder currently is the owner, booker, and occasional Main Eventer for BBWA. [b][i]==================================================[/b][/i] [b]Japanese Classical Wrestling[/b] [i]Promotion Style: Hybrid[/i] [i]Based In: Honshu, Japan[/i] [i]Promotion Size: National[/i] Profile: Formed in 1945, simply because of the US attraction to Professional Wrestling. Japan quickly mastered this new form of entertainment, although several of the first promotions failed. Marketing genius Uichi Yamaguchi finally took his shot at creating a Wrestling Promotion. It helped immensely that Uichi had a love for the business that other greedy promoters had lacked, and initially he had called the JCW "Japanese Pro-Wrestling" and attempted to get it aired in the US. Unfortunately the US would have nothing to do with this in the early 60's, and so Uichi began to play to his homefield which was undoubtedily the best move he had ever made as a businessman. JPW was accepted almost instantly in Japan, unlike it's US counter-part. The name Japanese Classical Wrestling came about in the 80's during a Wrestling Revolution in the States due to Dean Martini. JCW is easily one of the most respected promotions in the world, due to their on camera 'honor code' that resembles that Japanese Samurai Bushido code. Their wrestlers are some of the best in the world, one of their biggest stars is the 'Innovator of Strong Style' DEMON Kasai, and the rip on history Nobunaga Oda. [b][i]==================================================[/b][/i] [b]Loco Lucha Libre[/b] [i]Promotional Style: Lucha Traditional[/i] [i]Based In: South Eastern, Mexico[/i] [i]Promotion Size: International[/i] Profile: The second oldest known Wrestling Promotion in the World, LLL was originally formed just a side-show attraction by basically the same man that formed the World-known WWWA. Mark Martini and Edwardo Ortez formed the LLL as a joint-project. Within a few years, Martini's WWWA began to take off and he distanced himself from the flea-sized LLL and Ortez. Soon however, Ortez began to take the product in a different direction from his Northern counter-parts. He took the company into a different direction with two incredibly talented High-Spot based Wrestlers that worked and incredibly frightening style of wrestling, that was unlike anything anywhere else in the world had to offer at the time. Soon it became the standard for Mexican workers, and The Crusader and The Crimson Ghost had cemented themselves as Legendary World-Wide. LLL has an excellent working relationship with JCW surprisingly enough, and you can find many of their talented workers traded back and forth between companies. Even to this day, LLL continues to tradition that Ortez created, still standing true the classic Lucha Libre motto, "Everyone's style is accepted no matter how baroque or obscure." [b][i]==================================================[/b][/i] [b]Ontario Wrestling Organization[/b] [i]Promotion Style: Cutting Edge[/i] [i]Based In: Ontario, Canada[/i] [i]Promotion Size: National[/i] Profile: Singularly the most well known Canadian promotion that there is. Perhaps the only known one that there is, not to say that there aren't other Canadian promotions, just none of interest or that get the media exposure that OWO tends to. Created in the early 60's by one of Wrestling's most reverred Mic men, whom is also considered to be a psychological genius, David Danielson. Always cycling out young talent in order to create a new star, they're always looking for 'the next hot thing' in Professional Wrestling, because simply they want to sign him to as long as a contract as they can and make the money that they need to off of him. Most wrestlers that make it to OWO wrestle with Danielson at one time or another, because of his ego when it comes to booking. While he is one of Wrestling's finest workers, he is also one of the most self-important. [b][i]==================================================[/b][/i] [b]Tower Power-Pro Wrestling[/b] [i]Promotion Style: Traditional[/i] [i]Based In: Tri State, USA[/i] [i]Promotion Size: National[/i] Profile: Formed in the early 80's by one of Wrestling's foremost experts, generally best regarded, Stan Towers. The Canadian born technical God got his run into Wrestling when he won the Gold Medal for Wrestling in Canada, in the late 40's. Towers joined with the WWWA, and soon found his way to Japan where he met Bonepicker. Bonepicker was on his way into Japan as Towers was on his way out, however. Even after forming the promotion, Towers still regularly worked in Japan - and his son Dean was even born there. It is said that he has a great working relationship with the JCW, and that is evidenced by the fact that some workers from JCW occasionally come and work with wrestlers of TPP-W. They are the most well respected US promotion in the world, at least to the rest of the world outside of the US. TPP-W combines the elements of the JCW's 'Pure' style and WWWA's 'Entertainment' style for a nice blend. As for the Towers' legacy, his youngest Dean Towers works with him in the TPP-W, while his middle child Anthony has had great success in Mexico and has no urge to live in his father's shadow in the US. While the most successful and possibly the only one that will ever surpass his father in pure talent, Stan Towers Jr works consistantly for the JCW in Japan. His father being a Godlike figure in Japan helps his credibility some, but Jr has has made amazing matches to his own credit. [b][i]==================================================[/b][/i] [b]World Wide Wrestling Alliance[/b] [i]Promotion Style: Sports Entertainment[/i] [i]Based In: South West, USA[/i] [i]Promotion Size: Global[/i] Profile: WWWA, the World's oldest promotion. Formed in the early 1910's by Mark Martini, it was originally just some sort of carnival side show. Several fat guys just beating up on each other. Six years later, he found himself independant from his Mexican counter-part and from the carnies all-together. Wrestling really started to take off when in the early 60's Martini signed Olympic Gold-Medalist Stan Towers to the WWWA. There were four reasons to go see WWWA: Giant Crusher - the 7'5" nearly 500lb monster of a man who had an innate charm to him and had an equal charm to him in the ring. Stan Towers - while he lacked Charisma seriously he could do no wrong in the ring, and the fans loved him for it. The Iron Bull - One of those few large men that could put himself over on the mic and not embarrass himself in the ring, he was Giant Crusher's biggest rivaly, literally and figuratively. Jesse Michaels - while he is more famous for giving birth to Alex Michaels, Jesse himself is a bonafide legend, having several classic matches with Stan Towers in the WWWA and then later in JCW. Soon the 'Golden Era' of wrestling for WWWA would pass in the 70's as the old-man became older, and was desperate for new stars and new ideas. Although he stayed loyal to Giant Crusher and Iron Bull, Jesse Michaels and Stan Towers found themselves without jobs in the 70's. Mark Martini on his last legs sold the company to his Grandson - Dean Martini, his father Greg having no interest in the business despite his grandfather's attempts. Dean almost immediately turned the company into something else, something new, and WWWA and the Wrestling World experienced a wind of revitalization in the early 80's. Nick Steele was a superstar that was hired by Dean's father, whom he had big intentions for, Dean followed through with his Grandfather's intentions. The 'Steele Reign' lasted for about twenty years. In 1985, Mark Martini finally passed away of old age, he was 89. Having lost his grandfather, and apparently his source of inspiration, Dean Martini lost his 'smile' so to speak for Pro-Wrestling.. The Company floundered without a Martini behind the wheel, and the board of directors attempted many times to get him to come back. They were unable to create any new stars during this time, having to ride on the backs of new star Nick Steele and Lifetime WWWAers Giant Crusher and The Iron Bull. However, Bull and Crusher at this time are getting up there in the years and couldn't exactly perform to their younger standard. It wasn't until 1991 when Nick Steele finally talked Martini back into the WWWA did that company finally get that extra 'boost' of power that they needed. Almost immediately, Martini came into contact with Stan Towers and Stan Towers Jr, and made a deal with them to come to his company. In '98 Martini hired Anthony Towers as well. The 'Steele Reign' continued as Stan Towers put over Nick Steele several times, and Stan Towers Jr worked with the Heavyweight on more then one occasion. Iron Bull and Giant Crusher also put over Steele at this time, and he was soon the biggest name the industry had ever seen. In early 1999 Stan Towers decided that his time in WWWA was over and that he should focus on his own promotion, and left the company for good. Two years later, his son Anthony and Stan Jr followed. Stan ended up in Japan, and Anthony ended up in Mexico. Following an injury in 98' the years were beginning to grow on Steele as well, and WWWA began to look for new stars. In 2005 the company is still riding the coat-tail of it's legends, and of the Super-Star known as Nick Steele. There is a good deal of young talent on this roster, but the question is, will Steele give up his spot? Which really isn't surprising, considering that Nutlaw is a great brawler, and Wheed is a great technician. They have something in common though, in flying. This rating was disappointing, but not surprising - because ... both of their Overness' sort of suck. [b][i]Nutlaw defeated Tony "Smokin'" Wheed - C-[/i][/b] (( Not a Forumer Match, don't care.)) Ares and Mark Storm both have a pretty good overness in Canada, and both work a similar style - and both are almost as good as one another. This is just queer that this match got such a low rating. [b][i]Mark Storm defeated Ares - C[/i][/b] Editor: This match should have been better in my opinion. Both Harris and Stylez are so over that it hurts, and they work an incredibly similar style. Very odd that this match didn't get a better rating then it did, as this probably would have been the perfect pairing for the OWO. In either case, thus begins Rex Harris' title reign! Let's see how long he keeps that belt! For all of you readers, Alex Michaels is probably the best all-rounder in the scenerio and likely the most over 'all-rounder' as it were. Markos isn't a bad worker per-say. But Raine there couldn't have a good match with Alex, so boo on him. A C+? I think the ratings are broken or something. Exact opposite, no brawling skills but tons of Technical and Flying. .. This was just stupid, and sad to see two people I picked out to become stars get wasted. Benjamin is the son of Giant Crusher. So, not much more to say about that - other then predictable rating. Guessing this was just a squash match. [i][b]Bruiser Benjamin defeats Grimm Reaper - C-[/b][/i] (( Not a Forumer Match, and definitely not where I would have put this match. )) Nick Steele defeats Jake Bishop - B Editor: I still stand-by the thing I said about Burleigh being a big star in WWWA. KC Wolf on the otherhand, will likely flounder and struggle here. To be honest, he'll probably just be a jobber for WWWA for his whole tenure there, he's not their style of worker - and he's small. Very likely just another squash match. [i][b]Burleigh defeats KC Wolf - C[/b][/i] Editor: In a stroke of booking genius, Gabriella was put in a match with three large heavyweights. Sure, she's one of the best brawlers in the world - but she was likely overshadowed in this match by the pure size of the other three. Whom I might mention are no where near her skills aside from Slim Jim. Not a surprising rating considering the poor decision to put Gabriella in it. WWWA has a few talented female wrestlers and a Women's only title, so odd not to see them take advantage of it.
