jonlawson
Saturday Night’s Main Event is returning to NBC this March after a 13-year hiatus. In the mid-1980s through early 1990s, WWE fans would scour the television listings each month — making sure they didn’t miss the highly anticipated special that replaced network staple Saturday Night Live on occasion. When Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller and Dana Carvey weren’t performing comedy sketches, WWE Superstars were squaring off in matches that often took on a pay-per-view feel. mystic
that should be interesting, but In my opinion the only reason they are bringing back SNME is to take viewers away from TNA impact. also over at wwe.com a possible list of new raw GMs is posted to "replace" eric and jerry jarrett's name is listed, found that interesting. jonlawson
Wasn't Lebron James listed in that for the GM spot, I think that was hilarious :P
mystic
possible GM's for raw link http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/generalmanager according to the article by Keith Scully wwe has this list: Dusty Rhodes Bret Hart Jerry Jarrett Paul Heyman Sgt. Slaughter Chris Jericho assuming eric is gone and a new GM comes from this list. dusty rhodes could because he would bring something different to the GM role and outside of the wwe homecoming he has been off of tv so he would not be the first person people would think of. bret hart, yes he did the DVD but I think he would be better suited against doing his farewell speech and moving on jerry jarrett, would be GM, only to hurt TNA. Paul heyman, would be fun to see him back on tv, but I personally would like to see him be on eric's side against vince and his family. (two hated rivals team up to take down a bigger threat) Sgt. Slaughter, been there done that, next please chris jericho is off with his band and having jericho be GM would almost be like having austin as GM, jericho would get under eric's skin as GM because he was fired by eric, problems between the two last till wrestlemania at the latest then what for jericho. of course off this list is shane O' mac but that's too easy. I would love to see jerry jarrett be GM just to see what TNA would do. that being said no one from this list is the "next" raw GM
jonlawson
You know with the brand splits and all the ECW fans, wouldn't it be neat, in a fantasy world, if Vince allowed Bischoff to run WCW on Friday nights, and let Paul run ECW on Saturday nights? Then keep the flagship, Raw as WWE? Just a random thought here :)
captainlou
Vince and/or Linda probably wouldn't allow Bischoff to run the show himself, jonlawson. It was Eric who ran WCW before it went "belly up". Ric Flair stated in his book that Bischoff was an @$$hole and was the one who ruined WCW. Goldberg
I hate jonlawson's idea of Paul H and Eric B running the brands but I love the three brand idea... That would put TNA #4 since the same person who watched WWE RAW would watch ECW... Smackdown turning into WCW I don't know... Smackdown is a money maker on UPN, nobody loved WCW the way people loved ECW...
jonlawson
I see your point about the WCW thing, but at least ECW coming back, that would be an excellant idea...it wouldn't work on NBC though....

And that also, Ric Flair needs to retire, and fall off a cliff. Say what you will, but Ric is a real ******* as well, so I don't care who he doesn't like. For proof, re-read the Flair book again. AdmiralZ
Is this going to be a new show or are they just playing reruns from the 80s? (Not that I'd be against that.)
jonlawson
No one responded to that question? Well, it apparently is only a one time thing....which was sad IMO
kennywanchizoate
Actually, SNME will be back on NBC on July 15 from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Looks like it may be a quarterly thing. KennyWan
